The small space between the moat and the wall, was not only an architectural wonder but also a tactical masterpiece. The space, constructed entirely out of stones, was just large enough for a person to stand in, but it was not meant to be a comfortable spot. The walls were adorned with small holes at chest height, strategically placed to protect the city from invaders. During an attack, if the enemy dared to cross the moat, my minions would rain spears upon them through these small holes, effectively neutralizing any threat.

As I entered my city through the first gate, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride wash over me. My city had become impenetrable, a fortress that could withstand any onslaught. The barracks by the gate side were a sight to behold, grand and imposing, they served as a reminder of the strength of my army. Behind the barracks, the weapon storage facility housed all kinds of weapons for the soldiers, everything from swords to bows and arrows, ready to be used in case of an attack.

As I walked further into the city, I came across the land that had been prepared for farming. My miner minions had ploughed it, and it was ready for planting. The people coming to the city were responsible for the farming, and I provided all the necessary resources for them to grow crops and feed the city. I was determined to ensure that my people never went hungry.

The residential area was a sight to behold. Small houses with winding streets gave the city a quaint and charming feel. The houses were constructed out of stones and had wooden roofs, simple yet sturdy. I had initially thought of housing all the new residents within the wall, but I had changed my mind. I asked the intelligence variant to fetch the minion manager and asked him about the houses inside. He informed me that we had capacity for 1550 people. I instructed him to adjust these people inside, allotting them houses and those who remained should be provided houses near the back door.

As I walked towards the back of the city, I came across a grandiose barrack, built to house a huge number of soldiers. It was bigger than the ones on the front and I had decided to call it the headquarters. The road between the farming land was a nice touch, and I could already imagine how lovely it would look once the crops grew. Lamps were placed in every road, providing light even during the night, making the city look even more beautiful.

After inspecting everything, I went inside my house. Although the battle had taken its toll, with five archer and five swordsmen minions dying and several injured, I knew that the city was secure and that my people were safe. The injured minions were taken to the barracks where they would heal by the next day, ready to defend the city once more. I was happy with the construction of the city, and I knew that my city would prosper and thrive under my rule.

I asked for lunch and after having lunch, I went to sleep. I had been awake all night, and my head was pounding with a headache. As I lay in bed, the Minion Manager came and knocked on the door. I allowed him to enter, and he presented me with the daily report. I checked the numbers, and it seemed that 10 of my minions had died during the last battle.

Despite the loss, we had managed to bring back a huge number of resources, and my gold reserves were growing steadily. I had amassed enough wealth to buy anything in this world, but I was feeling tired, and didn't want to do anything. I also knew that Chloe was upset with me, but I didn't have the energy to go and apologize to her.

So, I asked for dinner and after dinner, I went to sleep again. I woke up the next day and came out of my chambers. The city was bustling with noise, as people went about their business. However, there were a few individuals who were trying to come to me, but my minions were not allowing them. I called the Minion Manager and asked him about the situation, he told me that the people wanted to talk to me.

I allowed them to come, and they came in a group. People from all the villages and cities had come together to form this group. The head of the weapon makers spoke, "My lord, we have come to ask you to provide a place for a market. We have increased in numbers and everyone has gold, and people want to buy new things. So, we were thinking if you could make a market for us, so we can start our businesses and earn money from it."

I asked, "What will you sell?"

"My lord, those of us who grow wheat, will sell wheat. Those who make weapons, will make weapons and those who make clothes will sell them."

I replied, "No, you will not sell them. You are not people of any regular city. You are my people, and my people will not sell things to each other. You will grow wheat and put it in the combined storage facility. Each and everyone can take as much wheat as they want from there. I have my minions, if the amount of wheat goes down, they will grow more. The cloth makers will make them and they will be added to the combined storage. Anyone who wants a piece of cloth will be given the required amount. The weapon makers will make weapons, but they will only make them for my army. Invent and you will be rewarded."

The head of the weapon makers interrupted, "But sire..."

I interrupted, "I am not finished yet."

"Sorry, my lord."

"Each household will be given a piece of gold every 15 days. You cannot earn that much gold by selling stuff, right? You can go to any city and do business with them. Purchase things you want, but no market will be opened here in my city. The people who permanently live here will be provided that amount of gold promised."

I could see the disappointment in the eyes of the group. But, I knew that this was the best way to ensure that the people were taken care of, and that they would not have to rely on selling their goods to survive. I also knew that this would encourage innovation and invention, as they would be rewarded for coming up with new ideas and technologies.

In conclusion, I stood firm in my decision, as it was for the betterment of my people and my kingdom. I knew that it would be difficult for them to understand and accept in the beginning, but in the long run, it would be for their benefit.
