Deciding that we would get tired if we stayed outside, we shook off the merchants who were clinging to us and took refuge in the Berli branch of the Zinc Trading Company.

We decided to roll into the reception room for large customers and rest our bodies and minds.

'Thank God! They had a hell of a lot of heat.

They were merchants, like old ladies, going for the best deals at bargain sales.

It was hard to keep Esther from accidentally putting a spear in their thighs.

If there was any real harm done, though, it was ...... a populist-leaning commercial city, and I'm not going to cause a violent incident from the start.

The only people who got involved were Ian and I. There was no one trying to catch and sell off Marina, the fairy tribe, and no one else.

''Berli is a cobbled-together city, so there are many people who run amok in search of gain. The merchant who was involved with your master just now is a perfect example.

You were tangled up in it too. It seemed like you knew each other, but shouldn't you have taken care of him properly?

If they were from the Grand Chamber of Commerce, the damage could fly to his family's home, the Lorenz Chamber of Commerce, because of the recrimination against Ian.

''They're the type of people I don't want to waste time talking to, they're seniors, so it's fine.

I see. Good night.

On the merits, Ian won't be working with those merchants.

But ...... if he wants a life without his boss, what am I going to do?

It's a history, so I can hold him down by force.

But I've become good friends with Ian, so if he really wants to be independent, I want to give him a challenge.

If he gets out of it, I'll have to concentrate on the work of the zinc company, which Elsa can't handle, and I'll have to deal with the paperwork ...... all year long.

"Not at all ....... Those people don't understand, either.

Esther?

''It's those people who want to be parasites on the successful Ian-san. The Zink Trading Company has grown to take advantage of your brother's granting magic, but what are they thinking?

Well, I've been using my own magic bag for transportation and staffing the personnel I've trained in buff leveling .......

''It's obvious that if Ian-san leaves your brother, it will be harder to get results for the greatly reduced means available to him. So why would he state such nonsense?

It's no wonder they're third-rate merchants who are too busy chasing short-term profits.

And in Ian's case, he has the ability to succeed on his own, so it's not a bad bargaining point.

'Esther's right. I can see that if I start my own business, I won't have enough means, money, and personnel to stand on my own.

What, you can handle it, can't you?

'If I was capable of doing something about it, I would not have become the master's slave. I would have made my parents' house earn money before I fell into slavery.

Come to think of it, the former Lorenz Chamber of Commerce was a medium-sized chamber of commerce, at a level that didn't allow Ian to line up the money to buy back.

But the head of that chamber of commerce was his father.

It's hard to reform on a large scale in his position as a son, and he didn't have a choice.

'I'm not going to throw away a position that I enjoy working in so much without being bound by a subordination contract. Nor would I want to partner with a merchant of their caliber .......

'That's right. Even I, as a child, can see that Mr. Ian has no advantage.

I don't know what it is to me, but it seems that independence seems to be a bad idea to Ian and Esther.

'I've been recruited by rich people to be a cook, too, but I've never found it attractive. And it's more fun to be around the master.

Nina seems to agree with you both.

There's no social security in this world, so maybe she finds the life she's living now, where she can have some freedom, more appealing than the independence she doesn't know if she'll succeed.

'Master. Berli is a worshipful city, but it has its good points, too.

Ian, who was resting on the couch, turned to me and gave me a grin and a disgusting smile.

This look is from someone you don't ...... like, when you're about to rake in the profits from someone you don't like.

The wholesale business is thriving in this city because people are more likely to jump at the chance to make a profit. You can set the wholesale price per piece low and the merchants will flock to you without advertising.

I see.

So this store has five reception rooms for large transactions.

For Zinc's company, which can ignore inventory space, it's easier for them to make money on large transactions than it is for retailers who spend their time in customer service.

Thanks to the master's backing, we can beat out those who demand unreasonable discounts and ...... among our many stores, the Berli branch has particularly high sales.

And the men who run this city are big merchants who can make rational decisions. ......, Ian continues.

They seem to be making good money by using the type of third-rate merchants that swarmed in earlier, along with the competent upper management.

'Anyway, let's all get some rest today. We're all worn out from all that sherbet making and marathoning.

Excuse me, sir. I have deliveries to make in this city and some accounting to do: ......

This guy ...... looked so sleepy, and he's still working!

'Dismissed, Ian. If we don't get the job done, we'll stay the night. We're all on mandatory leave today!

As the head of the Zinke Chamber of Commerce, I don't approve of any more workaholics!
