Medicine

Dark red blood dripped down, meandering and flowing across the floor like a stream.

In the end, the knife directed at Mo Fei landed on his own throat, angled parallel to his neck and piercing upwards into his brain.

The boy fell straight on the ground, twitching, his grinning eyes wide open, looking at Mo Fei blankly.

Mo Fei grasped the hand that held the knife. He tilted his head, black eyes looking straight into him. “Now, you have learned how to use a knife.”

A tissue fell on the ground after fingers were wiped clean, soaking in a pool of blood.

The person who stood up let out an extremely empty and bored sigh, bored to death, interest all worn out, and walked out of the classroom.

Ye Zun walked out of the classroom but did not see Chen Qianqian, and he didn’t know which direction to go.

He originally wanted to take the opportunity to shake off Mo Fei and find a random direction to wander off to. He hesitated for a while, thinking about the boy inside. If he was left alone, he wondered if the kid would be lured by Mo Fei again to do something dangerous.

Honestly, this person… He can use anyone in any way; it was absolutely impossible to leave him alone.

After hesitating for a bit, he saw Mo Fei walking out from inside.

Seeing his empty hands, Ye Zun breathed an unnoticeable sigh of relief. Pursing his lips, he said cautiously. “How’s the person inside doing?”

Mo Fei frowned and looked at him regretfully. “That guy is really stubborn ah. How can I tell him that you can’t just slice your girlfriend’s face with a knife. When you see that the other person doesn’t like you, the natural way to do things is to find a way to become more attractive and impress them ah, or try to change your appearance into one that the other person will like ah. How can you just think about doing something so rude and disrespectful? Don’t you think so too?”

Ye Zun nodded, thinking that he could still communicate when he was normal, or rather, while he did terrible things in some respects, they were done under the stimulation and influence of the Demon God’s Amusement Park. His perception is still that of a normal person, not some underlying antisocial personality.

Mo Fei’s eyes were clear and innocent. “At first, I thought it was someone who spoke the common language that I can have a good chat with, so I wanted to persuade him, but who knows what that guy was thinking. He said some strange and extreme things, then grabbed the knife from my hand. Because he couldn’t kill me, he stabbed himself in the neck, almost spattering my whole body with blood. To tell you the truth, I’m a bit of a clean freak. I can’t bear the smell of blood the most, so I’m feeling a little weak now.”

His drooping eyes were slightly sickly and tired. It seemed that he really was stimulated by the scene, and his complexion was a little pale.

In the classroom, the boy who fell to the ground laid there with two knives piercing his neck.

One was inserted through the neck and stabbed straight into the brain, while the other was stuck horizontally into the neck. The two knives intersected in a beautiful and perfect cross.

Outside the classroom, Mo Fei’s voice said, “Because it’s stabbed up into the brain like this, the view is a bit disgusting. Do you want to take a look? I almost threw up just now.”

Ye Zun stood at the doorway and glanced inside. Seeing the boy lying on his side on the ground, in red and white blood, just one look made his face turn pale with acid reflux surging up his throat.

“Forget it.” Ye Zun walked forward.

It is uncertain whether the murderer who appears in this strange place is a human or a ghost. He did not have enough sympathy to care about the life and death of such a person.

Mo Fei raised his eyebrows slightly, following after him and asking with concern, “The blood on your head, is it serious? How about I treat the wound for you?”

“There’s no need.” It was from the wedding scene before, when a ghost smashed his head with a folding chair.

Ye Zun’s felt a little dizzy in the head, and the unbearable acid reflux may also be related to the shock received from blunt force to the head, but in this life or death situation, he didn’t have time to deal with it, and the relationship he had with the person beside him wasn’t one that let him feel at ease to expose his injuries.

More than half of the reasons why he and Mo Fei went together was that Ye Zun wanted to prevent the other party from causing trouble where he could not see.

Mo Fei nodded. The corners of his lips raised slightly, noncommittal.

Chen Qianqian was missing, and Ye Zun didn’t dare to go into the peach blossom forest again. He knew that this place was also very abnormal, but he still walked along the cherry blossom path, changing directions halfway to head towards the dormitory area.

The cool wind blew past them, misty flowers obstructed their view. The teaching buildings beside the road were like giant monsters, entrenched and peering at them.

Screams came from the nearby teaching building. The girl’s tragic voice was heart-shattering.

Ye Zun froze only for a moment before running towards the teaching area to their right without hesitation.

“Honestly, there is way too much sympathy.” It was obviously a complaint, but it was said with a smile, as if there was nothing one could do about it, while thinking the other person was very cute.

Mo Fei raised his foot and followed with no urgency. Ye Zun had already disappeared into the shadows of the first floor.

In order to prevent humidity, the first floor of the building was empty, dark like an underground parking lot, and the classrooms appeared starting on the second floor. No matter how one looked at it, it was a very suitable setting for some dark and scary stories.

Ye Zun ran up, only hearing the thump thump thump sounds of footsteps running fast, but he couldn’t confirm which floor it came from.

“Where are you? Come out ah, don’t you like the gift I gave you? Baby.”

Faye, who was hiding in the lab, was trembling all over, not daring to make a sound.

When the sulfuric acid was splashed on her, she shielded her face with her coat and the back of her hands. Although it did not cause extensive damage, she clearly felt a few droplets that landed on her face, burning painfully, and she was not certain if it would leave any disfigurements.

Her legs were weak and trembling, and more acid had eaten away at her clothes, which she tore off as she fled.

The sink was right next to her. For her safety, she should stand up and wash the wound quickly with a lot of running water, but she didn’t dare move.

That person had caught up and was looking for her.

The sulfuric acid did not disfigure her, and who knows what that person will do.

Will she be killed, or will she be splashed again?

It was too horrifying to think about.

Faye remembered that she was walking arm in arm with the two other girls, but in the blink of an eye, there was only herself.

She was brainwashed like a fool, had her memories tampered with, and took a stranger as her boyfriend.

But there were two such strangers, and both of them claimed that the other was a bad person while they themselves were good.

She discovered the abnormality of the fake boyfriend, so she trusted the person who warned her with confidence. Who could’ve known that the other person also had no good intentions as soon as the first crisis was resolved.

“They’re all psychos!” She felt that if she left here alive, she would never dare to fall in love again for the rest of her life.

Two men who behave like dogs. One has delusions of living under a green light*; whenever she speaks to the opposite sex, he feels that she is cheating and his touches become violent on her. The other is a straight-up anti-social psychopath; she obviously had nothing to do with him but he felt entitled to her being his possession.

[T/N: green is associated with being cheated on]

With sulfuric acid stored in his pocket at all times, who knows how many girls’ faces have been ruined.

“Scum, bastard! You deserve to never be loved your entire life!” She was not only afraid, but also angry. If there was any chance of retaliation, she would fight them even at the possibility of her own death.

But those two people were obviously ghosts; they were not human. Even if she pushed them down the stairs, they’re able to crawl back to find her in no time.

The scary voice was approaching step by step, growing more and more violent and impatient, cursing ugly words.

Faye’s heartbeat was almost about to stop. She kept thinking about how she would be killed and what kind of inhuman torture she will suffer before she dies.

Just when the fear was about to wipe her mind blank, someone else’s voice suddenly appeared outside.

A sound like glass shattering on the ground, a sound like cursing, the sound of fists hitting flesh.

“Did you think you could just kill me like this?”

“Are you really a ghost?”

Ye Zun grabbed the man’s hair and thrust his face into the broken bottle of sulfuric acid and the solution on the ground.

The sizzling sound of corroded flesh melted together with the man’s screams.

“Are you a psycho? It hurts ah, you asshole!” The man’s screaming voice sounded a little more psychotic.

Ye Zun offered no mercy, putting all his strength into pushing the side of the man’s face against the glass shards and acid on the ground. “You should try feeling this pain yourself. Why do you still do this to others when you know it hurts?”

Ye Zun was still wearing a black shirt. His shoulder was corroded by the splashed acid, turning into a bloody mess.

He suppressed the man with all her strength, but his entire body was shaking slightly in pain.

Faye heard that it was Ye Zun’s voice outside the door and wiped her tears in surprise, wanting to run out to meet him. When she opened her lips to call out “Shen Yuan”, Ye Zun’s pseudonym, she saw someone who was positioned closer to her. It was Mo Fei, who stood not far behind Ye Zun.

Mo Fei stood there, his chin slightly raised. With murky eyes, he quietly looked at Ye Zun in front of him, unblinking.

At this time, he turned his head in her direction. His dark and cold eyes did not conceal the danger in them. He looked at her like he was looking at a dead thing.

Faye froze, not daring to move a single muscle.

A low voice murmured, “You are hurt again, so why do you always take risks for irrelevant people? Even though you are so clearly scared ah. Don’t you want to run? Even I don’t know what will happen.”

Faye stepped back, with alarm bells blaring inside every inch of her body. Before her brain reacted, she ran in the opposite direction from him and Ye Zun’s without sparing a backwards look.

Ye Zun had no time to mind her. He pressed down on the man’s head, throwing one punch after another.

After half of his face was melted by sulfuric acid, the man made a distorted sound that seemed to be a mix of crying and laughter, and his whole body turned into a black mummy under Ye Zun’s assault, weathered into dirt.

Sure enough, his guesses were correct. Only the weapon that is of the same origin as the ghost can kill the ghost itself.

For example, the sulfuric acid held by this ghost, although it only corrodes the face, but because he wants to corrode the faces of other people, he will also be destroyed and disappear if the conditions for this type of disfigurement are met.

Mo Fei frowned and stood in front of Ye Zun, watching him from above, with a downturn and dispirited expression. “You got such a serious wound ah, why did you do this? Do you like that girl?”

Ye Zun stood up, his body wavering, letting out painful and unsteady breaths. He did not dare to look at his own wound.

“I didn’t do this for others. I did it for myself.”

“This kind of ghost obviously only targets women and poses no threat to you, if you didn’t come to him on your own initiative.”

Ye Zun shook his head and walked towards the lab, but the pain was so unbearable that he could hardly stand steadily, and could only lean on the railing.

“It’s not like that. When your strength is low, and while the ghosts you encounter are not very scary, if you can face your fear, then you must face it. Only then can you accumulate experience step by step, and find the conditions needed to deal with these ghosts, and most importantly, gain the ability to resist the fear in your heart. Only then can you become stronger. I thought you were the same.”

The light in Mo Fei’s eyes softened a little. “En, you are right.”

Ye Zun stood up for a while, building up some strength, and with gritted teeth, he walked towards the lab with a forehead covered in cold sweat.

He turned on the tap and quickly rinsed the wound on his shoulder. Pained and trembling gasps continued to escape his throat.

His dizzy head throbbed in pain, and when Mo Fei pushed him to the testing bench, he almost lost the strength to resist.

“What are you doing? Are you going to take this chance to kill me?” He raised his absent-minded eyes, trying to intimidate the enemy who launched a sudden attack, but his wet eyes couldn’t even show the most simple ferocity.

Holding scissors in his left hand, Mo Fei carefully sterilized the wound with alcohol. Hearing him speak, he smiled gently and looked down at him. “I’m just treating the wound.”

He raised his right hand and gently ruffled Ye Zun’s hair.

“Good boy, bear with it a little, it will all be better soon.”

He said he was a clean freak and was sensitive to the smell of blood, but he had no resistance to stroking Ye Zun’s blood-crusted hair.

Ye Zun closed his eyes, opened them again, and watched him quietly, unsure on what kind of person he was.

He didn’t know whether it was out of helplessness or trust, but he had acquiesced to that person’s actions.

Mo Fei’s scissors carefully cut off the fabric on his left shoulder. Because of the acid corrosion, some material had already adhered to the flesh. Ye Zun’s forehead and eyelashes were wet with cold sweat.

His eyes were glazed over, with pale lips pursed but still overflowing with broken sounds of pain, trembling like a whimper. His fingers tightly grasped the edge of the test bench, so hard that his fingertips turned white.

The man’s movements were calm and quick, with almost no unnecessary movements, but he still couldn’t avoid the painful reaction that came with this cleaning process.

The wounds were all exposed very quickly, and he carefully applied the medicine on the trembling injured skin with a cotton ball.

The lines of the young man’s shoulders, neck and collarbone were perfect, even with this kind of injury, there was no loss of his beauty at all, only earthing up feelings of tragedy and awe.

He applied the medicine very quickly. Flowing water washed over his smooth hands until they were clean, and he slightly bowed his head and lowered his eyes to the wound. The expression on his face was focused and calm, without any more emotion than necessary, and finally he wrapped the bandages around and around, gently and meticulously.

Ye Zun lifted his head slightly. His slender neck was tense, the knot on his throat constantly sliding up and down from unbearable pain. Disordered breathing and the suspected agonising crunch of vocal cords were mixed with subtly suppressed heavy breathing, in unison with the continuously shivering body.

Those hands bandaging his body had always been steady, but they were moving faster and faster, so fast that it is uncertain whether they were executed smoothly and proficiently, or if the other party had also been affected by Ye Zun.

The man who was calm until the last knot was tied, suddenly raised his right hand, and abruptly covered Ye Zun’s wide open eyes.

The author has something to say:

Demon Lord: I don’t like him getting hurt because of others, but I like watching him in pain because of me
