Fortunately, I had good eyesight, and it was not difficult to find the cave where I had spent two nights with Enoch.

However, contrary to expectations, Enoch was not in the cave.

I was dumbfounded as I stood in front of the cave with the first aid kit in my hands.

I never imagined he would leave.

Did he go to the female lead? He may have met Yuanna while I was away. Yeah, if he met her, of course, he would leave me without any regrets.

A flood of sadness came over me. Even more so because my life was threatened a while ago and I missed him very much.

After spending a few days with him, I seem to have gotten to know him.

Are all his wounds healed? He seemed to have improved a lot, though.

It was not easy to walk away, but without Enoch, there was no reason to stay here. I’ll have to find the bunker on my own, as originally planned. Anyway, I will survive alone.

‘Yeah. I’ll do it according to my original plan.’

I made up my mind and left the cave.

And then, I ran into a man standing in front of the cave.

Black hair, golden eyes, and even the faint tear dot under his left eye.

The colorful uniform was torn in several places. The man stood still looking at me with a surprised face.

It was Enoch.

I couldn’t see the wound on his forearm because he was wearing a jacket, but when I looked at the complexion on his face, he seemed fine.

“Ah…… I thought you were gone. Your body looks fine. What a relief.”

Then I smiled a little awkwardly and held up the first aid kit in my hands.

“I told you I was going to look for herbs. I found them. It’s not an herb to be precise, but a first aid kit.”

It was only after the gibberish that I belatedly realized that he would not know the word ‘first aid kit.’

Enoch’s gaze slowly went down, staring at the first aid kit I held in my hands.

After staring at the first aid kit for a long time, he suddenly staggered towards me. Then he gritted his teeth and looked at me fiercely.

The momentum was so bloody that I took a step backward. But the farther I went, the closer he got to me.

“Are you okay?”

Enoch asked me in a voice that seemed to contain anger. I nodded with a puzzled look.

“……Your Highness?”

I called him out of curiosity, and he looked at me with a cold face, not knowing what he was thinking, and opened his mouth,

“Enoch.”

“Yes?”

“Call me Enoch.”

“Yes……? Why?”

Enoch contorted his eyebrows with an angry look at my question. Then he gently bit his lower lip and looked at me with a regretful expression.

For a moment, I feel my heart pounding.

‘Wow……’

A face like that is against the law.

As expected, people tend to change when they are driven into extreme environments. Is that why? Or is it because the relationship glorifies over time?

“I won’t get hurt, so don’t do anything dangerous to find such a medicinal plant.”

Enoch grabbed my shoulders. Then he rests his forehead lightly against mine. The tip of my nose that touched his nose tickled.

And I knew then. His hands on my shoulders are trembling slightly.

“I was worried.”

I stopped breathing for a moment in a low voice I heard right in front of me.

In an instant, I almost fell for him.

Oh, it was really dangerous. Why, why are you doing this all of a sudden?

***

Enoch came to his senses.

He doesn’t know how much time has passed. The cool afternoon air touched the tip of his nose.

He lay down for a moment, blinking his eyes and looking around. Then he cautiously got up and sat down. A sharp pain came from his forearm.

He narrowed his brow and looked down at his left arm. A white cloth was wrapped around his arm, and it was a piece of Margaret’s dress.

‘Where is Margaret?’

He was lying in a familiar cave, and outside the cave, he could see the red sunset sky.

The sun was setting. In other words, it was dangerous to go outside at this hour. That’s the pattern he came up with as a result of his observations with Margaret.

The monsters that were attacking him and Margaret did not appear during the day, but only appeared around the time it was getting dark.

Enoch looked around again carefully. In the cave, there was only him. Margaret seemed to be out of the cave.

“I’ll get some herbs. I’ll be right back, so please wait.”

Come to think of it, Margaret had said something like this while he was unconscious.

“Damn it.”

Enoch got up hastily from his seat. He held a wooden rod in his hand which he had placed on the wall of the cave. He had made it as a weapon substitute.

He should have had a dagger if he had known he would be in a situation like this. But he was working in the Imperial Palace until just before he opened his eyes on this unfamiliar island. So he can’t possibly have a weapon or something.

He checked the wooden rod once and looked outside the cave. Still, there were no signs of Margaret.

owooooo.

A wolf howl echoed through the bushes. Enoch gripped the wooden stick firmly and looked around in a ready posture.

“Where the hell did she go?”

He searched the area around the cave, struggling to hold back any swear words. However, there were no signs of Margaret.

She has no stamina and is weak. With such a body, she will not be able to survive this night when monsters are roaming around.

While Enoch gritted his teeth and wandered through the forest, the sun went down and the dark night came.

Still, he did not give up looking for Margaret.

Why did he do this? If it were him as usual, he wouldn’t have thought of finding her at the risk of losing his own life. But now, he just couldn’t leave her alone.

“People tend to change when they are driven into extreme environments.”

Obviously, she wasn’t the Margaret he knew. He was sure of it.

“I thought your love for me has grown. You bastard. Has your love changed?”

And there were some strange corners. There was such a strange feeling that it was not enough to say that she had changed.

Was it because she was suddenly pushed into an extreme environment, as she said?

He wiped the sweat running down his temple with the back of his hand. And he looked around, with his nerves sharp.

Somewhere in this forest, Margaret may be trembling in fear waiting for help.

Suddenly, Enoch realized that he had been too harsh on the woman who had a terrible crush on him, and his heart became heavy.

I can’t even protect the woman who only stares at me.

When I thought that far, my stomach felt full and I couldn’t stand it.

I’ve been confident that I’m polite and a gentleman, but……

As Margaret said, people tend to change when they are driven into extreme environments. Or maybe his nature has rotted from the beginning.

“This is a coconut fruit that grows on a palm tree. The water in this coconut is great for rehydration.”

“There must be caves at the bottom of such a cliff. But the road to get there can be dangerous.”

Since waking up on this island, Margaret has been working tirelessly to help him. Most of the amazing knowledge she had was not even known to him.

Would he have been able to live until now without her?

It was all thanks to her that he was still alive.

Enoch lamented again. Margaret was willing to help him without hesitation, but why was he being so mean to her?

She must have been terrified of waking up in an unfamiliar place, too. There were only the two of them on the island, with no one to depend on.

“You should know that you’re still a suspect. When I return to the Empire, I will investigate the situation properly, so you must not die without my permission.”

He only said heartless words to her, who had no place to lean on. He couldn’t survive without her on this unfamiliar island, Enoch thought.

He only realized it now.

“Damn……”

He muttered and prayed in a low voice.

May she be alive.

May she be safe.

Eventually, Enoch wandered through the forest until sunrise to find Margaret.

It was really fortunate that he didn’t run into any monsters all night, but he still hadn’t found Margaret.

Maybe if she had been hiding from the monsters, she would come back when the sun came up.

He returned to the cave with one last hope.

It was when he approached the cave with uncertain expectations.

A woman with a familiar face was walking out of the cave.

Her white-blonde hair shone even more dazzlingly in the sunlight, and she looked as beautiful as an angel who came down from heaven.

‘Oh, okay. I have to admit that I’m finally crazy.’

Actually, it wasn’t wrong. It’s because he has been looking for her all night long in a dangerous forest where monsters might come out in groups.

She had a bewildered face as she looked at him. There was an unknown white box in her hand.

“Ah…… I thought you were gone. Your body looks fine. What a relief.”

She said as she held out the white box in her hand.

“I told you I was going to look for herbs. I found them. It’s not an herb to be precise, but a first aid kit.”

Maybe she wandered through the forest all night in search of a medicinal herb to heal his wounds.

Enoch bit his lip.

Margaret was also a woman who would do anything for him. She tried so hard to save him with such a small body…… It must be difficult.

What is the reason you love me so much that you risk your own life? Enoch suddenly wondered about it.

“Enoch.”

“Yes?”

“Call me Enoch,” he said impulsively.
