When Gu Mian walked in through the door, Tang Zui spotted her right away. He was holding and twirling a cup in his hand with a smirk on his face.
The moment Gu Mian saw Tang Zui, her legs instantly went limp. Tang Ming quickly held her.
Tang Ming did not expect to see Tang Zui home. First of all, it was because of the latter’s tense relationship with their father. Secondly, Tang Zui had not set foot on this house for many years.
Old Master Tang kept criticizing his son Tang Jiyun and telling him to treat Tang Zui fairly.
Tang Jiyun was not happy. He pointed to Tang Zui. “Father, look at him. He’s always looking and acting indecently. If only he’s half as good as Little Ming…”
“To you, Tang Ming is your only son, and Little Zui is an orphan you picked up off the street, isn’t it?”

Lu Shuzhen ushered Tang Ming and Gu Mian into the parlor. Tang Ming quickly greeted Old Master Tang and Tang Jiyun.

“Miss Gu seems familiar. Have we met somewhere?” Tang Zui suddenly asked as he stared at her.
Gu Mian snapped out of her reverie and met his mirthless gaze. There was a mocking look in his eyes.
“Tang Zui, don’t cross the line! She’s your younger brother’s girlfriend, not one of those indecent women you mess around with!” Tang Jiyun said indignantly.
“Tsk. How am I’m indecent for messing around? I’ve paid for their services. To be honest, though, I genuinely mistook your son’s girlfriend for a… prostitute!”
When she heard what Tang Zui said, Gu Mian felt as though her head and ears were buzzing. She knew that if she did not return that one hundred million RMB to him, he would brazenly humiliate her anytime and anywhere!
“Big brother, you should get yourself a pair of prescription glasses for your short-sightedness!” Tang Ming’s expression had darkened slightly.
“Father, look at him. He’s totally out of control!”
Old Master Tang glanced at Gu Mian. He reached out to pat Tang Zui on his thigh and said, “Walk me to the door.”
“Father, don’t you want to have dinner at our house? The food is ready. Today is Jiyun’s birthday, after all.”
Lu Shuzhen could not bear the thought to let Old Master Tang leave. When she was married into the Tang family, the old man had announced that Tang Zui was the only heir to the Tang family’s fortune, while her son would not receive a dime.

Gu Mian found an excuse to use the washroom. After she entered the washroom, she turned on the tap and started splashing water onto her face. She did not know that Lu Ming and Tang Zui were half-brothers until now!

“Are you alright?” Tang Ming gazed at her lovingly.
“It’s nothing…” Gu Mian did not dare to look up. She knew that Tang Zui did that on purpose. He knew that she would not dare to stand up for herself.
After braving through the dinner, Tang Jiyun immediately made Tang Ming invite Gu Mian to take a look at his room. Tang Zui sneered as he stared at Tang Jiyun. His father always criticized him for being indecent, yet he was practically “pimping” Tang Ming to Gu Mian…
Tang Zui sneered and left the mansion through the front door.

As he answered the call and listened to the person on the other end of the line, he furrowed his eyebrows. He then stood up, turned and excused himself for a while.
Gu Mian did not mind. She started scanning the room. Eventually, her gaze rested on a picture on the desk. She and Tang Ming were the subjects of the photo. They were facing away from the camera and sitting on a tree at the beach…
