She closed the lid and went to see if there was food in the fridge. But there was nothing inside. It was when Su Qianxun recalled that Jin Garden never kept leftovers.
She took out some dry noodles from the fridge. Five minutes later, she was done cooking a bowl of bland soup noodles. Su Qianxun carried the bowl and headed back to her room.
After Su Qianxun left, Long Sijue stepped out from the shadow in the corner. There was a lit cigarette in his hand. He gazed at the young woman as she walked away. He felt as if a large hand was clenching his heart, and his heart was throbbing with a dull pain. When he accidentally burned his finger with the cigarette, he furrowed his eyebrows slightly.
Long Sijue kept telling himself that she deserved it. No one asked her to abort his child. She did it herself. Therefore, she deserved to suffer.
But he did not understand why there was discomfort and unease in his heart. He could hardly suppress the urge to hold her in his arms.
Long Sijue turned and looked at the soup in the kitchen, which was ready to serve. He suddenly turned around and walked out of the kitchen.

“Huan Huan, what is this?”
“Chicken herbal soup. I brewed it and I scooped a bowl of soup for you. It’ll help with your recovery.” Huan Huan walked over cheerfully and put down the tray.
“Will this get you into trouble? You should return it to the kitchen.”
“It’s fine. There is a whole pot of soup. No one can tell that I’d taken some. Quick, drink it. Take a sip.” Huan Huan lifted the bowl of soup and insisted that Su Qianxun drank it.
Su Qianxun gazed at the expectant look on Huan Huan’s face and knew that she was being kind. Recalling the condition of her health, she did not turn Huan Huan down again. After all, she did not know what would be awaiting her the next day.
