Gu Siyi had been so concentrated on the situation outside, that she had not noticed the physical contact between the two of them, nor had she noticed Xia Zhijun’s abnormality.

Xia Zhijun coughed lightly, took out his arm, and stood up. “It’s okay to be seen.”

Gu Siyi stood up after him. “Okay.”

Anyways it was not her who was lying to them, she could easily pretend to be unaware. But the three of them had already gone down, and they really hadn’t seen them.

On the way back, Xia Zhijun was silent, Gu Siyi felt that he was a little dazed and didn’t want to disturb him. Before long, the two arrived at Xia Zhijun’s house.

Xia Guangyu was away on a business trip, so it was the maid’s duty to help make the meals. Peng Ling even prepared a few of her signature dishes for the two teenagers.

“Hello Auntie, I’m here to have a meal.” Gu Siyi smiled sweetly.

Peng Ling smiled back in a similar fashion and said, “I wish you would come back for dinner with Ah Jun every week.”

She helped her with the bags and put them on the table. After noticing how full the bags were with books, she couldn’t help but feel proud of the girl. “This is just the beginning of school, and you just bought so many books? Siyi must find it easy to study.”

Gu Siyi could feel the embarrassment reaching her facial expressions, so she quickly looked down and threw out the first words that landed on her tongue. “N-no I just wanted to … be prepared in advance.” Xia Zhujin smirked at the reddening of his colleague’s face.

The food prepared for them was delicious, she could taste the richness of the spices with each bite, it was a warm welcome compared to the bland food made for them back at school.

Peng Ling could see the appreciation in Gu Siyi’s eyes, she was really a well-behaved girl. The more Peng Ling laid eyes on her during the meal, the more she grew attached to her. Gu Siyi was sensible, polite, educated, and her dining manners were impeccable, she looked like the lady of a proper family.

After eating, Peng Ling picked up some plates and turned to Gu Siyi. “Si Yi, I’ve cleaned up a room for you. You don’t have to go back tonight, feel free to sleep with us. We’ll take you back to school with Ah Jun tomorrow.”

Gu Siyi felt too embarrassed to refuse, so she smiled happily and said, “Thank you, Auntie.”

Peng Ling was prepared in advance for her and had a change of clothes ready for Gi Siyi in case she needed it. She led her to the bedroom and proudly showed her the pair of pajamas proudly. “I picked these just for you. Do you like them?”

Xia Zhijun stood by the door and couldn’t resist letting out a comment. “Those who don’t know better would think you are mother and daughter.”

Peng Ling chuckled a bit before answering him. “I’ve always wanted a daughter, Si Yi, how about you being my goddaughter?”

“Sure.” Gu Siyi answered without hesitation. Becoming her goddaughter meant becoming Xia Zhijun’s younger sister, and his thighs would be held more firmly and stably in the future.

Xia Zhijun’s original lazy expression changed, and he said solemnly, “I object.”

The two girls both looked at him with the same puzzled expression. “Are you scared that she’ll steal all your attention?” Peng Ling teased.

Gu Siyi grimaced on the side, she was worried that a certain someone would compete for favor if she became his sister.

Xia Zhijun seemed to be not joking at all. His tone proved that. “Anyways, I am against it.” He then turned to the door and left, raising his hand and pinching the bridge of his nose. There was an indescribable fire in his heart.

How do these adults talk like P? I also said that when I was a child, I ordered a baby kiss for them, and in a blink of an eye I was going to admit my daughter. What’s wrong with thinking one out. And so, because of Xia Zhijun’s objection, the matter was settled.

Late at night, Gu Siyi laid in bed, talking to her mother on the phone, complaining to her about her current situation. “You don’t understand how he acted, he said it with a straight face as if I was about to snatch his mother away … I was so embarrassed.”

“Your Uncle Xia is a high-ranking official and everyone is eager to get in touch with their family. Brother Xia may be a little more sensitive, but you should also pay attention to yourself and your character. You need to get along with Brother Xia, so don’t be annoying.”

Gu Siyi sat up from the bed and asked inexplicably, “What did I do that was annoying?”

“In short, your attitude is not likable. If you continue like this, people will reject you.”

Gu Siyi’s face fell as she was hit with a knowing heart. She was suddenly not in the mood to listen to what her mother had to say anymore. “It’s fine you don’t have to continue, I just want to tend to my wounds … I’m hanging up mom, good night.” Throwing away the phone, she laid down and sighed to herself.

She thought that the two were already sitting on the boat of friendship … Did it mean that she had to just turn it over? In the silence, Gu Siyi heard the sound of a piano.

The melody was ethereal and euphemistic, like weeping, and after listening to it for a while she realized that it was the tune of ’City in the Sky’. Curiosity drove Gu Siyi to get out of bed, walk out of the room and go to the source of the sound.

Both she and Xia Zhijun’s rooms were on the third floor and the voice came from the living room on the third floor.

There was no light in the living room and the moonlight poured in like a waterfall. The teenager sat in front of a piano as if he were bathing in the moonlight alone.

Gu Siyi stood in the corner and watched his elegance from not far away. At that moment, she felt that he had an arrogant, indifferent, and independent temperament.

After the song was over, Xia Zhijun looked at the figure that was apparent to him from the piano reflection. “Why are you hiding there?”

“Ah? I’m not hiding.” Gu Siyi leaned against the corner. “I heard that a safe distance between people is needed. Crossing the line will make people uncomfortable. Your personality is relatively cold, and you may need a lot of personal space, so it’s good for me to stand here.”

Xia Zhijun closed the piano cover, got up, and walked towards Gu Siyi. Standing in the corner, she was suddenly a little confused as she watched the young man’s tall figure get closer to her with a slight sense of oppression.
