Chapter 6: It would be better if the cafeteria was closer to the pool

“Where are they all going?”

Although Ruan Tao’s Galaxy Media was only a new entertainment company, the Cheng Group behind it was able to compare to Shengshi Entertainment. Even if many players wanted to shoot their self-introductions in Studio No. 5 where Jiang Fengchi had recorded ‘Waiting for the Wind’, there had been no doubt Ruan Tao and her teammate would have been qualified.
With first-class facilities, the Galaxy trainees chose to record songs to complete their self-introduction process, and despite the short amount of time, they delivered a perfect performance that earned them the praise of their PD.

After finishing shooting, as soon as she walked out of the recording studio, Ruan Tao found out that many contestants were talking and walking in excitement.
Ruan Tao was a little puzzled and casually asked her teammates but as everyone had just left the studio, they had no idea what was happening.

“Is your recording over? Would you like to go to the gym? A group of players went to the pool to shoot their intro.”
At this time, a girl who had already finished filming walked back from the direction the group had taken. Her mind was full of images of Qiao Dai, lying on the water and sleeping comfortably, and the corners of her lips couldn’t help rising. She could not wait for her own teammates to go take a look.
“The pool? Someone has a skill that needs the spool to shoot?”
Lai You snorted as soon as she heard the girl talk. The camera next to her was not filming anymore and she seemed bored. Her eyebrows were raised and she was looking at her nails, a little blasé.
“Isn’t it just a reason to wear a swimsuit and make some waves?”
As soon as Lai You’s words fell, the girl smiled awkwardly and swallowed what she wanted to say back, before saying in a stiff manner: “Not necessarily, she probably did not think of that.”
But the girl could not finish defending anyone as Lai You was already rolling her eyes impatiently and walked back to Ruan Tao’s side.
“We’re all here to compete, don’t say that it wouldn’t cross anyone’s mind. It’s so annoying.”

Lai You had always been famous in her agency for her very honest words that did not match her sweet appearance. Her fans liked her beautiful and wild character and even though she had been caught on many occasions rolling her eyes at her teammates, her fans had always forgiven her and, compared to the other trainees, she had become more and more unrestrained and brash.

Originally, the girl had wanted to tell her to not underestimate the other players so casually, but after hearing such a snide comment, she decided to remain silent. Neither she nor her company were as famous as Lai You and Galaxy Media; naturally, Lai You wouldn’t listen to her words. And after being disliked by her so openly for no reason, the girl did not really want to talk anymore. People like Lai You were unpleasant and had slowly tainted her good mood.
But she recalled what she had just seen at the pool a few minutes earlier.
On the surface of the water, a small girl had been lying on her back, her eyes closed and her eyelashes fluttering slightly, both making people wonder what Qiao Dai had been dreaming about and worry about whether she would fall and drown.
The girl was really asleep, would sometimes turn lightly as if she was rolling in a soft bed, droplets of water condensed on her delicate snow-white skin. The whole person looked particularly gentle and beautiful against the ripples of the pool.

Wait and see, Lai You will be speechless soon, the girl thought to herself and no longer mentioned Qiao Dai’s performance. She was really looking forward to the official start of the show in her heart.

“Alright, don’t talk about that girl like that. If she hears it, she would probably feel very bad.”
Ruan Tao interrupted the conversation in a timely manner. She did not like Lai You’s aggressive way of speaking very much, she thought it was a bit too mean and she frowned slightly after listening to her teammate.
“Taotao, you just think too well of people! How can someone who uses a swimsuit in the self-introduction mind what others say about her?”
Lai You took Ruan Tao’s hand and softened her voice a little to avoid sounding like she was scolding her. She looked quite helpless with the fact that Ruan Tao was just too kind and seemed unable to see people’s dark side.
“These kinds of people just want some heat. They don’t have any strength and just want to hype. Even if I don’t say anything now, when the show gets broadcasted, the public will definitely talk.”

Lai You always believed that only Galaxy’s trainees were representative of strength. The other players who had come to participate in the draft were not qualified to compare to them. She did not care if she had seen some skills, as long as she did not like it, she would say it was deliberate hype.

Ruan Tao listened quietly and gave a helpless smile. The truth was that, with what Lai You said, them deliberately choosing Jiang Fengchi’s studio… wasn’t it also rubbing heat? Galaxy’s trainees knew Jiang Fengchi would become a mentor of <Pick Eleven> and the fact that they had used his studio would definitely arouse gossip. They had even been prepared to answer such questions by their agent.
These thoughts swept through Ruan Tao’s mind. She opened her mouth but ultimately did not say anything.

Qiao Dai did not know how long she had slept, but when she opened her eyes, she realized she had drifted quite far from the edge. Luan Zhen and the others were looking at her and seemed to be hesitating whether to send someone to bring her back or not.
“Daidai, are you awake?”
As soon as she had opened her eyes, Luan Zhen shouted at her in surprise.
She had really slept well just now! Qiao Dai rolled in the water happily until she heard her teammates call her name and quickly swam back to them.
Her nimble body made its way through the water and she swam back lightly, neither rushing nor slowly. She poked her head out of the water, a few strands of wet hair were stuck to her wet face, making her already delicate face even more small and exquisite.
“Are we finished?”
Qiao Dai looked like a small animal peeking out of the water, looking around curiously. She opened her misty eyes wide and looked at the crowd, her already bright eyes coupled with the water stuck on her eyelashes gave people the illusion of a deer.
The PD felt he had just knocked into a ball of cotton candy. He nodded subconsciously and stuttered: “Film… Filming is over!”

Qiao Dai seemed to have magical powers. At first, the PD thought sleeping on the water was a joke but after staring at Qiao Dai’s posture on the water, he could not help but find it very impressive. Looking down at the time, the man was shocked. They had actually watched someone sleep for an entire hour! It was incredible!
When they had seen Qiao Dai asleep, their first thought had not been whether she was faking it or not but worrying she would fall. Watching her roll over, they were afraid she would choke on water. Not to mention that when she had silently drifted away, nobody had noticed because nobody could bear to make a sound that could wake her up.

The PD looked at the footage he had just recorded, at the Qiao Dai on the screen poking her head out of the water like a small animal, and took a deep breath. He was certain that when this video would be broadcasted, countless people would remember her. They might not remember many contestants of <Pick Eleven> so fast, but they would definitely notice the girl in the water!
The man’s eyes were shining and Qiao Dai looked at him faintly before soaking in the pool a bit more and reluctantly going back to the dry land.
“Be careful, don’t catch a cold!”
Shi Qing thoughtfully brought her a bath towel and put it on her body. Qiao Dai blinked at her gratefully, took her clothes and towel, and went to the bathroom to change clothes.

“How do you feel? The show officially begins tomorrow.”
After one day of recording, Qiao Dai and the other players’ trip at Shengshi Entertainment ended.

On the first floor, many contestants like Qiao Dai were taking group pictures in front of the Shengshi logo. For most of them, it had been an unattainable dream to use the country’s top entertainment company’s facilities for one day and only the best in the draft would ever get to come back.
Of course, the production time took the time to go question the trainees about their ambitions and feelings after recording. But after asking many players, they did not have much material suitable for broadcast, most answers were relatively the same.

The person in charge of the interviews saw Luan Zhen and her teammates. He went up and asked the usual questions:
“What are your feelings about today’s event?”
“Do you want to join Shengshi Entertainment?”
“How far do you think you can go in the draft?” and so on. The main objective was to draw out the ambitions and competitive spirits of the girls to create some effects for the show. Shengshi Entertainment was a natural topic as they were the organizer of <Pick Eleven> and no publicity was expendable.

Qiao Dai and the others cooperated greatly with the host’s questions. She was full of praise for the company, 80% because of the large pool, the other 20% because of the food.
The host was very happy with this group, especially Qiao Dai. Her bright eyes were like a child looking at the candy she liked and made him want to hand the microphone over to her, wanting to hear what kind of praise such a lovely girl had for their organizer.
Qiao Dai took the microphone with both hands, looked at the camera, and said earnestly: “I like it here. The swimming pool is very big and the food is delicious.” She then paused and thought for a few seconds before adding: “Of course, it would be better if a cafeteria could be opened next to the swimming pool.”
This way, she could sleep and lie on the water while eating, the same as when she was in the ocean. Wouldn’t it be perfect?

Looking at her excited and determined eyes, the host was stunned and couldn’t help blinking. Was this little sister serious? But then… she was rather adorable, wasn’t she?
