631 Baby’s Gender
Each time Zhang Li Xue had her prenatal check-up, Bai Qi will make sure to attend her check-up with her. Even if he could not make it, he would mention this to her mother-in-law and ask her to accompany his wife.
Bai Qi will try his best to accompany his wife.

As Zhang Li Xue entered her second trimester, her morning sickness had lessened and her appetite was slowly increasing.
Whenever Bai touched his wife’s stomach, he could feel the slight bump. Knowing that a child between him and his wife was growing in there gave him an indescribable feeling.
In the beginning, he did not wish for Zhang Li Xue to get pregnant too early after their marriage. But now that she was carrying his baby, Bai Qi was naturally happy.
He thought that if his parents were still alive, they would be very happy as well.
This child would be the eldest from both sides of the family. Bai Qi could imagine that when the baby was born, everyone will spoil and pamper this baby.

During the early stages of Zhang Li Xue’s pregnancy, Doctor Lin tried to look at the baby’s gender a few times. However, everything remained unclear.
According to Doctor Lin, the baby was quite playful. Each time it was time for an ultrasound, the baby would play hide and seek with them.
Bai Qi turned to his wife upon hearing what Doctor Lin said. He thought that his child really resembled his wife. Both were really playful.

On the next check-up, Doctor Lin gave Zhang Li Xue another ultrasound to check on the baby’s growth. This time, the baby was no longer playing hide and seek.
Doctor Lin looked at the image on the screen and smiled.
At the side, Bai Qi was looking into the monitor while holding his wife’s hand.
What Doctor Lin had seen was something that Bai Qi had also noticed. He pursed his lips into a thin line as he finally learned about the baby’s gender.
Doctor Lin looked at the expecting mother who was lying on the bed and smiled. “I can already see the baby’s gender. Mrs. Bai, would you like to know your child’s gender?”

Then, she turned to Bai Qi and looked at him inquiringly.

Doctor Lin followed Zhang Li Xue’s line of gaze and chuckled. “Doctor Bai, did you see it?”
A light crease appeared on Bai Qi’s forehead. “Un. I’ve seen it.”
Zhang Li Xue stared at her husband expectantly. “You’ve seen it? Is it a baby boy or a girl?”
Bai Qi opened his mouth to answer. However, when he saw the look on her face, Bai Qi decided to tease her a little bit. “Do you really want to know?”
Zhang Li Xue nodded. She gripped Bai Qi’s hand tightly and spoke, “Tell me.”
A helpless smile appeared on his lips as he looked at his wife. The initial intention of wanting to tease her quickly disappeared.
“Hubby, don’t make me anxious. It’s not good for the baby.”
Doctor Lin laughed as she watched the couple’s interaction from the side.
She had always heard that Doctor Bai was always serious at the hospital. However, whenever he was with his wife, Doctor Bai would turn gentler.
Bai Qi leaned over to his wife and whispered the baby’s gender.
Zhang Li Xue could not hide her surprise. Then, she could not stop smiling.

“Then, have you figured out what you are going to name our baby?”
Bai Qi pondered over her question for a while. “Let’s call the baby Bai Cai.” (Bai Cai = Chinese cabbage)
The corner of Zhang Li Xue’s lips began to twitch. “You are not going to name my child after a vegetable.” Zhang Li Xue chuckled. She could not tell if she wanted to laugh or be angry at her husband’s unserious answer.
“I’m joking.” Bai Qi smiled. “I’ll think of the name properly and give you an answer soon.”
It was only then that Zhang Li Xue was satisfied.
She snapped a photo of her baby’s scan and posted it on her moments while covering a few parts. Of course, Zhang Li Xue set it for her close friends and family members to see.

She looked at the caller ID and smiled before picking up the call. “Huan Huan.”
“Li Xue, your baby is too cute,” Mo Qing Huan commented.

Mo Qing Huan heaved a sigh. “Of course. Now I’m a little jealous. Perhaps I should talk to He Rong about this. Let him work hard a little more.”
