Feng Wu felt very hot, and she looked up at the sky.
It was covered by flaming red clouds.
“Are the clouds on fire?” Feng Wu frowned.
That shouldn’t be the case.
Clouds were made of water vapor, so how could they be on fire? She must be so tired that she was hallucinating.
However, something still felt off.
They soon entered the fortress.
The vast fortress was divided into two wings.
According to Chen Ziyun, the left wing was where the Military Academy’s quarters were, and the right wing was Imperial College’s.
Feng Wu only realized how large the fortress was when she was inside.
It was a 5 km by 5 km square, and covered an area of 25 square kilometers in total.
Imperial College’s quarters were at least ten square kilometers in size.
It was made up of rows of stone houses that seemed quite durable.
Everybody could have their own house.
Feng Wu thought that everything she had seen so far seemed to be in order, and she didn’t feel the tension of war. Northern Feng General had to be an excellent leader.
She went straight to Elder Wu. “I need to see Northern Feng General.”
She had asked around, but no one had any information on Jun Linyuan.
She thought that Northern Feng General had to know something.
Elder Wu stared at her. “Northern Feng General won’t see every person who wants to talk to him.”
He was the supreme commander of the army and a very busy man.
Somebody snorted.
Feng Wu frowned and saw that it was Sheng Changtian, her old enemy.
Feng Wu ignored him and only said to Elder Wu, “Do you remember that seal?”
Elder Wu immediately realized it was Emperor Wu’s personal seal.
It occurred to Elder Wu that the girl might be Emperor Wu’s future daughter-in-law, so Northern Feng General might actually agree to see her.
Elder Wu said, “Follow me.”
Feng Wu asked, “Don’t you find it strange?”
Elder Wu said, “You’ve noticed it as well, then.”
Feng Wu nodded. “It’s so quiet. Where is everybody?”
Elder Wu said, “Has the war started? I don’t think so…”
They suddenly heard surprised voices, and they rushed to the other side of the fortress, which was the side that didn’t face the portal.
The portal was at the back of the fortress.
So many people had gathered on a wide plain, and they all looked up at the burning clouds.
Elder Wu asked a familiar student what was going on.
The student said, “They’re fighting over the clouds!”
“They? Who?”
“His Royal Highness and Night Owl of the Dongsang Kingdom!”
WHAT?!
Feng Wu’s stomach lurched.
She knew Jun Linyuan and Night Owl would confront each other, but she didn’t know the battle would be so fierce.
People around them were explaining to Elder Wu and Chen Ziyun, “It’s been ten days since His Royal Highness and Night Owl started fighting.
“The clouds were white at first, but as the battle continued, more and more clouds were set on fire!
“Nearly 80% of the clouds are like that already!”
Little Phoenix stood on Feng Wu’s shoulder and looked up at the sky.
Feng Wu couldn’t see anything, but Little Phoenix knew better because it had the fire element.
What it said made Feng Wu’s blood curdle.
“His Royal Highness is covered in blood.”
