Chapter 39

The clothes that the man had taken off the day before were probably not appropriate for the day’s activities. Fortunately, Andra found the least revealing clothes in what appeared to be a wardrobe and changed into them. It was a chiffon dress. It was so easy to wear that she only needed to wrap it once with a string.

After changing clothes and returning to the room, an unfamiliar figure was sitting at the bedside where the man was sleeping. The woman’s face was unusually invisible because she was wearing the skull of a large beast with horns.

“Hello. Looking at your face, I think you’re doing well.”

As soon as the woman found Andra, she smiled and started talking to her. At the appearance of a stranger, Andra looked at the woman with eyes full of vigilance. Then the woman giggled and spoke as she tussled the sleeping man’s hair.

“Don’t worry. I made him sleep soundly. We shouldn’t let mere humans stand in our way, my sister.”

At that moment, words came out of Andra’s mouth against her will. It was a heavy, hoarse voice. The owner of the body seemed to know the woman sitting before her.

“Nera, what’s going on here?”

“Sister, aren’t you being too cold after I came to see you after a long time? I missed you so much.”

In response to the cold reply, Nera responded with a sullen voice. You fell in love with a human man and tried to throw away your sister. She looked down at the sleeping man for a moment. Should I kill him? Andra’s body stiffened at the woman’s mindless murmurs. Noticing this, Nera hurriedly added words in a lively tone.

“Ahaha, it’s a joke. Would I ever kill my sister’s beloved human? Then our Anat will be sad.”

‘Anat?’

Andra was puzzled by the name referring to this body of hers. It was a name quite familiar to her ears. It’s like she heard it somewhere. Where the hell did she hear that? Andra wracked her head and tried to find the owner of the name, Anat. In the meantime, her mouth continued to speak words, regardless of her will.

“Tell me what happened, Nera. No god can trespass recklessly. If Mother finds out about this, she will be angry.”

“You’re in a hurry.”

Nera got up from her seat and approached Andra little by little. Every time she moved, the gold pieces on her body scattered. Nera glared at Andra through the orifices of the skull. Then, she opened her mouth in a soft, kind voice, as if to appease a little child.

“My sister. Our Anat.”

Nera reached out and stroked Andra’s white hair. Andra was very offended by it, but didn’t shake her hand. No, she couldn’t. A certain strong energy flowed from Nera.

Suddenly Nera pulled Andra’s hair tight. Ack! Andra’s head twisted and turned towards Nera. The soft atmosphere before had since disappeared, and a chilly atmosphere filled the space.

Nera grabbed Andra’s hair and lifted her head up. Due to the vicious power, Andra could not resist even once, and her head was raised. She could see the same golden eyes as Andra’s twinkling in the orifices.

“Mother is worried about you.”

Then Nera spoke quietly. Andra said nothing. It was as if her body was telling her never to react. She held her breath and only looked at Nera.

“Do you understand what I’m saying?”

“…….”

“You don’t know? Or are you pretending not to know?”

Nera grabbed Andra and led her towards the window. With a single gesture of hers, the window suddenly opened and a cold wind blew into the room. Nera pointed to the city outside the window. Beautiful and magnificent city. Hazel. Nera looked at it with a smile.

It’s full of interesting signs, but that’s all. Rather, she acted like a fussy rascal, wanting to ruin her toys.

“Look! Isn’t that great! Humans, who were nothing, have developed so far!”

As she spoke with a big laugh, Nera let Andra’s head that she was holding loose as if tossing it around casually. In the reaction, Andra ferociously fell to the floor. Her legs and hands that swept to the floor were sore. Oddly enough, she couldn’t resist. The power emanating from Nera suppressed Andra’s limbs.

Nera said as she continued to stride towards the window sill.

“But what would it be like if a place like this disappeared?”

So as not to leave any traces. Nera said in a calm voice. Hazel would disappear?

“You can’t do that…!”

Andra exclaimed. In response, Nera nodded as if she knew she would.

“I knew it. I know how much you love this place and how much you love humans.”

Nera sat on the window sill and looked down at Andra. Her slender legs were twisted. Andra looked up at Nera with an urgent heart. Nera had cold eyes. She leaned her body slightly towards Andra.

“I’ll tell you again. Mother is worried about you.”

“…….”

Andra said nothing. This time, it was because her body was silent. She just bowed her head. Then Nera said in a pitiful voice, as if beating Andra.

“If this goes on, you know that you will be swept away too. What are you hesitating about?”

As expected, is it because of that human man? Nera swung down from the window sill and she came back to Andra. And she forced Andra to raise her head. The long, sharp nails gripped Andra’s chin. The nails dug into her skin. Then, instead of red blood, blue blood dripped out.

Andra was surprised for one that she had blue blood flowing from her, and second that she didn’t feel any pain. The identity of this body, which she had only guessed, was becoming more and more certain.

Nera gently stroked Andra’s white hair with her other hand.

“Sister. Humans are just humans. No matter how much you mimic a human, you cannot become one. Because you are Mother’s child.”

Take a look at this, look at your blood. It’s proof that your mother’s lineage is certain! Nera was furious. Andra struggled to understand her attitude. Suddenly, she began to huff and puff.

“Stop it now! Did you really want to live like this? You’ve played enough with humans! Are you planning to waste at least a century? What a fool!”

The hand gripping her chin tightened. Nera looked angrier than ever. More blue blood trickled to the floor. By that time, she was worried that her chin had become tattered. As she was thinking about it, her mouth opened on its own. Andra was already speaking very firmly.

“Yes, I have been punished. This is Mother’s will. This is how I live.”

“You are very good at telling lies. How did Anat become like this? Do you think Mother punished you to stay here forever?! You fool!”

Andra was speechless again. As if her mouth was shut, she didn’t say anything. Nera clicked her tongue towards Andra.

“There is no secret to all of this. Especially no one can fool Mother’s eyes! If I had known you would be so foolish, I wouldn’t have chosen you!”

Tears welled up in Andra’s eyes. Seeing those tears, Nera calmed her anger as if she was really sad. Don’t cry, don’t cry. Take those tears away. She released her hand from her chin and grabbed Andra’s shoulder and lifted her up.

“My sister, our Anat. Why do you keep getting blinded by your foolishness and lead yourself to ruin? If you are so wise, why are you still crawling on the floor, obsessed with one human man?”

“…….”

“You mustn’t stir Mother’s ire. Mother loves you very much, but she is at the same time the judge. I love you very much too, but at the same time, I am also a judge. There’s nothing I can do about it if you’re so foolish.”

Nera placed her hand on Andra’s chin and healed the wounds in an instant. The blue blood stopped flowing.

“I have already done my best. How many times have I cheated Mother’s eyes and helped you! But you’re stupidly caring for a human man by your side for decades!”

The gentle Nera threw Andra to the floor again. And then she poured out words.

“And! To help the humans to get them this far! Those insignificant and weak things have become arrogant! You don’t follow Mother, but you adore and admire those humans! Do you think this is reasonable?”

“They also needed a chance. The scale was tilted from the beginning…!”

“It has nothing to do with you! You’re my sister. You are Mother’s daughter, a child of the creator of this world. You just have to do what Mother does, look the same as Mother. It’s not something you’re going to argue about!”

Nera couldn’t stand it and grabbed Andra by the neck. Andra was very easily caught by Nera and was lifted into the air. Nera’s hand begins to strangle Andra. Then the pain, the suffocating, this time, came upon her. Andra struggled with her feet in agony

“Mother is worried about you.”

“I…”

“Mother will be worried about you, and if you reject her, she will be angry again.”

Nera gently stroked Andra’s face with the other free hand that strangled Andra. But contrary to her actions, she uttered eerie words.

“Who do you think the angry mother will punish first?”

“N, no…”

“It’s the human man you caught! A fool who doesn’t even know what’s going on around him!”

Tears streamed down from Andra’s eyes. As she shed tears, Nera released the hand that had strangled her and let go of Andra carefully. Then she wiped the tears with her fingers. I told you not to cry, sister.

Nera quietly raised her upper body. The cold golden eyes flashed red in an instant. Andra knew what those eyes meant. To be precise, the body in which she was staying, knew. Her body jumped up. Andra hurriedly reached out her hand to shut Nera’s mouth shut.

“Don’t do it, Nera!”

“Receive the prophecy, Anat.”

But Nera’s words were faster. Nera stared at Andra, who was trying her best to stop her.

“No, stop!”

[ A fool dreams of more, its wings shall melt under the sun and plummet to the ground. It shall be buried in the mud that leads to ruin. ]

After those words, a pure white light engulfed Andra once more.
