As someone with extensive experience in the officialdom, this was something that was easily within hand’s reach. By the time he returned to his new residence, nightfall had already settled in.
Chu Jiao had been patiently waiting for a long time for Shen Zhen’s return, however, seeing that it was already late, she had her meal with Lin Wenyue first and instructed the kitchen to set aside some leftovers for Shen Zhen to eat when he got home.
After being on the road for about half a month, Chu Jiao was travel-worn and weary. Feeling extremely unsanitary, she eventually decided to instruct the newly bought servants to boil water and prepare a nice bath after she finished her meal.
The maids considerately filled the tub with hot water and even spread a few fresh rose petals.

She removed her clothes and cautiously stepped into the tub.
Hot water spilled out of the tub as the girl’s fair body plunged into it and a comfortable moan leaked out of her mouth.
Cupping the warm water in her hands and pouring it onto her shoulders, Chu Jiao languidly soaked in the relaxing bath when suddenly a pair of strong hands reached out from behind her and enclosed around her upper body.

Chu Jiao yelped in surprise but upon seeing the arm, she immediately recognized who was the person behind her.
“How old do you think you are already!” She playfully smacked the man’s arms, “And you’re still teasing me!”
Shen Zhen’s head laid down on the crook of Chu Jiao’s shoulder as he feverishly blew on her ear, “You didn’t wait for this Lord.” His tone sounded extremely bitter.
Chu Jiao could only assume that he was referring to the matter of eating supper together, “I still need to deal with your younger sister-in-law. If I didn’t have dinner early, she would’ve starved.”
“Why do you even bother with her?” From the start, Shen Zhen did not hold any good feelings towards Lin Wenyue who appeared out of nowhere and disrupted their two-person world. It was already enough for his little girl to worry about him only, “This Lord…was referring…to taking a bath….”
As he spoke, his hand mischievously continued to slide down towards the proud peaks submerged underwater, “Why did you not wait for this Lord to get in together?”
Chu Jiao was once again rendered dumbfounded by her newfound knowledge of Shen Zhen’s shamelessness.
Purposely lowering her shoulders to immerse her entire body underwater, the soaped skin smoothly threw off the confinement of the man’s arms akin to a fish slipping out of a fisherman’s hands.
“Wait for you?” The space of the tub was enough for Chu Jiao to easily turn her whole body around. She leaned on the side of the tub farthest from Shen Zhen and folded her arms over her chest, “If I waited for you, I wouldn’t have needed to take a bath….”
Would a certain beast be able to earnestly bathe?
Chu Jiao shook her toe from side to side, a signal for him to not even think about it.
“Oh?” It was unknown when Shen Zhen had undone his sash. But with his dark blue attire pulled apart, the sight revealed a lean yet powerful chest.
“Looks like Jiao’er doesn’t hold much trust in her husband huh…” Casually hanging his clothes at the side rack, Shen Zhen completely ignored Chu Jiao’s refusal and dipped a leg into the tub.
With the addition of another person, more water splashed out of the decently sized tub and very quickly, and the space inside was filled to the brim with two bodies.
Shen Zhen retrieved the fragrant soap from the glass bowl located at the side and wet it before carefully rubbing it on Chu Jiao’s exposed arm above the water, “Then, let this husband prove himself to you today…..”
“How much better do you think it can be….for both of us…to take a bath together?”
