He had a slightly lethargic look, maybe because he still had a fever.

I don’t know if it’s because of his intense eyes or because of his aura that overwhelms me, but I couldn’t even think of pushing him away.

“There’s no way you’re Margaret.”

That’s what he said as soon as he woke up.

His determination that I wasn’t Margaret made me avoid his gaze.

“What do you mean, if I’m not Margaret, who am I?”

“I don’t know that either. But whoever you are, please remain as you are now.”

‘Do you want me to stay the way I am now……?’

Judging from his expression, it seemed like Kayden didn’t know anything. But somehow, it was certain that those words gave me great comfort.

“When you ran in to kill those monsters, I thought I was going crazy.”

Kayden clenched his teeth.

“No matter how much I think about it, I don’t think it was because I couldn’t control my emotions.”

He tilted his head calmly.

I stared blankly at his lips then at his sharp jawline.

“If I’m really interested in you, what are you going to do, Margaret?”

As he whispered, my mind went blank. I couldn’t say anything and just held my breath.

I blocked Kayden’s approaching mouth that seemed to be kissing me, with my hand.

Kayden opened his eyes wide as if surprised for a moment, then smiled softly and left a tickling kiss on the palm of my hand.

“Huh? Margaret, answer me.”

He grabbed my wrist and pressed his lips to my palm. My fingers twitched as I felt his breath tickle on the palm of my hand.

I let go of my hand from his, and he surprisingly didn’t hold me back.

“What do you mean? What kind of answer do you want to an ambiguous question like that?”

I rubbed my wrist, tilted my head slightly, and asked him.

“You still have doubts about me.”

Kayden bit his lip as if he was stunned at my question.

“For now, let’s just think about surviving on this island.”

Whether his interest in the female lead is directed towards me or not, the important thing is, will it be the same after escaping this remote island?

Kayden Blake Rohde.

Although he is not using much power on this remote island right now, he was one of the greatest wizards on the continent and was the Lord of Tower.

Would such a great man say that he loves Margaret, whom he hates so much, even after escaping this island?

There is something called the Misattribution of Arousal.

Your heart doesn’t beat because of love, but because your heart beats, you mistake it for love.

People often experience this kind of phenomenon while traveling, but they experience a similar phenomenon even if they go through hardship together in an extreme environment like we are now.

In addition, Kayden has not yet met the female lead, Yuanna.

“But……”

“What are you doing now?”

When Kayden opened his mouth to refute my words, just in time, Ruzef appeared and pulled Kayden away from me.

He stood in front of me, blocking Kayden from my sight and looking at Kayden like he was a molester.

“You unscrupulous wizard……!”

Ruzef raised one arm and blocked my way as if protecting me.

“Do wizards have no manners?”

In response to Ruzef’s question, Kayden crossed his arms and answered angrily,

“It’s not something I want to hear from a disrespectful priest.”

“If I hadn’t treated you, do you think you would have survived?”

Kayden shrugged and replied in a tone that was not grateful at all.

“I don’t die easily anyway. I have a body that has no choice but to do so.”

What do you mean by you have a body that has no choice but to do so?

“Kayden, what do you mean by—”

“Margaret!”

I was about to ask what Kayden’s words meant, but Enoch hugged me tightly.

Then he covered my cheeks with his hands and looked me up and down.

Whether it was because of the tear dot under his left eye, or perhaps because his face had turned a little red from the fever, his eyes looked enchanting today.

“Are you hurt?”

“I am fine.”

“Where did you get hurt?”

“I am fine.”

“Where does it hurt?”

“I am fine, really.”

Then he hugged me again with a relieved face. He buried his face in my shoulder and took a deep breath, as if sniffing my body.

“Do you know how I felt when you ran to the monster?”

Enoch raised his head again, looked at my face, and said firmly,

“Don’t ever do such a reckless thing again.”

And as soon as he finished speaking, Kayden, who was standing next to him, responded with annoyance,

“I hope you haven’t forgotten that Ddaggari and I are here too.”

Only then did Enoch’s gaze reach Kayden.

Then, Kayden’s fierce eyes and Enoch’s bloody eyes met.

I hurriedly intervened when I saw a nerve war between the two began.

“I’m fine, but I don’t think you two are. I’ll check your condition.”

I brought my first-aid kit and went through Kayden and Enoch’s wounds in turn.

Ruzef, with a sullen face, didn’t even come close to us, probably because Enoch and Kayden didn’t thank him.

Then, when it was time for dinner, I picked some fruit and ate them.

But I don’t have an appetite, so I stopped eating and brought the trunks that I cut during the day, to complete the shoes.

It’s not straw shoes, but I have to make something similar. I really can’t wear flat shoes.

I looked at Enoch as I shaved off the bark of the tree trunk once and smoothing the sharp parts, and asked,

“Have you heard about the situation from the Archbishop about those monsters?”

Then Enoch looked straight at me.

“It seems that the corpse of that monster was the problem. I think they came by smelling it. When they first appeared, they were still roaming around the corpse.”

It was just like Ruzef said.

Did the dead anaconda monster really lay an egg as Ruzef said, and when it died, other monsters flocked to protect the female and the young?

This is a pretty reasonable hypothesis.

If there were really an egg in the womb, would the baby in the egg also be dead?

After all, there was no way to know.

Kayden sat with his hand on his chin while eating grapes with an indifferent face.

“I thought there were only wolf-type monsters, but snakes……”

“It seems that there are other types of monsters as well. When the sun is set, we need to be extra careful.”

Ruzef and I nodded at Enoch’s words.

“Enoch, when you saw the blood last time, it seemed that you managed to keep your senses. Do you remember?”

At my question, Enoch, who was eating the fruit, narrowed his forehead. He shook his head as he pondered with a troubled look on his face.

“I don’t remember. I don’t know how I did it.”

“Hmm. Still, it’s a good sign that you can survive with your mental strength. Maybe you can recover from the trauma. Think carefully about how you felt at that time.”

I wish him a speedy recovery from his trauma. There are too many situations where we will see blood on this island.

I started making shoe soles by weaving tree trunks into knots.

Enoch, Kayden, and Ruzef looked at me blankly. Why are you staring at me like that?

It is absolutely impossible to make it into a solid shoe shape like straw shoes anyway, so I have to make it into a slipper shape so that I can wear it. Until I find modern clothes and shoes, shouldn’t I put up with this?

“We really should move to a safer place.”

Everyone fell silent again at my words. Well, the hut by the river was also painstakingly built, before being destroyed by the monsters.

Kayden scratched his head in annoyance, and said,

“How the hell am I supposed to get off this damn island?”

“I wish I had a clue about the escape gate, but it’s difficult. First of all, it seems that Alea, whom I talked about earlier, left a clue, so why not look for it?”

After listening to Kayden, I made another suggestion to them. Three men looked at me at my words.

Archbishop Ruzef asked me with a puzzled face, “Alea?”

I pulled my flare gun from the pocket of my dress and showed it to him.

“I think Alea is the owner of this magic tool. In addition, the name Alea was engraved on a cliff.”

Ruzef looked surprised when he saw the word Alea engraved on the flare gun.

“The first-aid kit is also in the Eastern Continent language, isn’t it?”

I nodded at his question.

When we escape from this island, it will be revealed that it is not in an Eastern Continental language, but at least while we are on this island, nothing will be revealed. There is absolutely no excuse that I can think of at the moment.

“Margaret is right. We need to find a clue first. So far, all we have found on this island is Alea.”

At Enoch’s words, I nodded.

“Maybe there really is an escape gate as Kayden said. There are magic tools and monsters, we can’t guarantee that there won’t be anything else on this island.”

Enoch, Kayden, and Ruzef nodded as if they agreed with my words.

“I think it would be better to explore the whole island rather than settle in one place for long.”

“The whole island? When I climbed the mountain and saw it, it’s a lot bigger than I thought, Margaret.”

When Kayden refuted my words, Enoch defended me again.

“I know. It can’t be said that this island is small, but if you have to explore it to survive, why not?”

Enoch’s words had some power that seemed to have to be followed. Maybe it’s because he was the commander of the army and a person who would lead the empire.

Anyway, this time, even Kayden could not refute and kept his mouth shut.

Once you scout the island and look around, you can get at least one more hidden item, which increases your chances of survival.

Cowardly, I was still silent about the bunker map. It’s really my last card.

“Margaret is right. We have to do something.”

At Enoch’s words, everyone remained silent.

So, we finally decided to explore and look for shelter the next day.

I finally finished the slippers and put them on. Woah, they fit my feet perfectly.

Well…… I pretended not to know that the three men blushed at my bare feet.
