Xia Zhijun played games on his mobile phone while Gu Siyi sat aside doing the questions. He put on his earphones considerately, so she wouldn’t be distracted by the noises.

While thinking about the next question, Gu Siyi felt stuck again.

All sorts of thoughts started appearing in her mind.

Would Xia Zhijun solve this question in minutes?

Would I appear stupid if I asked him again?

Is it fine to ask him again, or should I think about it longer?

Is it that hard to ask?!

In the end, she skipped the stressful question.

After a long while of solving a few other questions thanks to Xia Zhijun’s example, she turned her head to find him sound asleep on the desk beside her. His posture was very casual, with one earplug hanging off his ear.

She took off her coat, and lightly placed it on his shoulders, after noticing the hanging earphones, she took them off him and placed them on the table. As curiosity set in, she picked them up again and put them in her own ears, and was surprised to find the song ‘Mayday’ playing.

‘Walking in the wind, the sun today is suddenly so gentle. The gentleness of the sky and the gentleness of the earth, like you holding me….’

It was an old song but hearing it again made it sound better than before.

She kept the earplugs on and bobbed her head lightly to the beat of the song. Her eyes eventually fell back onto Xia Zhijun, who was sleeping beside her, with an indescribable satisfaction filling her heart.

She unconsciously smiled at the sight of him, and her eyes filled with an anonymous joy.

After playing the song a couple of times, she took off the earplugs and placed them on the table for him before getting back to her work.

Gu Siyi couldn’t decide whether to wake him up and tell him to go rest in the dorms, for the time being, or leave him and go to class together when the bell rings. After some thought process she decided to leave him as is. She still wanted to continue solving questions during the lunch break.

While Xia Zhijun was half-asleep, a light scent made him twitch his nose. He generally didn’t like the smell of people, including all kinds of perfumes. But this smell seemed to have a natural feeling of closeness, it was one of the few smells that he felt comfortable in and this made him more relaxed than ever.

When he woke up, he realized that the origin of the smell was a coat that was placed on his shoulders.

Gu Siyi put away the book after noticing him and said, “Your time is almost up, let’s go back to class.”

Xia Zhijun stayed in the same position and didn’t move, as if he hadn’t fully woken up yet, clutching her jacket.

“Let’s go,” said Gu Siyi getting up and grabbing her coat from him. She was stopped by the tugging of Xia Zhijun’s hands, not letting her have her coat back. She looked at him with a confused expression and found him staring back with a cold stubborn look.

Gu Siyi let go of her uniform jacket from how stunned she was.

After noticing her face, Xia Zhijun looked at the coat in his hand then back at the confused girl. He pinched the bridge of his nose and threw the coat back to her. “Sorry, I was still half-asleep.”

“Oh….” Gu Siyi breathed a sigh of relief, “So, now you feel like waking up?”

“En.” Xia Zhijun yawned lazily and stood up.

The two left together, walked through the campus, and entered their classroom just as the bell rang.

Since he napped at noon, Xia Zhijun was in good spirits later that day, while Gu Siyi was the complete opposite. She felt extremely sleepy throughout the entire class and desperately forced herself to stay awake.

Finally, when class was over, she lied on her table to have a short nap when Zheng Peipei leaned into her ear and whispered, “I heard that Xia Zhijun waited for you downstairs in the dormitory at noon, and went to class with you on his back.”

“…” How does gossip spread this fast?

“Hey, can you tell me what it feels like to be carried by Xia Zhijun?” She continued. “I’ve never seen him carry a girl before. And Where did you go during your lunch break? I noticed you dozing off during the class.”

“Went to study… now let me sleep….” Gu Siyi did not feel like giving detailed answers with her current state of mind.

Zheng Peipei kept going anyways. “Why did he have to carry you to study?”

“…”

“Tsk … I didn’t really notice this before, he’s such a slimy person.”

“…”

“Are you in a relationship?”

“!!!” Gu Siyi sat up in shock by the question, completely lost sleep. “Don’t talk nonsense,” she said, taken aback by the question.

“Oh….” A sly grin spread across Zhen Peipei’s face. “Then what do you think of him? Do you like him?”

“I don’t like him! Stop asking me about this!” Gu Siyi’s voice was slightly higher pitched than it should have been, but it didn’t muster much attention.

Zheng Peipei snickered to herself and turned back to the cold-looking boy behind her. “Ah Jun, did you hear that? Little sister dimple said she doesn’t like you.”

Xia Zhijun, who was reading, faintly glanced in their direction, it wasn’t clear if he was happy or angry.

Lu Jiaye laughed loudly when he heard their banter. “My sister is really extraordinary, and she won’t be soaked so easily.”

Gu Siyi’s head was blown up by them, and she got up from how humiliated she was and announced: “I’m going to the bathroom.”

Right as she left, Zheng Peipei sat on her seat and smiled at Xia Zhijun. “Is it accidental? Or out of pity?”

Xia Zhijun was expressionless. Out of nowhere, he pulled Lu Jiaye’s book onto his table, tore off a piece of paper, and hit it right in the temple of Zheng Peipei’s face.

Zheng Peipei almost fell off her chair, not from the strength of the hit, but rather the suddenness of the act. “Ouch!”

Although it didn’t hurt much, it really hurt her heart.

However, Zheng Peipei got up quickly, grabbed the book, and tore off a piece of herself.

Lu Jiaye’s eyelids at the second time his book was being torn. “why are you tearing up my book!”

Zheng Peipei crumpled the piece of paper into a ball and threw it at Xia Zhijun.

Xia Zhijun leaned back slightly, and easily avoided it, just for it to land on Lu Jiaye’s face.

His face burned from irritation. “Not only do you guys tear my book, but now you’re using me as a target?!”

Zheng Peipei looked at him with a disgusted expression. “I was smacked in the face you know? But all you care about is your stupid book”

While the two quarreled, Xia Zhijun got up and left the classroom without looking back.

Su Han came over after noticing all the commotion Su Han came to make peace between the two. “You can always buy a new book Lu Jiaye, but getting smacked in the face by paper does hurt.”

Zheng Peipei nodded in agreement. “That’s right, I was smashed in the face. Xia Zhijun is fierce.”

Li Jiaye rolled his eyes in irritation. “He’s always been fierce, you’re just finding that out now?” He really couldn’t understand them sometimes.
