Tang Zui immediately shook his head. “Of course not. If you don’t believe me, ask her.”
Su Qianxun immediately looked towards Gu Mian. “Mian Mian, did Tang Zui upset you?”
“No. What happened to your hand?” Gu Mian did not want to continue talking about this at all. She quickly changed the topic.
“A classmate betrayed her and almost got her killed,” Tang Zui leaned against the headboard of the bed and said flatly.
“What really happened? Was it Bai Weimi who did this?” Gu Mian began freaking out.
“Come with me for a second.” Su Qianxun dragged Gu Mian out of the room.
Tang Zui fixed his eyes on Gu Mian. When she disappeared from his sight, he felt as if his heart had become empty. He thought that he must have been bewitched. He lifted the blanket to his head and covered himself.
Once they were outside the ward, Su Qianxun told Gu Mian about her traumatic experience. Hearing the story, Gu Mian was horrified. She knew that Bai Weimi was shallow and opportunistic, but she did not know that Bai Weimi’s true nature was so much worse. In order to save herself, she sold her best friend out without hesitation.
After Long Sijue hung up, he headed towards the young woman. Gu Mian said, “Let’s not think too much about it. It’s all in the past. I’m going back to the ward to see if Tang Zui needs anything.”
“I’m going with you.”
“Why don’t you wait for Sir Jue?” Gu Mian let out a chuckle and went back into the ward.
Su Qianxun turned around and realized that Long Sijue was standing beside her. He tilted his head and stared at her. He asked, “What did you and Gu Mian talk about?”
“Uh… nothing, really. I merely told her about what happened to Bai Weimi and Ke Ran.” For some unknown reason, Su Qianxun felt very anxious when she was around him lately.
“Let’s go in.” Long Sijue did not want her to continue thinking about that incident. He put his arms around her and ushered her back into the ward.
Tang Zui instructed Gu Mian to peel an apple for him. Su Qianxun watched the way Gu Mian and Tang Zui interacted. She had a strange feeling about them for some reason, but she could not point out what exactly struck her as odd.

Qiao Yiren noticed that her mother did not seem to be in a good mood. When Su Manni left, Qiao Yiren also excused herself and left with her. She did not feel like staying with Xia Chuxi right now, anyway.
“Mother, did something happen?”
