A Conversation Between a Cheated-On Boyfriend and Cheated-On Girlfriend (Part 2)
《The Story So Far》
Karen Mitsumoto, the girlfriend of college sophomore Yuu Isshiki, was cheating on him with her senior, Tetsuya Kamokura. When Yuu finds out about it, he asks Touko Sakurajima, Kamokura’s girlfriend, “Please have an affair with me!”
Touko-senpai quietly sipped her coffee.
Every gesture, every mannerism of hers comprised a picture.
Eventually, she put down her coffee and gave her solemn response—
“I’m sorry. I understand how you feel, but I can’t do that.”
“You mean that you don’t want me to be the partner you cheat with?”
Well, I guess that’s natural.
I’d be more than happy to have Touko-senpai as my partner. But even so, she, and only herself, had the right to choose hers.
No matter who one asked, Touko-senpai and I couldn’t hang together.
Yet, I still felt slightly frustrated and disappointed when she gave her response.
…Am I really that inferior to Kamokura?…
…My girlfriend cucked me for him, but even after finding out about it, Touko-senpai still wouldn’t allow anyone else to touch her…
Being compared to Kamokura, I felt miserable.
“That’s not the reason. There are three reasons as to why I rejected your request,” began Touko-senpai slowly, as if she were still trying to piece her thoughts together.
“The first—We haven’t been able to fully confirm if Tetsuya really had an affair with Karen.”
“But there’s no doubt about it. I have the images of the messages they exchanged here.”
“Yes, I trust those. But there is also the possibility that it was forged. There was a guy who once told me that Kamokura was two-timing other women in order to get me and Tetsuya to break up.”
“I would never do such a thing!”
“I don’t think you’re the kind of person who would do that either, but it’s possible that you’re being deceived yourself. What if this image is a prank by Karen?”
I fell silent.
“The second—If you and I have an affair now, we’ll no longer be able to blame them.”
“To blame them?” I asked back.
“Yes. I don’t know what you plan to do with Karen-san after this, but I’m going to break up with Tetsuya if the affair is true. I won’t comply with your request so that he can’t say, ‘You had an affair too, didn’t you?’ or something along those lines. I have to keep myself clean!”
I see, that’s her logic. As expected of her rationality.
But…
“Doesn’t it annoy you, Touko-senpai? Don’t you feel frustrated that you’re being cheated on all the time and all you’re doing is simply breaking up? Don’t you want to get payback?”
“That brings me to my third reason.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean that I won’t let him get away with ordinary payback. I’ll make him regret everything… regret it to death. When he breaks up with me, he’ll go out with Karen. However, I’ll find a way to make him regret and despair.”
I felt as if blue flames of a poltergeist fire were emitting from Touko-senpai’s eyes.
Even I, as the innocent victim, felt a tremendous pressure from her aura. It sent shivers down my spine.
I swallowed my saliva.
“What exactly do you plan on doing?”
“Well…”
She crossed her arms, put her fist on her chin, seeming to be in deep thought.
“First, I’ll make him fall in love with me. Even more so than now, so that they are fully dependent on me.”
“And then…?”
“When he can’t stay away from me, I’ll shake him back to reality. If we’re going to have an affair, for example, that’s the time to do it. We’d have to announce in front of them that we’re going to spend the night together. There’s nothing they can do to stop it. After all, they are the one who first had the affair. And then, you say your goodbyes legitimately and walk away with the other person in peace. Couldn’t be more humiliating for them, right?”
When I first heard this, my first reaction was, “Scary!”
True, if the woman I loved the most said to me, “I’m leaving you right now, and I’m going to spend the night with this guy,” I would be so shocked that my whole world would collapse right before my eyes.
And if it was my own fault, there was nothing I could do.
The only thing one could do was to cling to the person miserably and beg for forgiveness.
There would be no better revenge than this.
“So, you’ll be with me then?”
I couldn’t help but say something stupid like that.
But Touko-senpai looked down at me with cold eyes.
“That still remains to be seen. I don’t want to sell myself short and be the kind of girl who cheats just to ‘get payback’ against her supposedly-cheating boyfriend.”
As expected of Touko-senpai. Cool, calm, and collected.
Well, I guess she’s right.
Considering Touko-senpai’s pride and social standing, it was only natural.
Even still, there was a touch of disappointment in my heart.
But Touko-senpai then said in a voice mixed with a bit of tenderness.
“But right now, it can be said that you and I are both in the same difficult situation. Let’s work together to make our cheating partner regret everything. If, at the end of our meeting today, you’ve resolved and improved your mindset enough to be my accomplice, then I’ll consider it,” said Touko-senpai, with a hint of tenderness in her voice.
The end of our meeting today…
Once they become too dependent and attached to you—that’s the time to announce the affair.
That’s the time.
I imagined that moment.
Kamokura wails as he tries to cling to Touko-senpai.
But she shakes him off, erasing any trace of the feelings they once had for each other.
…All with me, yes me, standing next to her!
That would be amazing.
It would be the best possible payback.
What more could I possibly do to get payback against that cool-acting Kamokura?
And I’m gonna show that vixen Karen that I, yes I, will be with a woman light years ahead of Karen. Right. In. Front. Of. Her.
“I want to get that payback! Please, let me become your accomplice!”
This was how Touko-senpai and I created our joint effort for our goal: make our partners who cheated on us repent, despair, and regret!
