‘Who was that crazy b**tch? What about the perfect Lady Luciella that I saw,’ wondered Ella.

“W-what’s this?!” stammered Ella.

“It’s what Luciella, the owner of your body, did to the first guest, Clara. It’s also what Clara did in response to her.”

“That happened? But.”

While the man spoke in the past tense, Ella saw that memory as the future. Or, it was another version of the novel that Ranhee had read. It started the same but began running in different directions until it turned into something entirely different. She found it difficult to describe what it was.

“Don’t pretend you don’t know. You thought there was something weird with this world. Didn’t you?” stated the man.

Ella’s lips closed in response to him pointing that out. The memory he showed her was so weird, but so were the slums she saw yesterday. A world made perfect choices for thousands of years? That was so strange. She then thought of the theory that she didn’t want to believe in and shook her head.

“See? You know the answer. Stop pretending like you don’t know. I wouldn’t have come here if you never thought of it. That pipsqueak you were searching for would have been here instead. You’re the first person to come to that conclusion within a week after meeting Clara. I see the price we paid to bring you here was correct.”

He made his voice excited intentionally while watching Ella coldly. However, she didn’t notice that. She couldn’t wake herself up from the shock he gave her.

“Are you doing that over and over again until you reach a satisfying conclusion? While changing the guest you spoke of?”

She truly did make up for the price it cost to bring her here. The man made a satisfied smile. It wasn’t the perfect answer, but her theory was close. No other guests reached such a conclusion in their first meeting.

It’s close, but it’s a little different,” answered the man.

“How different,” asked Ella.

His explanation, although simple, was also complicated. This world kept on bringing foreigners and maintained a symbiotic relationship. But when an issue occurred, it paid the price to bring in guests. The invited guest was like the key that led to trouble. The world kept inviting guests until the problem was solved, repeating it multiple times until it was. This was why Clara was invited. If there was a problem, the world paid to invite a guest over. However, those things happened.

‘The guest was brought over to save the world from trouble was actually the cause of even greater problems. What a disaster,’ thought Ella while shaking her head at the memory the man had shown her earlier. The world thought similarly, so they immediately fixed the return point.

‘To the point after Clara and Cladis had met.’

And with that, Clara, the guest, was imprisoned in this world. Now, she was one of the problems a new guest had to solve, repeating time again and again until it was solved.

So, you really want me to save this world? I thought you didn’t expect me to take up arms,” said Ella.

“Hey, heroes don’t always take up arms. Do they? Aren’t all heroes in your world like that?”

Ella then realized what he meant by the word “heroes.” Heroes don’t need to be like Superman or Iron Man. An ordinary man who runs into a burning building to bring out people was considered a hero at that instant. The situation didn’t need to be to the extent that it was life-threatening. People who volunteered to save people hurt from an accident were also heroes. Some might say that wasn’t enough to be deemed a hero, but Ranhee always thought all of them were heroes.

“It seems your world is a much better place to live than what I’ve heard,” commented the man.

“No. It’s a mess. It’s a big messy frame, but the people living there are good.”
