CHAPTER 248
On getting downstairs, both ladies where led to the dining area and to their surprise they saw Jenny, Sky, Jay, Macy and three other people seated at the table.
As for both of them, this was the first time they had seen the other three and they could not deny, their striking features were pulling and attractive enough.
Though there was a girl amongst them, the men with her were worthy of giving them more than just second glances and Asia found herself staring.
On elf them
guys had dark long black hair and the other had lovely red hair, though not as long as the first guy, but his did stand out as well. The girl on the other hand, she had a nice hair with color looking ash like and at the same time, looking blonde. Jade couldn't place the color as the ash was almost a keen to silver but could not compare with hers.
While they were taking in the appearance of the guests, everyone seated on the table looked in their direction.
The second the red haired guy saw Asia, his lips pulled back a fraction, revealing his tooth as he watched her lips part open in surprise.
"Jade!" Macy's voice pulled her out of her thought and even brought Asia back to reality.
Without a minute more to spare, the eager human, left her seat and rushed towards Asia and a Jade stood and hugged Jade with all of her might while resting her head against her friend's.
"I got scared you know."
"Why?"
"Because I found out that you were shot at."
"I see." She reluctantly peeled her gaze from Macy and looked over to the edge of the table where Xander sat. Surprising,y, he was not avoiding her gaze as she had thought but looked her in the eyes directly.
Ba-Dumm!
Instantly her heart beat became erratic with each passing second that they spent staring at each other's eyes, alerting Macy who still held her body close to hers.
"Jade, are you okay?" She pulled back to look at her friend, waiting for a favorable answer.
Thankfully, Jade had looked away so Macy did not catch what had caused her heart to start beating so fast.
"Yes. Why?"
"Your heart beat."
"Well, I guess I recalled the incident."

The next thing she knew, Macy hugged her neck so tight, patting her long silver hair down. "Don't be scared, you are safe now. I am here."
It took all the will power in Asia not to burst out laughing at that moment. Who was scared? Jade, the mafia lord or was it someone else?
Finally, Jade broke from the hug and patted Macy on the head. "Stop being a kid. I guess Jay has really spoilt the hell out of you for you to be like this. I am a grown up woman, I can take care of myself."
"Are you sure?"
Instantly, Jade's smile dropped and she looked to her side as her eyes caught sight of the owner of that voice.
She wasn't wrong though, everyone had their gaze in the same direction, everyone but Macy.
"You have a problem with me?"
"No, I am just saying. Are you sure you can take care of yourself? If I am not wrong, if not for Lord Xander, you may have fallen into their trap."
That was it. Jade was done playing it smooth with the newbie.
She took a step forward but Asia held her hand back, stopping her from doing anything rash. Looking back at her friend, all she could do was smile.
"I guess your eyes must have problem of you think I needed saving from anyone. Especially him."
Ouch, that was like a blow to Xander who had rushed there because he was scared. Regardless, he let the women have their go at each other and stayed out of it.
"What a lousy way to show gratitude."
Immediately those words fell out of her mouth, the black haired guy poked her on the arm, earning a glare at him. "Shut it Mini," he muttered butJade somehow, heard it.
"Let me be. She should know her place," mashed muttered back.
"If I did not know better, I would have thought that Lady..." Jade Hagen, waiting for her to say her name.
"Minerva," the lady voiced out.
"Minerva, thank you, is jealous that I had the dragon Lord coming to take me here personally." Jade smiled as she finished confronting Minerva before moving towards the two empty chairs that was close to where Macy had stood up from.
Taking the lead, Asia and Macy soon followed after her and each took their seat save for Jade who took her time to glance around the table.
She let out a soft sigh and picked her glass up as she took a sip of her drink. Ignoring her presence now that the whole fiasco was done, Jade made to sit down when her chair suddenly pulled back some more.
"Pff..." Minerva did not hold in her chuckle but as soon as she let it out, her eyes widened and she remained still.
Sensing something was going on, Jade looked over to Xander who was the prime suspect.
He did to hide his mischief but smiled at her and stretched his hand to his side where there was a feee seat close to Sky. "This is your seat."
"I want to sit besides Macy."
"You cannot. No stop being stubborn and come over."
No one else spoke but everyone had their gaze on the couple. All except you know who. She scoffed and turned her head to the side.
Seeing the jealousy wash over Minerva, Jade decided to go with Xander to get back at her.
Once she reached the empty chair at his right hand, he stood up, pulled the chair for her, allowed her go in, before drawing it in for her to seat.
Stylishly before he returned to his, he let his fingers brush against her shoulder and neck and then he went to take his seat.
