While chatting, it didn't take long for the couple to make it to the villa.
Walking in, the place surprisingly didn't feel unfamiliar, of course, this is mainly because Lorien made sure that its interior is very similar to their house in the Demon Slayer World.
"Hey, do you think that after I finish my journey and it's time to retire, I should settle down and start working as an architect? It seems that I have some talent in that field..." Joked Lorien, sitting down on the couch.
"And I'll start a demolition business!" Responded Saigai, rolling her eyes at him.
"That's a good idea! You can even secretly demolish some places and then I'll come and offer my services!"
"..."
"I'll take that as agreeing! Aren't we a great team!"
"..."
Glancing at Saigai who kept looking at him speechlessly, Lorien reluctantly stood up from the comfy couch and said as he started making his way towards the backyard.
"There are some things I need to test so I may not be there for lunch! Don't wait for me."
"Alright, Got it!"
Waving at her, Lorien started walking faster, wanting to reach the backyard as fast as he could.
Now that most of the mysteries he encountered in this world are solved, he wants to find out what changed in his body.
'Hopefully, it isn't something bad...'
Being not that far away from his destination, it didn't take Lorien long to reach it, and as he did, he immediately sat down under the 'newly born' Dream Tree.
This tree looked identical to the one planted back in the previous world with its golden cherry petals and dreamy vibe.
Sitting there, Lorien felt very relaxed, for some reason, no matter what world he is in, this has always been his favorite spot.
'Hmm??'
But then just as he was enjoying the serene atmosphere, Lorien suddenly turned his head towards the villa as if feeling something.
'This is...'
Switching perspectives using his ability, Lorien saw a large amount of scarlet-colored mist and cloud flood towards the house.
'It seems that I am not the only one who's busy!'
'Tsk, god knows how this amount of Doom Energy got accumulated, the humans in this world are lucky they just got a zombie apocalypse, I wouldn't be surprised if they suddenly get hit by a civilization-ending asteroid.'
Shaking his head, Lorien quickly suppressed all those miscellaneous thoughts and directly began his tests.
'Let's see...'
Closing his eyes, Lorien immediately began examining himself comprehensively, be it body, ability, or even soul!
'Nothing...'
'Still nothing...'
'Again...'
But even after repeating this a couple of times, Lorien still found nothing.
'What is happening?'
Frowning, Lorien felt annoyed, It's like when you are trying to put your phone charger in the electric outlet without looking but you keep failing; You know that it's there but you just can't plug it in, Lorien is now feeling a similar emotion.
'Ughhhhh!'
Feeling frustrated, he really wanted to just call it a day and just go back to the house, anyways, there is no harm as far as he could tell, and he could always check on it later.
'I'll try and find out what it is slowly.'
But then, just as he was about to stand up, Lorien's attention suddenly turned to the only aspect he haven't tried yet.
'Could it be...'
Focusing on the Source Energy scattered in all corners of his body, Lorien decided to give it a try.
Raising his hand, Lorien tried manipulating it.
At first, nothing happened, but then, after a couple more tries, he actually felt this Energy 'shake'.
"Yes! It's this feeling!"
What Lorien felt now is the exact same feeling he felt earlier which caused him to think that a mutation happened.
Discovering this, Lorien's mood instantly shifted from worry to excitement! And without delay, he started strengthening his efforts trying to further control it.
With his hands still raised, Lorien kept attempting to move his Energy there; It felt like he is trying to move something heavy while his hands are slippery, he could somewhat 'shake' it but anything more than that is very difficult.
Unphased by this, Lorien continued his efforts, and to his joy, he could feel that with each additional try he is gaining more control over it.
'Yes! This is it'
And Finally after about an hour, a small ball of dreamy multi-colored energy the size of a pea appeared on top of his hand.
It isn't much, but it is results!
"Hahhahah!"
"So that's how it is! It's not a mutation! it's just that I suddenly got the ability to manipulate the Source Energy inside of my body and I didn't know the feeling!"
It turns out that the reason why Lorien felt something different with his body is that some sort of 'shackle' was lifted!
But aside from joy, Lorien couldn't help but feel perplexed.
'Why did it get unlocked now? Why was I unable to manipulate it in the Demon Slayer World? Does it have something to do with the previous world, this world, or is it something entirely different?'
With one question answered, Lorien was suddenly faced with a whole new batch of them.
But unable to determine the reason, he didn't try wasting his time on those thoughts as he then continued trying to manipulate his Source Energy.
The more he did, the easier it became, it felt like suddenly gaining a completely new limb, and he just had to master it little by little.
This continued for another hour until Lorien finally felt like his improvements became very insignificant and any further progress would take a lot longer, at least days.
Realizing this, he immediately stopped and turned his head towards the villa.
'The Doom Energy isn't flooding toward the house anymore, so she must have finished absorbing'
'I should go and ask her to see if she could now also control the Energy inside of her body, at least then, I'll know if it's only me...'
'Doing so, I'll be able to infer many things...'
Finally deciding on this, Lorien didn't hesitate for a second as he walked into the house while loudly calling out.
"Saigai!"
