Winston was currently on the couch in the living room watching TV, although he had the TV on he wasn't watching anything in particular, he was just lost in thought looking for a way to improve Slipstream.

David said he can no longer help him due to the maintenance of I-Island and the I-Expo, plus his jobs have been delayed a lot. Which left Winston alone to look for a way to make the Slipstream more compact and efficient, after all, he doesn't want to see his daughter always carrying a big machine on her back just so she can live a normal life....

He wasn't particularly worried about Lena's speech and writing problem, he can always re-teach it to her and knowing that Lena is quite intelligent it shouldn't take too long....

"I guess my priority is to compact, optimize and improve the Slipsteam..." Winston muttered to himself.
Getting up from the couch and went to the kitchen to prepare a lot of food, before heading down to the basement with all the food in his hands.

He went to Lena's capsule before opening it, inside the capsule you can see a bed, a couch, a table with two chairs, a bathroom, a bookshelf full of books and a small TV.

Lena was reading a book about... astronomy?, okey that was unexpected.

"Hey Lena, I brought you your lunch, some chicken, salad and-" Winston greeted his daughter with a smile,

Lena stopped reading, looked at her father and then at the food with stars in her eyes. Apparently being attached to the Slipstream wastes some of her Entropic Energy constantly so she is hungry very frequently, although the energy expenditure is not very great, Winston believes he can improve the Slipstream so that it expends less energy.

Lena gave Winston a quick hug before bringing the plate of food to the table and starting to eat quickly without manners.

"Lena, manners looks like an animal" Winston scolded her for eating like an animal, funny knowing the Quirk Winston owns.

Lena simply pouted at him before eating slower but still without much manners.

Winston could only smile wryly before exiting the capsule and heading to his computer, opening a 3D creation application that worked exclusively for electronic device creation, Winston opened the blueprints for the Slipstream 4.0 Prototype and began modifying it, hoping to reduce its size without altering the Matter Anchor or power source too much.

"It's going to be a busy few months..."

The U.S. Department of Technology and Science was quite excited due to David and Winston's recent discoveries about Entropy, some of the scientists were beginning to try to understand Entropic Energy, if it could be understood it could be used to obtain several very advanced discoveries for mankind, e.g. time travel, delaying aging, reviving the dead by reversing their time, etc.

These ideas alone made almost the entire American scientific community excited and fighting tooth and nail to see who would be the first to obtain the desired results, without knowing that the other nations were watching their research, especially two scientists named, Moira O'Deorain and Angela Ziegler, each for different reasons...

Winston was currently using a 3D creation machine to create a device, said device wasn't very big, but it wasn't exactly small either, it looked like some sort of chest armor, only this one had a strange circle in the middle that seemed to be off, the strange armor, which was too unprotected to be armor, was painted in a white and grey color with black colored leather straps and so it wouldn't bother the person wearing it inside it had a soft light brown fabric inside.

"Finally...it's ready!!!" Exclaimed Winston excited that he could finally finish creating a compact and functional Slipstream, all previous attempts were a complete failure, in fact, this is the 76th attempt....

Carefully picking up the device with trembling hands, he picked it up as if it were something very fragile.

After years of retiring as a scientist, after so long, he felt again that sense of accomplishment of creating something that made him proud....

Slowly walking back to the capsule where Lena had been living for three years, after a few months of the creation and operation of the 4.0 prototype, Lena was able to write and speak English again with Winston's help, but it took her about a year and a half to relearn how to speak and write Japanese from scratch.

During these years Lena has been doing various things besides remembering languages, with Winston's supervision she was able to use acceleration and reverse again after a while, although these expended more energy than before, possibly due to Slipstream, using all the free time she had due to, well, it's not like she could get out of the capsule without becoming a ghost... I can find various ways to creatively use her Entropic Energy.

Winston opened the door of the capsule and entered the room, inside was Lena on a treadmill at a high speed, around him could be seen some other things like a dumbbell and a treadmill for doing squats.

After hearing the capsule door open Lena stopped the treadmill and took a sip of water before turning to look at her father.
"Hi Daddy!!! I'd give you a hug but I'm sweaty..." Lena said with her trademark smile as she scratched the back of her head.

Lena had grown quite a bit in the last few years she was quite tall for an 8 year old girl (141cm), she had short spiky hair as she doesn't like to have long hair as according to the annoying her, she was pretty fit to only start exercising a year ago, although she mainly only does resistance and leg workouts.

The reason Lena started exercising other than boredom was because according to David's data, the Entropic Energy was slowing down Lena's aging internally but not externally, i.e. while Lena might live for 120 years her body will look like that of a 20 year old, to a person hearing this may seem like a blessing to have something like Eternal Youth, but in truth it was quite bad, your body would be out of sync and various side effects would occur, cancer, nausea, memory lapses, optical and auditory illusions... and the list went on and on. ... and the list went on and on.

To solve this problem David proposed to use the Entropic Energy in a slightly more creative way, to use the Entropic Energy against itself, the result: Lena will be able to live longer and instead of stagnating at a certain age, her body will improve to its best possible shape "growing" at an accelerated rate for a person of her age. According to the analysis Lena should be around 175cm tall at 15 which is quite tall for a teenager of that age, more so for a female.

"Don't worry, how's the exercise going?" Winston smiled in good humor as he looked at Lena.

"Not bad, I can run about 40 kilometers before I drop down exhausted...what's that?" replied Lena as she takes another sip of water before pointing her finger at the device in Winston's arms.

Winston smiled mysteriously as he walked over to the table and carefully set the device down.

"Today my child, is the day where you will see the sunlight again" Winston replied with warmth and joy as he looked Lena in the eyes.
Lena's eyes widened in shock as she looked at the device in front of her with great intensity but mostly with hope, her memories before incidents may be a little vague but if there is one thing she knows what she misses it is the outdoors, being cooped up indoors for days on end is not for her, much less being locked in a capsule for years....

She was about to pick up the new Slipstream but before that....

"First go take a bath then you can take the Slipstream" Her father said sternly, leaving her pouting but too excited at the prospect of getting out to reply so she went to the bathroom to quickly take a shower.

After a few minutes she emerged from the bathroom dressed in casual clothes, a white shirt and black shorts.

With Winston's help Lena put on the new Slipstream...although it was a bit heavy it was nothing Lena couldn't handle.

"First redirect the power from the old Slipstream to the new one..."

Lena nodded as she quickly cut lar energy from the old one and placed it into the new one.

FUUUUUUMMMMM!!!

With a big sound, the circle in the middle of the Slipstream lit up in a blue color, above it was projected a small circle with several. Lena feeling that she could move beyond a limited area, when she was linked with the 4.0 prototype, she felt that there was a barrier that she could not cross... but now that barrier was gone, Lena could not help but be moved and shed some tears, Winston simply stood up and gave a soft hug to his daughter who could finally see the world again....

After a few long minutes, they finally separated from the embrace with Winston wiping away Lena's tears of happiness.

Winston simply smiled softly before explaining the new Slipstream functions: "As you can notice the new one is always much more comfortable and natural than the old one, but that's not all, you can integrate an energy meter, the circle in the middle of your chest indicates how much cooldown time your abilities have, when the circle is empty it means you should wait a few minutes before Accelerate or Reverse, the brightness means how much energy your body has, the brighter the more energy, and vice versa, the less bright the less energy there is in your body" Explained Winston going into his scientific mode speaking slowly, Lena just nodded noting deep in her soul the limitations she had, she doesn't want to repeat that incident....

"So what happens if the Slipstream is destroyed or damaged?" asked Lena tilting her head but in the back of her mind she already knew the answer.

"You... well, you'll go back from dematerializing and out of sync with the present, essentially reverting back to being a ghost" Winston replied with a frown as what Lena feared came true.

But he also thought that there wouldn't be much of a problem, mainly due to her absurd speed, it was pretty hard to hit her and from what he sees a simple bullet can't get through the material the Slipstream is made of, but either way she'll be careful.

Winston proceeded to brief her further on her new device before they decided to leave the basement.

Lena was feeling especially nostalgic to see the house again after so long, she wondered if her stuffed animal of Nana Shimura would still be in her old room.

Winston led her to the backyard of the house, opening the door she could see a small yard with grass and a few flowers of various colors.

The weather was perfect, the clouds were clear and there was a bright sun in the sky along with a refreshing breeze.

Winston was the first to go to the courtyard while Lena just watched from the door frame, Winston was confused as to why Lena wasn't moving but he could see that her hand was shaking slightly so he decided to take her hand to calm her down and slowly lead her outside.
Lena felt like she was in some kind of dream, she felt like this was all just something from her imagination to keep her sane from all those years of confinement or just a trick of her head, it was not uncommon for her to have some delusions....

But it felt real... the grass, the flowers, the wind, the sun's rays... everything.

It felt natural...

Without Lena noticing tears began to spill from her face as she stared into the sun.

"Lena... you're free, welcome back..." Winston murmured as he hugged her and stroked her head.

Only after hearing her father's words, Lena finally understood that she wasn't dreaming, that this was all reality and that she wasn't going to disappear from one moment to the next....

She was finally free...
