Ning Zhi dashed out of the hotel and hid behind a tree. Shortly after, she returned to being invisible.
She then walked back into the hotel with a calm look.
“Mom, let’s bring Xiao Jue upstairs to get changed. I worry that he will get sick.”
Lu Shenyuan’s lips were pale, and his clothes and hair were drenched. He was, however, showing that he worried and cared about Lu Jue more than his own well-being. He didn’t seem to mind what the girl had said about him earlier at all and appeared like he had nothing to hide.
Mother Lu still remembered what the girl had said. The anger on her face didn’t seem to be faked.
But it didn’t look like her older son was lying either.
All along, Lu Shenyuan had always doted on and cared about Lu Jue. He always put Lu Jue before everything else. Why would he suddenly decide to harm Lu Jue?
Besides, he was the one who brought Lu Jue out. If anything happened to Lu Jue, he would be the number one suspect. That would not be a wise move on his part.
Mother Lu pondered over it some more. Could it all be a misunderstanding? Maybe the girl was too far away and thought she saw Lu Shenyuan pushing Lu Jue into the water when he was, in fact, trying to pull him out?

Mother Lu turned to look at Father Lu for guidance on what to do next.
“Bring Xiao Jue upstairs, Shenyuan. You go change as well. I’ll have someone look into the incident,” said Father Lu.
Lu Shenyuan looked the same as he was before, all the more looking like he had nothing to hide. “Alright, I am going to head upstairs to change.”
Ning Zhi saw Father Lu make a call and have someone look into the surveillance video in the southern area of the resort.
Ning Zhi didn’t have high hopes for the surveillance video. Given Father Lu’s thorough personality, he must have had someone look into the incident last time when Lu Jue fell into the water as well.

Sure enough, Father Lu quickly received a call from his subordinate, informing him that there were no cameras in the south end.

Lu Jue looked over at Ning Zhi. He thought Odd Big Sister had disappeared again.
The young man was so drenched that water was still dripping off of him, forming a small puddle on the floor where he stood.
With his pale lips pinched shut, he quietly looked at her with his limpid pitch-black eyes. Water droplets trickled down from his bangs, making him look like an abandoned puppy. He looked very pitiful.
“I am not going anywhere just yet. Go and change out of your wet clothes first.” Ning Zhi comforted the young man.
Lu Jue blinked, and under Mother Lu’s surprised look, he picked up the clothes that had been prepared for him and walked inside of the bathroom.
Mother Lu let out a sigh and said to Father Lu, “I had just told you that our son refused to change, and he went to get changed. Do you think he’s afraid of you?”
Father Lu wasn’t sure what to make of that. After reflecting on it quickly, however, he didn’t agree with his wife’s conclusion. He was very certain because his son did not pay him any attention since he had gotten upstairs.
