As soon as they arrived at the Qiao residence, Qiao Yue followed Qiao Jing to the study. She didn’t want to, but the look in Qiao Jing’s eyes told her to follow him.
After closing the door to the study, Qiao Jing sat on the sofa, took off his glasses and pinched the bridge of his nose.
Qiao Yue wanted to massage Qiao Jing’s temples like last time, but she was stopped by Qiao Jing’s gaze.
“It wasn’t convenient to say too much in the car just now. Shouldn’t you tell me now what you were up to last night?” Qiao Jing looked at Qiao Yue sharply.
Qiao Yue was taken aback by Qiao Jing’s stare, and she frowned.
She felt close to Qiao Jing because he gave her the feeling of family, but she was not that close to him. Wasn’t he being too controlling by questioning her like this?

Qiao Jing’s expression turned colder. “Qiao Yue, I won’t ask you too much about your past, but since you’ve joined the Qiao family, you’re a part of us. I’m responsible for your safety.”
Qiao Jing’s eyes fell on Qiao Yue’s bandaged neck as he said this.
Qiao Yue felt strange in her heart when she heard Qiao Jing’s words. It made her feel very uncomfortable.
“I’ll be responsible for my own safety. There are some things that I hope you won’t ask too much about. The Qiao family has not accepted me yet, so I’m not a part of the family yet.”
Qiao Jing’s face was frosty. This was the first time someone defied him in his face.
“Qiao Yue!” Qiao Jing’s voice suddenly rose two pitches.
