Seeing the miniature sun drop from above, Kyran immediately retracted the dark purple vortex. No matter how much he wanted to absorb Light's attack, Kyran couldn't absorb such a massive magic-concentrated attack.

In the past, when Kyran absorbed the concentrated attack from the Four-colored Ruin Array, he nearly fainted in exhaustion. The second time he was forced to absorb two mutated Basilisks, it nearly destroyed his magic cores. Kyran wanted to prevent that from happening again. It was not easy to use his magic freely with damaged magic cores. Even a small amount of circulation left him reeling in pain.

After retracting the dark purple vortex, Kyran jumped. Several dark-purple orbs shot out of his body, and he willed them to circle the miniature sun. He might be afraid to absorb the miniature sun in one go, but that did not mean he would stop trying.

If he could not absorb it in one go, he would do it in several segments!

When the dark-purple orbs circled the miniature sun, a suction force erupted from them, absorbing it on different sides.

Light frowned after seeing the scene below. But before Light could do anything, it sensed danger from behind and belatedly realized that Kyran had disappeared below.

The light, Light emitted increased in its brilliance, making it hard for others to look at Light. The latter was like a sun shining above the sky; when others looked at it, they would suffer an intense glare.

It became harder to look at Light after emitting such brilliance. Ultimately, Kyran gave up looking with his eyes. Closing his eyes, Kyran appeared and disappeared from behind Light. Initially, he planned on striking Light from behind, then constantly warping to attack the latter's body in different spots. However, he realized that not only did Light's body glow increase in brilliance, but its body had turned incorporeal. With such a body, it would be impossible for Kyran to touch Light.

Light swept its staff horizontally, creating a beautiful, almost complete arc. Light runes streamed out from the golden staff and flew toward Kyran.

Kyran's eyes constricted at the speed and strength with which the Light runes hurtled toward him. He barely evaded three Light runes by spinning his body once before bending backwards at an almost impossible angle to avoid the third one.

However, even after evading the runes, cuts appeared on Kyran's clothes, where they almost touched. It made him realize that these runes were similar to the earlier ones he absorbed, except the latter would result in an explosion, while the former resulted in a deep cut.

Light observed Kyran from above. Since the latter tended to use the suction-like attack to deal with regular Light magic attacks, Light decided to observe what Kyran would do with other forms of Light attack.

Kyran's agile body could deftly evade the Light rune blades— proving that regular Light magic attacks were ineffective. But since they still left traces of cuts on Kyran's clothes, as long as Light added more speed to the blades and had them produce an unpredictable trajectory, it might not be impossible to land an effective attack on Kyran.

Before Kyran could regain his balance from the Light runes' blade-like attack, more streamed out from Light's staff.

The runes looked the same. They curved at a strange angle, with one end longer and pointed than the other. They glided in the air but did not attack Kyran at once. First, their short ends merged, forming several beautiful golden wheels with curved blades sticking outward before hurtling after Kyran.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Crackle!

As the Light runes turned into rotating Light wheel blades, they glided in the air; slicing sounds reverberated, seemingly capable of ripping the space they had traversed.

Kyran's heart throbbed anxiously upon hearing and seeing what the rotating Light wheel blades could do.

Jagged cracks appeared in the surrounding space from where the wheel blades passed through. It was Kyran's first time seeing Light magic showing such a powerful ripping effect that could tear through space.

If Kyran was not careful, no matter how agile he was and confident at evading them, he might ultimately fail to judge the distance and be sliced up by them properly. The wheel blades' trajectory was also unpredictable, making it harder for him to judge where they would come from completely.

Kyran's magic sense erupted as he observed his surroundings using them. With the rotating Light wheel blades emitting a blinding light, it was impossible to continue looking at them using his eyes. The only way for him to grasp their distance without letting his eyes suffer was through his magic sense.

Light sensed Kyran's magic sense expanding. His action proved that using Light magic in this way was somewhat effective since he had to use his magic sense to find them.

'To think he already thought of using his magic sense after only seeing the Light wheel blades for a few minutes. His judgement is commendable. Along with having hard-to-counter magic, his fast thinking and powerful physique are troublesome,' Light thought and brandished its staff to summon more Light runes that turned into Ligh wheel blades.

The newly summoned wheel blades joined the first few, instantly filling the surroundings with blinding rotating lights that came after Kyran.

Kyran's brow furrowed after sensing more wheel blades. Above, the dark purple vortex was still absorbing the miniature sun while he moved around below, evading the wheel blades.

Frankly, Kyran thought of summoning more dark purple vortex and absorbed all the wheel blades. However, he soon realized that he could not produce them. It seemed there was a limit to how many he could summon the dark purple vortexes. It was not a limit to how often he used it, but its size.

If the dark purple vortexes absorbing the miniature sun merged, its size was only a few feet short of the size of the two dark purple vortexes he once summoned to absorb the two mutated basilisks combined.

That had been the only time Kyran summoned two vortexes that could absorb such large beasts. Since there had been repercussions afterwards, he believed their combined size was likely the limit he could summon.

For this reason, Kyran decided to evade the wheel blades until the dark purple vortexes finished absorbing the miniature sun. He did not even dare summon his Void spheres to destroy any of them because he wanted to absorb as many wheel blades as possible and gain more experience and insight into Light magic from them.

Absorbing such a powerful Light magic attack would benefit Kyran in the future.

Fortunately, Light could not read Kyran's mind or else, finding out that the latter had used Light as a subject to absorb more Light magic-related attacks would probably result in the former erupting from anger.

A distance from Kyran and Light, Osric and Tritus was also entangled in a fight.

Following how Kyran had warped him, Osric was shocked. He once witnessed the previous Dark Sage warp his hundreds of thousands of army members in a blink of an eye, but it never occurred to him that the latter could also warp his enemies.

Kyran's way of using Void magic differed from the previous Dark Sage as well, proving they were two completely different people.

Caelan's experience and upbringing influenced how he utilized his magic— Kyran was the same. Though both were born from a prestigious family, the Ashton Family Caelan originally belonged to did not accept him, while Kyran was not only accepted but protected by the Regis Clan.

Caelan made full use of his magic with large-area attacks and devastating his enemies in a show of dominance. On the other hand, Kyran could use a large area attack to deal with Osric and Light in one fell swoop, but instead, he decided to deal with them one at a time. He even made one of his allies buy time while he dealt with Light first.

Alas, Osric failed to fully understand that Kyran only wanted Tritus to gain insight and advance. Besides this, Kyran also wanted to buy some time for his father, Cade, who was still undergoing Azaloth's inheritance. There was also the ongoing evacuation of the Regis members from the estate and the few selected mercenaries and Array Specialists that Styx and Dante led, destroying the army warehouses in the whole empire.

As for rescuing Neo, Kyran was still in the process of formulating a plan. He was constantly coming up with a plan while he was fighting Light.

Kyran's innate ability had always been about grasping concepts and theories of things easily and applying or executing them with minimal error. However, there were moments he could also multitask. It was a wonder whether it was his second innate ability or something that developed over the years.

With two pairs of mages with high mage levels fighting at such a conspicuous location, it was impossible for others not to notice.

At that moment, Myst and Raya discovered several mages and combat mages approaching.
