—Cole POV—
By the time I was down on the street level, the police had shown up in force. They had assumed some villains were trying to steal tech from Detnerat so they were surprised when they saw me walk out with Rikiya on my shoulder. Telling his men to stand down, Togo and All Might approached me to figure things out.
“Kessler, what’s going on here?”, All Might asked, “Why are you holding the CEO of Detnerat over your shoulder?”
“Mr. Yotsubashi here has been making money on the side through arms dealing via the black market.”, I told everyone present, “Here’s the information I found in his office after he attempted to kill me. He has kept detailed records of who his sellers were, and the people that bought things from them. Hopefully, this will help put more criminals behind bars.”
Handing Commissioner Togo the box of files, everything was inside but the information regarding Jaku General Hospital. I would have to make the run solo to ensure the Doctor didn’t wake up his creations early. It wasn’t that I couldn’t handle them, I was concerned for the innocent bystanders in the hospital that would die from the fighting.
“Son of bitch!”, Togo shouted in anger, “These documents clear up a lot of confusion on several ongoing cases we had stalled out on. Not only that, but this also puts names to faces we have been scouting out now for months. Good job Kessler, this will help put a lot of people behind bars for good.”
“Add this guy onto the list, he tried using a Quirk Jamming device on me. I zapped it with electricity causing the damn machine to explode, he may need medical attention.”, I stated explaining away his injuries.
“Quirk Jammer…”, Togo repeated with a scowl, “Detnerat was one of several companies working on upgrading several prison’s Anti-Quirk measures. I will have the work stop till we confirm they didn’t add some sort of backdoor to free their allies when they wanted to. This also means we may have Quirk Jammers on the streets now…great. I will pass this information along to the Hero Association.”
Handing Rikiya over to Togo, he ordered his men to tear the building apart looking for anything else they could find. Watching nearly three dozen cops run inside, I wondered what else Rikiya was hiding in his company. Once the officers were gone, I told them the last bit of information given the sensitive nature of it.
“Rikiya is also the Grand Commander of the Meta Liberation Army. Two of their people tried to assist him upstairs when I caught him.”, I stated, “Where ever you put him make sure you have heavy security around him. The rest of his people are definitely going to attempt to break him out.”
“Seriously!?”, Togo growled glaring at the unconscious man, “This changes things, we will take him straight to Tartaros for interrogation. All Might, can I ask you to help transport him just to be safe?”
“Of course!”, All Might laughed with a smile, “Good work Kessler, the Meta Liberation Army is among the top villain groups here in Japan. They have taken countless lives for the sake of furthering their agenda, catching their leader will go a long way to furthering public safety.”
Leaving things to them, I left the scene as I had other things to attend to. Heading straight over to Jaku General Hospital, I asked to speak with the Chairman about some crimes in the recent area. Giving me a confused look, the nurse in the Admittance Area asked what was going on. Telling her that I couldn’t reveal the details to her, as the investigation was ongoing, I showed her my license to confirm who I was.
“Dr. Tsubasa is unfortunately out of the office today, he is attending to a family matter.”, she informed me, “I can leave him a note that you stopped by.”
“That would be great, please tell him it’s urgent.”, I insisted.
Leaving my contact information with her, I left the hospital. Once I was a block away, I jumped into a power line and returned to the hospital to confirm if the Doctor was really out. Not finding him anywhere in the building, I went down to the morgue as I remembered this was where the entrance to the hidden laboratory was. Confirming there were no cameras or security measures that would go off with my sudden appearance in the room, I shot out of a light socket to look around for the entrance.
‘Well damn…does it have an RFID tag or something to open it up?’, I thought searching the room for any method for opening the lab door, ‘Blowing a hole in the wall is going to alert everyone to my presence here. I didn’t want to use magic for the time being, but I don’t have an option here.’
Keeping my magic output as low as possible, I made my body intangible and walked through the wall I believed led to the lab. Walking into a dark corridor, I immediately turned myself into smoke to avoid being detected by any security measures. Moving down the corridor, I looked into each of the cells lining the hallway. Seeing Nomu in various states of development, the last two cells had two completed Nomu sleeping on cots.
‘Your suffering ends today, I am sorry all of you were mutilated by that idiot. All of you have gone through enough pain and suffering.’, I thought silently snuffing the Nomu out with my several smoke bullets.
Making sure to kill them instantly with the first shot, the rest were just to dispose of the bodies. Doing the same with the other Nomu, I didn’t want to leave a single one of them alive to cause anyone harm. With the Nomu eliminated I continued out of the corridor into the main laboratory. Seeing many high-end pieces of medical equipment, it did surprise me that the doctor was able to patch up All For One with little effort.
“Jeez…All For One seriously has some deep pockets.”, I muttered softly in case someone was in the lab with me, “This stuff isn’t cheap, and some of it is special order…”
Looking around the room for any of his notes or research, I stumbled across a rather strange-looking computer. Seeing several vials of unknown liquids attached to the top, I connected to the computer with my powers to see what I could find. Discovering that the vials contained stolen Quirk Factors, this machine was trying to combine them together using various chemical mixtures and genetic DNA sequences.
‘So this is how he made Kurogiri’s Quirk, this is just disgusting.’, I thought reaching out for the Quirk Factors.
It was faint, but I could sense memories within the Quirks. Some of the memories were of their last moments spent surrounded by family, while others were terrified as they died very brutal deaths. Taking the Quirks, I gained the ability to increase gravity, increased strength and endurance, poison generation, and the ability to generate high-pressure water from my body similar to my other abilities.
“Did it belong to one of Kota’s parents?”, I said realizing it might have belonged to them, “I am glad I took it before All For One could weaponize it.”
Realizing how dangerous the machine was, I destroyed it with electricity making sure to blow every capacitor, fuse, and circuit so it couldn’t ever be used again. Once I was sure it was totaled, I continued looking around for anything I could take back with me to provoke a confrontation. Finding detailed notes on the process to create the Nomu’s, and intel on Gigantomachia’s Quirk structure.
These files would be more than enough to get their attention and provoke a response. After frying all of the expensive medical equipment in the lab, I was going to head home but I got a call from Mirko. Asking me to come to pick her up, she gave me her coordinates so I knew where to find her.
—Several Hours Later, 3rd Person POV—
Returning from a party for his grandson, Kyudai Garaki came in to retrieve some files he needed to review for tomorrow. There were several planned surgeries that needed to be reviewed before they could proceed, and he was the one who had to approve them. As he walked into the Admittance Area, one of his nurses waved over to him saying they had a message for him. Thinking it was a note from one of his many patients, Kyudai went to retrieve it.
“Who is it from this time, is it Hannah asking me to dinner again?”, he laughed with a playful smile.
“Unfortunately not”, the nurse giggled, “Pro Hero Kessler showed up today asking for you. He said that he had some questions about a case that he is working on, he left his contact information so you could reach out to him.”
“I see, I will call him in the morning then.”, Kyudai replied receiving the information, ‘I wonder what sort of case he is working on that he needs my help for?’
Heading up to his private office, Kyudai sat down to review the documents when his private phone started ringing. Recognizing the number immediately, he made sure the door to his office was closed before answering it.
“All For One, I assume this must be urgent for you to risk calling me on my private cell.”, Kyudai said.
“I tried calling you in the lab, but the call didn’t go through. Are you trying to avoid me again?”, All For One inquired.
“Of course not, you have made it clear what the consequences of that are. I have been out all day for a family matter, remember?”, Kyudai responded.
Admitting he had forgotten about that, All For One informed him that he should stop taking bodies for the time being. Asking for a reason why he should stop now, his master explained to him what had occurred earlier that day. Hearing that several men that procured bodies for them had been arrested with bodies in hand, a shiver went down Kyudai’s spine.
“Sir, Pro Hero Kessler came to the hospital looking for me specifically…you don’t think he knows do you?”, Kyudai suggested.
“Hmm…go to the lab, and confirm the situation.”, All For One told him, “Call me when you get there.”
Doing as he was instructed, the doctor snuck down to the morgue and went into his secret lab. Taking a look at the first few cells, his stomach dropped to his feet. Immediately calling his Master, Kyudai told him that the Nomu were all dead and the lab was destroyed. Looking around to see what else was missing, he almost had a heart attack when he realized his notes on the Nomu and Gigantomachia were missing.
“So he found the lab then…this changes things. I will send Kurogiri to get you, we don’t know if he is watching the hospital right now. If he is, he will follow you straight to the hideout. For now, you will have to go into hiding till we can take care of him.”, All For One said, “Use the lab here to complete the Nomu currently in stasis at our offsite facility. We will deal with him once they are operational.”
“As you wish Master.”, Kyudai agreed quickly grabbing what he could.
—Cole POV—
I had tried to leave her once we got to her home, but that didn’t work out. She ended up keeping me there for dinner, and we eventually ended up watching some terrible kung-fu movies she had. Laughing at the terrible translations, Mirko seemed to be enjoying herself while I just sat back and watched. Feeling my phone vibrate, I took a look and saw that a few officers had received marching orders from All For One. He had asked them if I had turned in any information today, and they told him about the files I turned over that Rikiya had.
‘Now I just wait for them to show themselves, and crush them in one go.’, I thought with a smile.
“Hey!! Get off your phone, and watch the movie!”, Mirko said hitting me on the shoulder.
“Alright Easter Bunny, I apologize.”, I chuckled.
Glaring at me, she said I shouldn’t be an ass because she cooked me dinner. Seeing that as a valid point, I agreed to it.
“By your will…Chosen One.”, I laughed.
“That’s it you punk!”, she shouted as jumped on me, “We are having another sparring match right now, and I am kicking that grin off your face!”
