Chapter 3: Troublesome, Lazybones (2) Original translation is from tenderflower's blog.

Lan-shi who wrapped a blue headscarf on her head looked at Shu Wan who had grown to be a little girl and said sincerely: “Sister-in-law, I really envy you. Ah Wan is well-behaved and sensible. Anyone who sees her will praise a few words. If only I have such a daughter.”

Qin-shi’s heart was filled with joy when her daughter was praised, but when she saw her little daughter who was eating with her eyes closed, her smile turned into helplessness. She picked food for Xiao Lang and said, “What good is a daughter? If you have a child like Ah Lan, you’ll have to wait and worry. You tell me, why are these two children born the same day and have so different temperaments?”

“Xiao Lang of your family can walk in 6 months. He speaks clearly when he is 1 year old, and helps with animal skins when he is 2 years old... Now he’s helping to plant too. Look at Ah Lan of our family. She only walks when she is almost 2 years old and starts talking when she is 3 years old. Alas, it can’t be compared at all!”

The degraded person didn’t have any reaction. Her older brother couldn’t take it and put down his bowl and chopsticks. “Mother, although my younger sister is lazy, she doesn’t worry you. You should be anxious if she sneaked into the mountains when she was 4 years old!” As he said, he quietly gave Xiao Lang a glance.

“Exactly,” Lan-shi couldn’t help but interface, “Ah Lan is very well-behaved, unlike our family, if you blink he will disappear. I don’t know where he runs to every day and he has this closed gourd temperament. He doesn’t like to talk when he sees a living person. Even with us, he doesn’t open his mouth except when he has to!”

The women praised each other’s children. Xiao Shouwang and Shu Maoting had long been used to them. They just smiled and ate.

“Mother, I’m full.” Xiao Lang put down the bowl, got up, and walked into the field.

Qin-shi grabbed him, “My dear nephew, you have been busy all morning. Leave the rest to your sister Wan. After eating, you can take your younger sister home first. You can go to your house or our house. In short, don’t let your younger sister sleep on the ground.”

Xiao Lang lowered his head, glanced at Shu Lan who was dozing off after eating, and nodded reluctantly.

Qin-shi couldn’t help kissing Xiao Lang’s dark little cheek.

With a crisp “squishing” sound, Shu Lan finally raised her eyes, wobbled, and pounced into Qin-shi’s arms: “Mother, kiss kiss!”

Qin-shi’s heart was about to melt into water, holding her soft body in her arms and listening to the sweet voice of the child. She quickly kissed the jealous daughter’s face twice and tapped her small nose: “Go back and listen to what your older brother said, do you know?”

Shu Lan arched in her mother’s arms. If it weren’t for someone to pull her away suddenly, she would have fallen asleep in the familiar warm embrace.

Xiao Lang took Shu Lan’s hand and said in a dull voice, “Mother, aunt, we are leaving.”

“Go. You can’t run around!” Lan-shi was worried and warned repeatedly.

The corner of Xiao Lang’s mouth twitched. Wherever he ran around, he was just going to the mountains to exercise. The human body was much worse than his original physique. Without fangs and sharp claws, he must strengthen other aspects to master the attack power.

He was thinking about it and suddenly there was a familiar voice that couldn’t be more familiar voice. He lowered his head and saw Shu Lan was twisting his arm vigorously, trying to get rid of his shackle, “It hurts. You let go! You walk too fast. I don’t want you to pull!”

What a squeamish child!

Xiao Lang let go of his hand disdainfully. Unexpectedly Shu Lan didn’t pay attention and fell straight back.

Shu Lan’s little bum fell in extreme pain. She didn’t even look at Xiao Lang, wiped her face, and started crying: “Ao ao, mother, older brother Wolf bullied me!”

(T/N: loud clamor / the sound of wailing.)

Looking at the little girl sitting on the ground with tears pattering down, her mouth opened wide enough to see her throat, Xiao Lang clenched his teeth and cursed: Troublesome thing!

(T/N: Ah Lan called him “Wolf” which is the “Lang” meaning of a wolf. His name “Lang” sounds the same but the meaning is different and they are not the same character either.)
