Chapter 99.3. Adventurers’ Guild’s Protagonist

Frigg, the genius goddess. I asked Frigg, who was lying on the sofa in My Room and munching on a bowl of gold, how she comes up with such a variety of ideas, and she humbly replied that it is the power of love and fertility. I admire her. By the way, the gold tooth was a real gold brim.

But I also admire my dad’s decisiveness in deciding to enter into a partnership with a venture company. A high-ranking aristocrat wouldn’t deal with a venture company.

“Yeah, yeah, my papa is awesome!”

So Mii-chan is happy to hear the praise.

“He’s so deft as if he had prepared in advance to be the head of the family. He’s famous as a magician who can’t use magic. My father would like to get to know him, too, but unfortunately, he doesn’t seem to show his face at social gatherings, which he regrets.”

Shin speaks his lines as if he were standing on a plank of wood, and he speaks with ease. He was this type, wasn’t he? The brilliant type with a strong sense of justice. How could he say such a line when he is only 10 years old? There’s no script, is there? There’s a hint of sarcasm in there.

“That sounds rude, but are you asking me to throw the glove in a roundabout way?”

Yamiyo cautions me with a swarthy light in her dark eyes before Mii-chan.

“No, I want to get to know you. I’m sorry.”

Shin bows his head. He looks feeble, but I know it’s just a facade. His eyes, which he’s trying not to see with his head down, are narrowed dangerously. That’s the kind of attitude he had toward a teacher who was hostile to him at school.

Funny, huh? Was Shin like this? I’m sure he didn’t speak to someone he wasn’t even hostile to in a pointless way. This kind of condescending talk is more like, I forgot my dad’s brother’s name. Wait, this is before the original story starts. I’m a little concerned.

Shin, Yamiyo, and the others are in an awkward mood. For some reason, Tamamo and the others are also revealing their hostility. Why is that? Because they are a mob, hostility toward the regulars?

The air was heavy, but it was an unexpected person who broke the atmosphere.

“Ne-ne, onee-chan, can you use ricovery magic?”

A little girl tugged at Miu’s hem. Who is this girl? She was about 5 years old. She wears a slightly grassy one-piece dress with a flower pattern and a bear pochette slung over her shoulder.

“Hmmm, I don’t know. Why?”

I asked with a smile as I bent down and looked at the little girl, and she pointed her tiny finger at the waiting room.

“I want you to heal my papa’s injury! He’s hurt.”

The little girl points to the waiting room in front of the Adventurer’s Insurance application window. An old man with a bandage hanging from his arm was panicking. He must be the little girl’s father. I guess he was just gone when the child noticed him.

Hmmm, come to think of it. There are many injured people. Are they people who were injured in the dungeon attack?

“Can you heal him?”

The little girl asks me with an expectant look. People around me say that Miu is a recovery magician, so she came to check. She’s a little girl, so she doesn’t know what to be afraid of.

Well, Miu’s answer is obvious.

“Yeah, leave it to me!”

Miu’s hair goes from black to silvery gray as she removes the [Disguise] ring. Her black eyes change to ice blue eyes that are more luminous than sapphires.

“Leave it to onee-chan!”

I shout, raising my hand as I strike a gut punch.

“Takano Miu, I will dance!”

Miu begins to dance with a call that sounds like the chirping of a small bird.
