Chazz went first. He glanced at his hand, and scowled when I saw his small yellow Ojama monster floated around him. Before he yelled his turn, he muttered something under his breath, probably verbally attacking the Yellow Ojama. “For my first move, I’ll summon something with some bite! So Rise! Masked Dragon! In Defense mode!”

A giant red dragon appeared on the stage, an almost skull-like mask covering its face. “That’ll do for now!” He said with a smile on his face. “Not till you see what I got for ya!” Jayden yelled as he drew his card. He glanced at his cards for a moment before nodding. “Just what I wanted! I play Elemental Hero Burstinatrix!”

“Now Burstinatrix! Slay that dragon!” He yelled, causing the fiery hero to send a ball of flames towards the dragon, destroying it. Plenty of the audience cheered at Jayden’s lead, but I knew Chazz was just getting started. “Hah! All you did was take the bait!” Chazz announced happily, causing the audience to grow quiet yet again. “I activate my Masked Dragon’s special ability! You see Jayden, when Masked Dragon is destroyed by battle, I can special summon another dragon monster with 1500 or less attack points from my deck! And I have just the one! Come out Armed Dragon Lv 3!!”

The North Academy all started cheering, and Chazz’s brothers started complimenting him, if you could call it that. “I guess he can be useful for something.” “We had to take up the harder issues with world domination. Chazz should be able to handle at least the Dueling portion.” My frown deepened just listening to them talk, I decided to focus back on the Duel to stop myself from decking the both of them.
“Looks like I’m gonna throw down a face down and end my turn!” Jayden yelled happily looking at the new monster before him. “I can’t wait to see what he can turn into!” Chazz drew a card with a smile at Jayden’s remark. “Well good for you! Because you’re about to get a front row seat! Because Jayden, during my stand-by phase, my Armed Dragon Lv 3’s effect activates! So by sending him to the graveyard, and sacrificing his Level 3 form, I can summon Armed Dragon Lv 5 directly to the field!”

I nodded with a smirk at the powerful dragon Chazz was able to summon on his second turn. ‘Dragon monster’s are powerful, and if everything goes the way I hope I’m gonna be getting a couple favorites of mine.’ “Wow, Chazz has some very amazing monsters.” Blair whispered to me, trying to keep her voice down. I whispered back into her ear myself, I still had to record Chazz’s brothers. “Those cards he probably got for making his way to the top of North Academy.” “He must be a good Duelist.” I just nodded at her as we both focused back on the Duel.
“Wow Chazz! That dragon is pretty sweet, but so’s my trap!” Jayden smiled as he revealed his face down. “Hero Ring!” The trap card quickly vanished, and reappeared itself near Burstinatrix. “Since I equipped it to Burstinatrix, monsters with 1900 or more attack points can't attack her! Them’s the breaks!” He chuckled as Burstinatrix grabbed onto the shield, holding in front of herself to keep herself safe. However Jayden’s chuckle didn’t last long. Chazz started laughing hysterically in response, confusing Jayden.
“You want breaks? Sorry Jayden, but the Chazz stops for no one! Because with Armed Dragon Lv 5’s special ability, I can send one monster from my hand to the grave, and when then I can destroy one monster that has less than or equal attack points!” Jayden’s mouth hung open from shock. “Wait, what!?” Chazz didn’t give him any time to breath before continuing his move. “So by sending another Armed Dragon Lv 3 to my graveyard, I can destroy your monster! Now, Armed Dragon Lv 5! Shrapnel Blast!”
All of Armed Dragon’s spikes then rocketed from his body, destroying the shielding hero on Jayden’s field, leaving him defenseless. However, Chazz wasn’t done just yet. “And since I only summoned Armed Dragon Lv 5 with his ability, I can normal summon Kamikiri #1 to beat you down!”

A mantis-like bug summoned on the field. I didn’t really remember Chazz ever using this monster, nor any insect monsters now that I saw this one in front of me. I had no idea what it’s effects were, but decided to stop thinking and enjoy the show. “I definitely didn’t give Chazz a card like that.” “Are you sure?” I was stopped by the brothers' conversation instead. “Of course I’m sure! You think I would stoop so low to touch insect monsters! The Armed Dragon I wasn’t completely sure, but now I’m certain! Chazz isn’t using our cards!” They both hissed to each other under their breaths.
“He’s doing well regardless, however if he fails then we’ll just have to take care of things on our own.” One then hit his leg in anger while grinding his teeth. “I just can't believe that, that slacker is going out of his way to ruin things for us again!” “Just act nicely if he wins. Remember, we’ll have to make him happy for a while before we can take over Dueling ourselves without him.” “Right… Yea.” I sighed listening to their conversation, trying to keep my anger for them under wraps, and watching the Duel continue on.
“So now I’ll have both Kamikiri #1 and Armed Dragon Lv 5 attack you directly!” Chazz initiated his attack, and both monsters rushed towards Jayden, each slashing him with their scythes and claws respectively. Jayden was blown back as his life points fell drastically. He slowly got up to his feet, revealing the last few of his life points left.

Jayden scratched the back of his head with a chuckle. “Aw man, next time I’d like to have a stunt double for that bit.” He let out a laugh angering Chazz. “Just make your move already so I can win next turn!” Jayden smirked while putting his hand on the top of his deck, ready to draw. “I wouldn’t be so sure about that! My deck still has plenty of tricks left! I Draw!” He glanced at the card, and grinned. “Like this one!! Because I summon Elemental Hero Bubbleman in attack mode!”

I squinted from confusion. ‘Attack mode? I understand if you need the cards to summon him, but this is anime rules. You can just place him in defense position to activate his effect.’ “And since he is the only card on my field, I get to draw two more cards!” He quickly drew his other two cards before showing them. “Sweet! Now I’ll use my polymerization to fuse Avion, and Sparkman with Bubbleman on the field to make!”
All of the three monsters started to morph into one in a bright and colorful display. “Wait for it!” Jayden yelled out as the lights descended back onto the ground forming a new hero. “Elemental Hero Tempest!!”

“And he gives a new definition to the term air power! Tempest! Glider Strike his Armed Dragon!” The monster then took off from the ground, and powered his arm cannon. He let out a beam of energy that completely destroyed the massive dragon, and lowering Chazz’s life points a small amount.

“Nice work Jayden! You were able to damage me!” Chazz yelled snidely while lightly brushing off his black coat. “Too bad he’s gonna come right back thanks to my trap! Call of the haunted!” Chazz showcased the card, and the Armed Dragon Lv 5 slowly rose back from the ground, not missing a scale. Jayden shook his head slightly with a smile. “Can’t blame me for trying! I guess I’ll just throw down two face downs and end my turn!”
“I Draw!” Chazz yelled, but didn’t even spare the card a glance. “Now I’ll have my Armed Dragon level up one last time! So rise! Armed Dragon Lv 7!!” Chazz yelled with his finger pointing in the air upward. The massive dragon slowly rose from the ashes, and let out a hideously loud roar. Blair, Alexis, and I all covered our ears to spare ourselves from permanent hearing damage. Blair then whispered under her breath in magnificence, almost in a trance staring at the massive Dragon. “Wow…”

“Now I’ll send Despair from the Dark from my hand to the grave to destroy your little fly boy there! Armed Dragon Lv 7! Serrated Sonic Disk!!” He laughed while the spikes took off towards Jayden’s Tempest. However Jayden was quicker. “I activate the spell Diffusion!! Quick Defuse Tempest!” Jayden had all of his monsters reform into defense position to cover his life points this time.

Chazz clicked his tongue in response. “Doesn’t matter! I still have both of their attacks! Kamikiri! Destroy his Bubbleman!” Kamikiri dashed to Bubbleman, and sliced directly through him with his scythe. “And I won't let you summon your Wingman Jayden! Armed Dragon Lv 7! Destroy his Avian!” As the Dragon brought down his massive clawed hand to stab and smash Jayden’s monster, Jayden smiled, and to my surprise, gave me a nod.
“I activate my other quick-play spell! Mask Change!!”
“Let’s Duel!” Both Jayden and Chazz yelled as they drew their cards.
