Illiterates don’t cry, stand up!

Gu Siyi was carrying a basket and choosing six or seven teaching materials for herself, and realized they weren’t not enough. While choosing the books, she ambitiously planned on her execution, and cooked up a grand scheme on how to carry out the great cause of studying. It seemed to her that buying books whose weight can break a person’s back was equivalent to studying.

Gu Siyi reached out to take the mathematics book on the top row of the shelf, but she was a bit too short to reach it. She stood on tiptoe and was trying to get it, Xia Zhijun’s tall figure stood behind her, stretched out his hand, and easily grabbed the book she wanted to take, “Is this the one?”

“Right, right!” Gu Siyi nodded repeatedly.

Xia Zhijun took the book, lowered his head, and looked Gu Siyi directly in the eyes.

The girl looked back at him with wide eyes, her long eyelashes fanned like butterfly wings, and her cheeks were bright red. He raised his hand, placed it on her head, and pressed her head, shutting the heart-wrenching look out of sight.

“Here,” he said, handing her the book.

“Thank you!” Gu Siyi asked him with a basket of books, “Have you chosen your books?”

“En.” Her eyes fell on the basket in her hand, “Are these what you want to buy?”

“Hmm!” Gu Siyi nodded.

Xia Zhijun took the basket, put it on the desk, picked up the books inside, and read them one by one in a few minutes. “These books are useless.”

“How come? These are all reference books that I have carefully selected!”

“If you want to buy simple material, just choose two or three books. Too many books take up too much space.”

Xia Zhijun’s tone was flat and his expression was calm. He thought he was just stating the facts.

Unexpectedly, Gu Siyi suddenly exploded in anger. “Do you look down on all living beings from a high vantage point just because you’re a study tyrant/god? What do you mean by asking me to buy a simple book? I will definitely rely on the books I’ve chosen to counterattack fate and transform myself from a study scum to an academic tyrant like yourself!”

Xia Zhijun raised his eyebrows slightly, “So you are a study scum/academic dreg?” He really didn’t know.

But from her blind selection of reference books, it was pretty obvious.

“I-” Yes, the two were not classmates before, so he didn’t know about her grades yet, so why did she blow up?

Shame. Gu Siyi regretted it in her heart, she could only face the reality and patch it herself. “I used to be, after all, my parents were very demanding of me, but I won’t be in the future!”

Xia Zhijun didn’t care if she was an academic dreg or not, he just thought her sudden anger and embarrassment was … a bit cute?

“Okay, come on.” He chuckled and rubbed her head.

“…” Gu Siyi was a little uncomfortable with the suddenly gentle Xia Zhijun. How do you describe this feeling, as if an owner was comforting the kitten he raised?

She quickly discarded the weird thoughts, raised her basket, and declared her sovereignty. “Anyways, I want to buy these books.”

“It’s up to you.” Xia Zhijun chose to no longer lecture her about it.

The two went to the cash register together, and Gu Siyi decided to go first. “SInce you bought the tea for me earlier, I’ll pay for your book.” Then she quickly took out her mobile phone, preparing to pay.

Xia Zhijun didn’t stop her, he just stood quietly aside.

When the girls on the left and right looked at him, his face exuded an extremely cold aura that prevented strangers from approaching him.

Gu Siyi left the cash register with two large bags of books. Xia Zhijun walked to her and said: “Give them to me.”

Gu Siyi obediently gave him a bag of books, which was a bit heavy, especially since she bought too many books.

“Give me the other bag as well,” Xia Zhijun said again.

“It’s okay, this one is only slightly heavy, I can carry it myself.” Gu Siyi was the bag-carrier, the man-servant at home. She usually carried things when shopping with her mother. Over time, she got used to it, and she often helped people carry things when shopping with her classmates. When encountering something heavier, she took the lead.

Xia Zhijun frowned slightly and took the bag of books directly from her hand and said, “Don’t treat yourself as a man.”

Uh…

Gu Siyi followed Xia Zhijun empty-handed. Seeing that his hands were full, she was embarrassed and asked him several times. “Can I share the weight with you? Can you give me a bag?”

Despite her repeated pleas, Xia Zhijun ignored her words till she finally stopped.

“Our time is almost up, let’s head back.”

“Yeah.” Gu Siyi nodded.

The two walked towards the elevator, and Gu Siyi suddenly saw Lu Jiaye, Su Han and Zhou Xiao, the three standing on the elevator, slowly descending.

My God … Gu Siyi pulled Xia Zhijun, “This way, this way!”

She grabbed his arms and pulled him behind the large sculpture that was hiding aside.

“Lu Jiaye and the others were over there, if we’re seen, it will be embarrassing.” Gu Siyi pulled Xia Zhijun into hiding and looked out cautiously like a thief trying to hide from the law.

Xia Zhijun didn’t mind, but Gu Siyi seemed to be more afraid of being exposed than the person concerned.

“Get down! You will be seen!” Gu Siyi pulled Xia Zhijun’s arm and pulled him down.

Xia Zhijun felt as if he had touched something soft on his arm?

His gaze fell on Gu Siyi and he realized that what he encountered was the chest of the girl tugging at him. His clear white cheeks were quickly stained with a thin layer of red.
