Chapter 545: Internal Friction

Bang!

Everyone seated within the room fell unconscious immediately under Hazen’s actions, shocking Rhizen, Immortal, Stencil, and Compass Carburettor himself. After all, he could sense intense anger emanating from within Hazen.

“These bastards caused countless deaths and sufferings!” Hazen stated, gritting his teeth, intending to go in for the kill when Compass Carburettor hurriedly stopped him.

Crack!

Suddenly, one of Hazen’s ethereal legs shattered in response. After all, he had taken an offensive action against someone. As the embodiment of the Harbinger of Serenity, he wasn’t supposed to attack anyone, not to mention kill them.

And since he had attacked the group of people, part of his body shattered in response. If he were to keep up with the same, then he would die soon after, having gone against the very foundation of his existence.

“Stop it, Hazen!” Compass Carburettor shouted in response, exerting his power to constrict the other party. At the same time, Domino Plottopia and Gahrat too appeared, holding him down to prevent him from self-destructing out of anger.

“Why are you stopping me?” Hazen bellowed, “Everyone here has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people just for selfish reasons.”

“Know better, Hazen.” Compass Carburettor said, feeling a severe headache as Hazen’s thoughts boomed in his mind, causing him and the other two selves of him to grunt in pain.

As the Harbinger of Serenity, Hazen despised anyone that sparked suffering for selfish gains. And, more than twenty among the group in this room had been Hosts to the Luck-based Systems that caused a lot of chaos in the Cultivation World.

So, he wished to put an end to them despite the price he had to pay—his life.

“Did you forget that they were Systems Hosts at that point?” Gahrat said slowly, “Don’t look at things one-sidedly. Things happened for a reason, that’s that. Don’t stir up things that don’t matter here.”

“Don’t matter…?” Hazen glared at Gahrat, “Are you seriously saying this to me?”

“Gah!” Suddenly, Hazen gasped for breath as Compass Carburettor forcefully reeled him in.

He panted in response, clutching his head as Hazen’s shouts boomed in his mind, exerting his control to forcefully suppress Hazen down.

And only he was capable of this, forming the major component of the Main Character, also the wielder of the Core Skill of Lore.

Upon seeing that Hazen was retracted successfully, Domino Plottopia nodded in response before vanishing.

Gahrat then looked around, snapping her finger as everyone began to wake up. She then looked at Compass Carburettor, “We each embody a different concept. So, there’s bound to be friction in the future, even though we are one and the same. It hasn’t been long since we formed but there’s already some disagreement.”

She then said, “It’s for the best if we go our separate ways once this is done. This way, we’ll all work towards the same goal through our respective ideology.”

“I understand,” Compass Carburettor sighed, “At present, my views and Hazen’s conflict the most.”

He embodied wealth, having the innate nature of a merchant that sought profits. But, Hazen embodied peace at the cost of everything else. Both of them had common grounds but also had a lot of conflicting thoughts.

It was depicted here clearly. As it was a give-and-take relationship, Compass Carburettor planned to help Rhizen. After all, Rhizen’s plans would create another strong ally to face the Systems on his behalf.

So, he worked with him.

But for Hazen, such things didn’t matter. After all, the System Hosts on Rhizen’s side had all killed tens of thousands of people each, plunging a lot of others into despair and suffering all for their goal of killing the Main Character.

Even if they had been System Hosts, it wasn’t as if they were entirely controlled either. Sure, they had to do this to protect their world. But, that didn’t alleviate their actions of slaughter.

And in that vein, Compass Carburettor too had killed his fair share of people, even though he was mostly retaliating against the foes that sought to kill him.

‘This will continue to increase.’ He sighed, massaging his forehead as his headache gradually calmed down. It was because Hazen had turned silent.

Gahrat then brought out Gana and Grisha, staring at the two as she said, “Good work, you two.”

“…Yes.” The two ladies answered in a daze, unable to concentrate on who they had to talk with.

After all, Gahrat embodied everything Compass Carburettor had experienced in the Apocalypse World. So, it was as if she was the one that had been a part of all those memories.

And this caused the two ladies to feel somewhat unnerved. After all, in their memories, Compass Carburettor was a man.

But, the one they shared a connection with now wasn’t Compass Carburettor but Gahrat instead, an old woman.

Gana was the first one to adapt to the changes, kneeling on the ground as she greeted in response, “I stare at you, Lord Gahrat.”

It was how she had been addressing Compass Carburettor all along. And hence, a change in gender didn’t affect her all too much. In her eyes, Gahrat was already a deity. Moreover, the Coordinate in her was resonating with Gahrat, and not Compass Carburettor.

Grisha stared at Compass Carburettor, unable to make sense of things. After all, she was staring at the familiar figure that felt like a stranger all of a sudden.

In contrast, the stranger that was Gahrat felt familiar, someone close to her.

“You’re feeling this disconnect because everything you experienced with the Compass Carburettor of the past is now a part of me.” Gahrat said, gently patting Grisha’s shoulder, “As for the Coordinates, they seemed to have been distributed between the four of us strangely. And the coordinate in you now originates from me.”

Honestly, even they themselves were yet to adjust to this. Until now, all these abilities were wielded by one person. But now, Secret Society was in the possession of Domino Plottopia while Gahrat had the Dimensional Space.

So, the bestowal of Coordinates was something only Domino Plottopia could do from here on. But, the Coordinates in Grisha and Gana belonged to Gahrat instead.

‘It’s a mess.’ Compass Carburettor sighed, wondering if he had made a mistake. After all, even though the current him was many times stronger than the Apocalypse World Compass Carburettor, his abilities were less versatile in nature, having been split into the other three entities.
