“What……..?”

Do you mean me?

She knew it wasn’t directed at her, of course, but Nina threw it like a joke.

Fiona shook her head.

“No, it’s not that, there’s a strange man in the next room!”

“A strange man?”

“Yes! Well, strange to me at least!”

Fiona bit her lips and her expression changed drastically. Her tone of voice also changed.

“You’re a saint who believes that the world’s affairs can be solved by whining. You lived a very comfortable life.” (Fiona)

If you listen up to that point, you will know who she was imitating. Nina made an “Ah.” Face and Fiona continued with incredulity.

“Really, what kind of unlucky person is that?!”

“I’m sorry…….”

“Why is Dame Nina apologizing?”

Fiona’s voice was sharp. She seemed to question whether Nina had ordered it or not.

“Well, because you are our guest and you have experienced inconveniences. Besides, that ‘unlucky person’ is my friend.”

“That person?”

“Yes, I have no intention of denying that he’s quite….unlucky to be near…, but I am sorry for the damage.”

Fiona took a deep breath and told Nina.

“You’d better be picky about your friends, Miss Nina. It’s advice from an experienced person.”

Nina smiled bitterly because Fiona’s voice was as soft as teaching a child.

“I see-.”

And before Nina could finish her words, a sarcastic voice flew in.

“At least Nina has never been betrayed by her friend. You’re the one who’s betrayed, not her.”

“Ah, Randell.”

Stop.

Please.

Randell walked out of Fiona’s room and said while handing a pillow to her.

“When you throw someone else’s bedding, don’t throw them outside. A goose-feathered pillow is too expensive for you to handle.”

Fiona snatched the pillow he held out and said.

“Idiot.”

“Can you only curse because you can’t communicate with words?”

“Jerk.”

“I feel sorry for an idiot who can only swear.”

“Grouchy.”

Pff, Nina laughed, and Randell glared at her. She grabbed him and bent his back to Fiona.

“I’m really sorry-.”

“Why is Dame Nina apologizing?!”

“Why are you apologizing?”

Randell, who was grabbed by the scruff of his neck, and Fiona shouted at the same time. Nina stood straight and looked at the two of them alternately. Fiona said.

“Dame Nina shouldn’t apologize for a friend. He’s the one who should apologize!”

Like a spear, Fiona pointed at Randell with her fingertip as if to poke him, and he nodded.

“The problem is that I have no intention of apologizing.”

“Yes, because you have a messy personality.”

Fiona spat it out with a nonchalant face, and Nina admired, ‘As expected people who lived on the hard street are different.’

“Go and finish your business. Dame Nina, I’m sorry for the disturbance.”

“No, please call me whenever you need me.”

“Can I really call for you?”

“One of my strengths is that I don’t talk nonsense.”

Fiona smiled broadly.

“Thank you.”

“It was nothing.”

Fiona bounced back into the room, pounding and puffing the pillow.

“Look at that personality.”

Nina rolled her eyes as Randell whispered from behind her.

“What are you doing to my guest?”

“I am a guest too.”

“Randell is my friend. Fiona was the one who had recently come in with a serious injury.”

“She’s full of energy to look like a person in need of rest.”

“Be careful when talking to people. What’s good about hurting her? You don’t want to be hurt either.”

“Not really.”

Randell looked away while replying, Nina put her hand on her waist and sighed.

‘It’s getting better little by little….but….what to do with this 8th-grade syndrome.’

Is it okay for the Male Lead and the Female Lead to meet like this?…

‘Is it the standard of romance comedy to meet while fighting each other? Then these two people…’

I don’t think it’s going to work out at all when I see it happening in real life.

‘Let’s just give up.’

Who knew I would get a confession from Adrian? It’s wrong to try to predict human relationships from the book – or possession or regression or whatnot.

“If you keep doing this, I won’t give you a present.”

“Present?”

Randell was tempted and Nina smiled at the bright, child-like expression on his face.

“Yes.”

“What gift?”

“It’s a secret.”

To her words, Randell said, “If you are thinking of bribing me.”.

“It’s a gift, not a bribe.”

Nina corrected.

Randell nodded and left with a smug look on his face. Perhaps he has never received a gift from a friend.

Nina glanced into Fiona’s room. Randell knew most things about Fiona, so she thought she should tell Fiona about Randell later.

She adjusted her clothes again and headed to Adrian’s office. Knocking on the door politely she went inside, and Adrian raised his head.

“Nina.”

He greeted her with the usual smile and made Nina feel confused. Adrian was desperately trying to maintain his usual calmness. He woke up early in the morning because of it.

Nina didn’t see him as a man, then he had no choice but to start from there.

“Young Master, are you very busy?”

“No, now…it’s over.”

He signed the paperwork and handed it over to the servant who was waiting next to him. The servant bowed deeply to Nina. She was startled by the exaggerated gesture because the servant was Jack.

‘Lack of attention.’

Nina greeted with a sigh.

“Hello, Jack.”

“What’s the matter? You didn’t recognize me right away.”

Jack asked with a grin.

“Um, well. I’ve been busy.”

“Didn’t you have too much fun yesterday?”

Nina smirked at Jack’s teasing remark.

“A lot of things happened yesterday… Oh, were you watching?”

“No way.”

Jack waved his hand and looked at the two of them in turn.

“Then I will leave so you can talk.”

Jack stepped down, leaving only the two of them in the office. There was a subtle mood in the air.

Should I mention yesterday or not?

Should I move on?

Adrian opened his mouth first.

“Nina-.”

At that time, the world was colored with intense white light like lightning.

────── •❆• ──────

When Nina came to her senses, Adrian was holding her tight.

‘Obviously, this is Adrian’s hug.’

Nina was lying down under him. But his arms wrapped around her, so Nina felt rather protected.

The world was black and white

‘Oh, we’re in the shadows.’

Nina felt Adrian’s arms and shoulders that hugged her tightly. Her face rested against his chest, and a loud heartbeat was heard.

His fear was felt from his stout arm strength, it showed how much he valued her.

Broad shoulders, solid body, warmth. The sound of his heart, and the power of his strength.

Things that were nothing new slid into Nina anew.

His tangled hard thighs bothered her. His legs were much longer than hers, perhaps the difference in height was due to the length of their legs. Nina wiggled and Adrian asked softly.

“Are you okay?”

Nina hasn’t said anything since before, so he was quite worried.

“Un…….”

The answer that came back was awkward, so he quickly rolled around and in an instant, Nina, who had fallen beneath him, let out a small groan.

Immediately Adrian pulled her away from him.

Holding on to his weight with his elbows and knees, he looked at Nina with a strained face.

“Where are you hurt? Are you okay?”

“I’m fine.”

Nina stretched her arms out in an urge to put them around his shoulders and bury her face in the nape of his neck, but Adrian avoided it. Nina shrugged her hand in embarrassment and turning his gaze away, Adrian said.

“Well, let’s get up.”

Adrian looked around, stood up, and got Nina up. He had a respectful attitude, but not as friendly as it used to be.

The world was back in color.

Adrian looked out the window and smiled bitterly.

Nina’s barrier surrounded the entire mansion. The Frost pattern engraved on the window was beautiful.

No wonder her reaction was a bit slow.

“For some reason, my eyes are itchy when I come out of the shadow like this. What the hell was that light?”

Nina rubbed her eyes. Adrian thought it was cute and after staring at her for a moment.

“I don’t know. But soon…” (Adrian)

Bang! Bang!

“Your Grace, are you okay? I’m going in!”

“We will find out.” (Adrian)
