Gu Siyi struggled to swim in the ocean of knowledge as she was stuck on a math problem and couldn’t figure out how to solve it.

While trying her hardest to solve the question, her phone rang once more. She felt irritated to have someone call her until she saw the caller ID.

“Hello?” She picked up.

“I have a question to ask, is the time convenient for you?” Xia Zhijun’s clear voice came from the other end. “I’m downstairs, so if it is convenient you can bring your book down.” He continued.

“…” Gu Siyi didn’t expect him to come downstairs to meet her.

However, Gu Siyi, who was thirsty for knowledge, didn’t care about the details anymore. She picked up her counseling book, scratch paper, and gel pen then hurried downstairs without hesitation.

Wherever Xia Zhijun stood, there seemed to be a spotlight, and people who passed by frequently looked back at him. The most surprising part being that the cold school grass would wait for someone downstairs in the girls’ dormitory.

Gu Siyi trotted all the way down to Xia Zhijun, who hurried up to meet her, holding on to her shoulder and saying, “Slow down, don’t you have a stomachache?”

Er… I forget about that.

Gu Siyi paused pace, then frowned and covered her stomach. “er, my stomach does not feel good….”

Xia Zhijun narrowed his eyes before answering her. “From where you’re holding, it looks like you have an abdomen ache, not a stomach ache.”

“…”

Gu Siyi’s expression froze for a second, then changed to a more uncomfortable wry smile. “It turned out to be an abdomen ache… The pain confused me. I couldn’t tell my stomach from my abdomen.”

Xia Zhijun was speechless, and handed a bag he was carrying to Gu Siyi. “Take this.”

Gu Siyi took it and opened it. There were a few lunchboxes inside, and the heat and aroma spread out through the closed lid.

“Find a place to eat and I’ll carry you on my back.”

“…” Before Gu Siyi could think about it, Xia Zhijun squatted down in front of her. She was taken aback by his offer and immediately tried to refuse him.

“Don’t you have a stomachache?”

“It’s okay … I can walk on my own,” she said, with hesitation in her voice.

“With me here, you always insist on a P,” said Xia Zhijun with an unhappy tone. “Come on.”

Gu Siyi felt his indomitable coercion again, then lay her body on his back reluctantly. When Xia Zhijun started walking, she slowly recovered from feeling awkward.

The last time Gu Siyi was carried on someone’s back was when she was carried to the hospital by her father a few years ago. Xia Zhijun was the second person of the opposite sex to carry her.

She was holding the rolled-up book in one hand, and the bag with food in the other when the refreshing mint smell mixed with a lightly sweet breath struck her from the nape of his neck. Gu Siyi’s cheeks flushed uncontrollably. She held her breath quietly as if continuing to take in his scent was a bad thing.

She felt all the envious gazes looking towards her when they passed by. But didn’t bother looking back at them. Gu Siyi did not feel uncomfortable on his back and felt that she was taking advantage of Xia Zhijun’s kindness while also soaking in all the attention.

Fortunately, they didn’t go very far, as Xia Zhijun found an unmanned multimedia classroom nearby.

After placing her down, he took the bag from Gu Siyi’s hand and pulled out the lunchboxes from inside. She noticed two porridge bowls and three light dishes. They looked delicious.

“Since you had a stomachache, I prepared porridge and stomach medicine for you, but you have an abdomen ache.” After that, Xia Zhijun glanced at her and sneered.

Gu Siyi slapped her forehead at the gesture. “Stupid.”

She called him stupid but she knew in her heart that he was inexplicably sweet. The smirk did really look silly though.

“But, you have prepared so many things for me, I don’t think I can finish them,”

“I didn’t eat either, so let’s eat together.”

“Oh.” Responded Gu Siyi with a surprised tone, she then sat next to him and nodded in agreement.

With the two sitting in a row, drinking porridge and eating vegetables. Gu Siyi completely forgot about the abdomen ache. She meant to pretend that she couldn’t eat much but ended up eating a full bowl of porridge.

After eating, they took the initiative to clean up, wipe the table and collect the trash. Xia Zhijun observed her working hands and feet and thoughtfully said, “you look fine.”

“…” only then did she remember that she was still ‘sick’

If he finds out that I only pretended to be ill and made him carry me all the way and eat his food, will I be beaten to death?

Gu Si forced an awkward act and tried to come up with a lie. “Yes, my stomach doesn’t hurt anymore … the delicious porridge healed me….”

“Perhaps your stomach hurts in bursts,” said Xia Zhijun leisurely, focusing on the girl’s red earlobe, fully exhibiting the beautiful quality of being difficult.

“Well, I felt pain before, but now it’s all right.” Gu Siyi breathed a sigh of relief in her heart, thanking God for fooling him. “I’m going to take out the garbage now.”

Xia Zhijun watched as the girl walked outside the classroom with a garbaged bag in hand, wearing a school uniform jacket, white lapel short sleeves, and a black midi skirt. Her ponytail was moving simultaneously with her skirt corners.

He lazily propped his head, spinning a gel pen in his hand, watching her go in and out when she approached him step by step and sat beside him again.

Just as Gu Siyi sat down, Xia Zhijun raised his hand and gently squeezed her earlobe.

“Don’t move.” He whispered with a husky voice that she was not familiar with.

“What are you doing?” Gu Siyi questioned.

“Have you ever seen ‘Inuyasha’?” asked Xia Zhijun, blatantly ignoring her question. (Note: Inuyasha is a Japanese anime with the main character had dog-like ears)

“I have seen it.” Gu Siyi didn’t understand why he was suddenly mentioning the very old anime.

“Your ears are like Inuyasha, it makes people want to pinch and play with them,” said Xia Zhijun.

Inuyasha’s raised dog ears appeared in Gu Siyi’s mind, she was about to explode from anger. She turned away to shake off his hands, and covered her blushing ears, “Are you saying that my ears are the same as dog ears?”

Without waiting for him to answer, she spoke again. “My ears are not so pointed, your description is too far-fetched! I resolutely won’t talk with you again!”

Xia Zhijun couldn’t hold it back and laughed uncontrollably.

Gu Siyi sat aside angrily. After looking back at him to show her frown, she calmed down a bit at seeing his laughing face.

The way he laughs is so pretty….

“Okay, enough jokes, give me your textbook so we can study.”

Gu Siyi listened to him and opened the book with slight irritation apparent in her mood, she stopped at the current chapter and placed the book in front of him.

Xia Zhijun forced out a smile while examining the question. Just as quickly as he read the question he wrote the steps to the answer beside the question.

Gu Siyi was surprised by his speed and asked, “Don’t you even think about it?”

“It’s clear at first glance.” And just like that, he was done with the first question which took Gu Siyi a while to just comprehend.

“…”

She was originally proud of herself for having known as far as she did, as the teacher never mentioned these questions in class, they were considered ‘Advanced Learning’. But seeing now that he solved it in less than 10 seconds her confidence took a big blow. His speed is akin to that of a computer. She thought.

“Can you understand the steps?” Asked Xia Zhijun honestly.

She silently moved her head over to study the written steps and nodded in response. It was so clear that the steps made the question look simple. Why hadn’t I thought about it before?

Xia Zhijun nodded, then looked at the time and said, “I’ll stay with you for another half an hour, so ask me anything you want.”

“Oh good, Thank you,” said Gu Siyi sincerely.
