Jing Chen’s hand paused and he stood up to look at Su Jing.

Su Jing pointed at the makeup artist at the side and said, “Leave it to her. It’s more suitable.”

Jing Chen sized up the makeup artist for a while and hesitated. In the end, he did not give her the clothes. “No need. I want to change it for Wan wan myself.”

Hearing this, Su Jing wanted to stop him again, but that would only arouse Jing Chen’s suspicion. He glanced at the corpse and sighed. “Alright, Mr. Jing. I hope you won’t despise her because of this.”

He also hoped that his disguise would not be seen through by Jing Chen.

“How can that be?” Jing Chen looked at Su Jing. “Wan wan gave birth to my child for me, but she never came back from the brink of death. If I have a grudge because of a scar, I’m not human.”

Su Jing didn’t say anything else and let Jing Chen change Su Wan’s clothes.

In the cubicle, Jing Chen gently picked Su Wan up and helped her change her clothes. His movements were gentle. When he saw the scar on her stomach, he was stunned for a moment before he gently brushed it with his finger.

“Wan wan, if I had known that you would suffer so much, we wouldn’t have had a child. Now, there’s really no need to have another child.”

Jing Chen was afraid of touching Su Wan’s wound, so he tried his best to avoid it.

The red dress reached her knees and the scar in the middle of her right leg was obvious. Jing Chen glanced at it when he was adjusting the hem of her dress.

After changing, Jing Chen pushed Su Wan out and watched in a daze.

If fairy tales really existed in this world, would Su Wan wake up if he kissed her?

Unfortunately, there was no if.

The current Su Wan was no longer breathing.

“My condolences, sir.”

With that, the makeup artist left with the others, leaving only Jing Chen and Su Jing inside.

“The people from the funeral home are waiting outside. We should go.”

Seeing that Jing Chen was fine, Su Jing heaved a sigh of relief and reminded him.

“I understand,” Jing Chen replied in a low voice. “Give me another ten minutes. I want to see her again. I’ll send her out in ten minutes.”

Jing Chen’s gaze was fixed on Su Wan. After all, it wouldn’t be long before Su Wan couldn’t be touched anymore and only existed in a photo.

But ten minutes was really too short. He really could not bear to part with her.

Su Jing looked at him meaningfully and did not refuse. “Okay, I’ll wait for you outside.”

In the end, Jing Chen was the only one left in the room, guarding Su Wan’s bed.

Jing Chen held Su Wan’s hand gently and muttered, “Wan wan, I know you’re afraid of the dark, but you don’t have to worry. I’ll light up all the lights for you. I guarantee that your way out will be bright.”

“Wan wan, you must wait for me in the other world. Raise our baby well. Wait for me…”

“But Wan wan, I’m so afraid that you’ll forget me when you go to another place. I’m afraid that you’ll never remember me again… I’m begging you, don’t forget me, okay?”

As Jing Chen spoke, tears fell one by one onto the back of Su Wan’s hand. It was cold.

Jing Chen gently tucked Su Wan’s hair behind her head with his other hand. He stared at Su Wan without taking his eyes off her, as if he wanted to engrave every inch of her in his mind.

This farewell meant that they would be separated forever. He hoped that in the future, he would not have to rely on photos. As long as he thought of Su Wan, her appearance would appear in his mind.

Ten minutes passed quickly.

Su Jing glanced at his phone and was about to knock when the door opened from the inside.

Jing Chen was very punctual this time.

Soon, Su Wan was sent to the funeral parlor and entered the coffin.

White wreaths were placed around the coffin, layer after layer, surrounding it.

According to the funeral parlor’s rules, the coffin would be buried after three days at most, but seven days and seven nights passed. Jing Chen insisted on guarding Su Wan’s coffin and not going anywhere, nor did he let the funeral parlor staff bury her.

The frustration and waiting for seven days and seven nights made Jing Chen look extremely bad. His beard had grown a lot but he did not tidy it up. His eyes were lifeless.
