Chapter 144: Layla's Grand Magic

After Reylin spat out more flames than usual, the seal dispersed, leaving Zamram and his people open!
Those were suicidal fools that Reylin didn't want to fight with.
His party did well keeping them busy, however!
Thus, Reylin's dragon wings flapped, and he rose to the sky!
From above, he parted his lips and widely opened his jaw. His helmet followed his eyes, exposing a little part of his body.
In an instant, Reylin let a terrifying flamethrower out of his mouth!
Those scarlet flames rushed at Zamram!
'Let's see his reaction,' Reylin thought as his eyes hovered on the armored royalty.
Zamram did nothing, which was expected.
Otherwise, his words about dark armor would amount to nothing, which would be a blow to his pride and his family's status.
His horse also didn't move.
The flames splashed and their howling form extended through Zamram's whole body. It clawed his armor, to no avail.
Beneath his helmet, Zamram smirked as his eyes pierced through Reylin!
Reylin descended in a speed akin to teleportation, then let out a kick toward Zamram's smirking face! That kick likewise didn't leave any dent behind.
One kick wasn't enough to satiate Reylin, however.
He kicked a few times, then slammed his fist with his flames, coating it wholly!
To no avail!
All attempts to leave a dent and scratch failed, leaving the Crimson Dragon smirking, "Such a high-quality armor. How many of those do you have? If Hans used his own armor, I guess he wasn't worthy of wearing it.
One... Two... Three? Three at most, am I right?" Reylin sneered.
Even if those armors proved to be an impossible challenge, he still would find a gap in them and use them against the dark matter people!
He could only find such a gap now.
Those words contorted Zamram's confident face, and he looked like he tasted a shit.
Reylin didn't miss it, though it lasted just a second.
His smirk grew deeper, then Reylin distanced himself.
He grabbed Emilia and put her on his back. She saddled his Crimson Armor without any problem as it was not the first time she rode him.
Steel Melody got a rough treatment.
Reylin just grasped her armor, then flew up!
"I am flying again! That's so cool! I want Steel Wings too! Damn it!" She didn't mind it at all!
Reylin didn't have much time, so he decided to find Lioness and use their team to protect himself before the heavy toil would affect him.
He noticed his girlfriend on the battlefield's front.
She had taken down a few generals already, and it seemed like the battle would be soon won with how many casualties the Blue Rose Kingdom had suffered.
The soldiers and mages began turning away in the blink of an eye!
Reylin smiled with pride as Lioness' abilities became stronger after the dark matter event!
However, the event didn't stop yet!
In the sky, an unfamiliar Grand Skill conjured itself.
A few magic circles appeared, and they shone with scarlet color!
That color and familiar vibe left Reylin with eyes widely open. He stared at those circles, then found the person who brought them into the sky!
It was his High Mage, Layla.
She was in a trance, a trance unfamiliar to her.
In that trance, Layla saw nothing but flames. Mana promptly turned into fire, and although the process was fast, it was beautiful that Layla would never forget it.
She never had any trance like that, even a few years ago when she had made her first grand skill! That was her second time, and Layla didn't believe in its success.
But as that trance appeared, she saw how blue mana turned into scarlet flames, her heart drummed with confidence!
The magic circles spat out fire bolts one by one! They were fast and quite sparkling!
Those fire bolts descended onto escaping soldiers and mages.
Layla didn't kill them but left life-threatening wounds on their bodies. They no longer moved and cried in anguish, which the players gawked at the scene with bewilderment!
Then, the magic circles coalesced into one!
"N-No! Wait for a second! There's no need!" Layla shouted as she waved her hands at her own skill!
She wanted to break her staff, but that would only hurt her future!
The big magic circle spat out a fire rock.
That fire rock flew toward people such as High Mages and Generals... It blasted them before their bodies turned around to respond to that skill!
And that final blast didn't spare anyone!
High Mages and Generals died beneath the flaming rock!
Layla parted her lips, "Since when I am so good with fire magic? Why?" She didn't understand her urge to suddenly try that grand magic.
If the battle turned south and their forces started losing against the Blue Rose Kingdom, Layla would've used it as well. She didn't want to propose grand magic as the opener as she didn't have much confidence in herself.
But as the forces started escaping, something within Layla urged her to just throw that grand magic and make a show.
Many players from the backline stared at that mysterious resident.
And one of them said, "Isn't that Crown Reylin's girlfriend?"
"That's true! That's the Sweet Layla!" One of the mages came to them and spoke Layla's nickname as she had helped many mages from the alliance!
And that was how Layla's fame rose!

"I knew Layla had completed Grand Magic in the past but wasn't it too strong? What did you do to her?" Emilia believed in Layla's talent, but she couldn't stop thinking that Reylin had given her something else.
