The cold water felt refreshing as Gu Siyi stood in front of the bathroom mirror, Her drowsiness was finally beginning to subside.

When returning to class, her eyes met with a certain Xia Zhijun standing in the middle of the corridor.

“…”

Uh oh! The Study God doesn’t look happy! I can see a thick layer of ice in those deep black eyes! She immediately backtracked her actions trying to think of what she did wrong.

Her mind eventually fell on the last sentence she shouted out. “I don’t like him!”. She just didn’t want Zheng Peipei to think they were a couple. But it didn’t mean that they disliked each other or hated him in any way. She felt it necessary to explain this to him since it was her fault.

I’ll try to slip it into the conversation at lunchtime to explain to the others, but I have to explain to him first.

Xia Zhijun was leaning against the corridor railing, while Gu Siyi was holding onto it. First, I need to arrange my thoughts.

There were many classmates in the hallway, as well as people laughing and having fun. Gu Siyi inched closer to Xia Zhijun until the two were only a line apart.

She gently pulled on the waist of his shirt to grab his attention and shyly said, “I didn’t mean that just now….”

Xia Zhijun, to her horror, remained silent. He didn’t even look her way. She wanted to come up with something else but the bell cut them off.

RRRRRRRIIIIIIIING

Everyone ran to the side in lines and returned to their classrooms, not wanting to be late, Gu Siyi herself hurried to class when Xia Zhijun grabbed her arm tightly and pulled her aside.

She was in a position where her back faced the wall and she had to look up to face him. “It’s class time!” She squeaked, trying to understand what was happening.

Xia Zhijun raised his hand, rubbing her ears through his fingertips, with a smile on his face, giving off an air of I’m not to be messed with.

There was no one in the corridor, and Gu Siyi’s heart was beating wildly. She didn’t know what to do.

After what felt like an eternity in her eyes the towering boy spoke words clearer than all her teachers combined. “Come over tonight and explain what you just said to me clearly.” And with that, he let go of her and walked into class like nothing happened.

Gu Siyi just stood there for a few moments trying to catch up to her beating heart. When her head finally came to its senses she hurried into the classroom after him, burying her head in her hands to hide the embarrassment.

This class was history, and a middle-aged male teacher wearing glasses appeared full of wit and humor as he spoke from the podium. But despite his enthusiasm, the students below were studying science subjects without really being interested in history.

Gu Siyi, on the other hand, was busy with her own analysis, studying Xia Zhijun’s words in her mind. Ah, how am I gonna explain it to him?

She simulated scenarios in her mind to try and find her best option, such as hugging his thighs and calling him Dad, or reading an eight hundred word self-discipline letter

… Also, take him to the supermarket and spend a lot of money, and arrogantly pack him the whole shelf of sweet candy… For example….

Amidst her unrestrained imagination, Gu Siyi fell asleep and the world turned dark.

“Gu Siyi.”

“Gu Siyi.”

It took Zheng Peipei two hits for Gu Siyi to finally wake up. Just to find the history teacher reading his book out loud while touring the lecture room.

“Amitabha.”

She tried to shoo away her sleepiness and sat up straight to read her book.

“Gu Siyi.” This time the calling voice came from a deeper tone.

She immediately stood with drowsiness still clear in her posture. Noticing this, the teacher narrowed his big eyes.

Zheng Peipei kicked her foot underneath the table, and said in a low voice, “Read this paragraph.”

Gu Siyi glanced down and saw where his pen was pointing and swiftly began reading.

After reading a paragraph, the teacher asked her to sit down and continued to explain. Gu Siyi let out a sigh of relief and sat back down.

When class ended, Gu Siyi touched Zheng Peipei’s arm and said, “Thank you for before. I will buy you milk tea after school.”

Zheng Peipei smiled and snapped her fingers. “Great, now I get to drink milk tea.”

“From now on, you can sleep at ease in the class. I will definitely stand guard and set a whistle.”

“…”

Gu Siyi coughed lightly and explained, “Today was a special situation. I usually don’t sleep in class.”

She was set to study hard this year to get to the top. How could she ever achieve that by sleeping in class?

If I really want to sleep… I’ll only sleep in sub-classes!
