Jing Yichen’s head hurt because of their argument. He interrupted them in a cold tone. “Shut up! One more word and I will toss you both into the sea.”
The two noisy people stopped all of a sudden and stood there obediently.
The world got quiet again and Jing Yichen said calmly, “It is grandmother’s 78th birthday, go and visit her today with Mu Qing.”
Zhao Anan hopped as if her tail had been stomped upon. “What? Grandmother’s birthday? What date is it today?”
She asked as she started to rummage through her bag for her phone. She checked the calendar and then screamed. “Oh my god! It is the 28th today! Grandmother will definitely blame me for forgetting her birthday. Let’s go and visit her, now.”
Mu Qing nodded happily. “Okay, okay, let’s go and visit her. I drive fast and we will be there in no time. Don’t worry.”
Zhao Anan smiled and said, “Hang on, Director, it is my grandmother’s birthday, not yours! You are a busy director who is in charge of the development of a great hospital. So, you better get out of here and head back to your hospital for your female patients. I will go with my cousin, so bye-bye!”
Mu Qing didn’t back off. He grabbed hold of Zhao Anan and pulled her into the car.
He smiled brighter than Zhao Anan and said, “Anan, don’t be so polite, your grandmother is mine too. Shouldn’t I go and visit her on her 78th birthday and offer my congratulations as well? I think that grandmother is definitely going to like me, because I am such a successful and handsome young man. Also, I have got some good things for her as a birthday present and you have no right to turn them down on behalf of your grandmother.”
Having said the words, he nodded to Jing Yichen and told him that he would be back in half an hour and drove off.
Seeing them gone, Jing Yichen drove into the compound. “Keep our wine hidden and no telling anybody about it, in case someone takes it away or drinks it up.”
Shangguan Ning shook her head and laughed. He was referring to Mu Qing, because he was the only one who knew about the value of this liquor.
“It is grandmother’s birthday today? You didn’t mention that before. I have not prepared any presents.” Shangguan Ning complained.
Jing Yichen had never given much thought to birthdays or festivals, probably because he had never celebrated anything for the past thirty years.

Shangguan Ning asked in an uncertain voice, “Is your birthday on January 1st? That is what your ID card says. I didn’t pay much attention earlier and didn’t end up giving you any birthday present.”
It was such a unique date!
But it seemed that January 1st of this year was in the month before Chinese New Year, when they had just got married. At that time, Shangguan Ning had no idea when his birthday was, so she had prepared nothing.
But Jing Yichen shook his head unexpectedly. A smile hovered over his face, making him look handsome.
“No, my birthday is not on January 1st, it is just a date on the ID cover. But you are wrong to assume that you have given me no birthday present. You have and it is the most extraordinary and beloved one.”
