He was here to discuss a collaboration with Liyu Science & Technology. But he had never expected that he would run into Shangguan Ning here.
He knew that Shangguan Ning was the boss of Liyu Science & Technology. He had initially thought that Shangguan Ning had taken away Liyu Science & Technology from Yang Wenshu and Shangguan Rouxue, but it turned out that this originally belonged to her own mother and had instead been taken away from her by Shangguan Zheng and Shangguan Xing.
But that didn’t affect Xie Zhuojun much. He needed to procure the order no matter who was in charge of Liyu Science & Technology, at the moment.
He was here because the director of purchase of Liyu Science & Technology happened to be his university classmate. They had been good friends.
Xie Zhuojun had heard that Liyu Science & Technology was going to purchase large numbers of fine textiles as New Year’s presents to the staff, so he gave his old classmates a quotation.
His quotation was the lowest one among all the tenders.
If all went well, he should receive the order.
Textiles was Family Xie’s main business. Luo Rong, the director of purchase of Liyu Science & Technology, had already told Xie Zhuojun that they had more or less decided to accept Family Xie’s textiles.
Since the textiles were of good quality, each set would cost around 1,200 yuan. With 500 people in the company, that would be more than 600,000 in total.
That was a large purchase order, one that needed to be approved by Shangguan Ning.
Being Xie Zhuojun’s friend, Luo Rong knew a bit about the history between Xie Zhuojun, Shangguan Ning and Shangguan Rouxue.
He thought that Xie Zhuojun had been a bit too shallow in his conduct. The elder sister brought him back from the vegetative state but he turned to the younger sister, instead. It might sound like a cool thing for a man to get engaged with two sisters one after the other, but actually, it was ingratitude.
However, he also knew that Xie Zhuojun was in a terrible state, currently. Family Xie had a large amount of debt and the handsome master of Family Xie had now become a man with grey hair, one who looked ten years older than him.
There were enormous problems happening with Family Xie’s business. Their old clients, for some reason, refused to collaborate with Family Xie whilst the development with new clients had become troublesome as well. As a result, there were many goods that remained unsold in their establishment.
What was worse, Xie Zhuojun, for some reason, had got a very fragile son who had been born premature. Therefore, the child had to visit the hospital constantly and stayed in the ICU, many times.
Family Xie had spent so much money to keep the child alive.
His engagement to Family Min’s daughter was over as well and Xie Zhuojun was now a single man, rather a single father.
It was way too difficult for him to find a partner with a sickly child on his back. No one was willing to marry someone like him.
Xie Zhuojun had paid enough for what he did before. Though he looked terrible, he was much more mature and steadier than before.
Luo Rong was moved and wanted to give him a hand.
The textiles of Family Xie were quite a good choice in terms of quality and price, as well. He thought that if he concealed the source from Shangguan Ning while reporting, he might get the textile application approved.
He had worked with Shangguan Ning many times and knew that Shangguan Ning looked gentle and friendly, but was actually quite sharp and capable. It was not easy to fool her.
But Shangguan Ning had been busy recently and sometimes was gone for a long period of time. So he could probably get away with it.
However, Shangguan Ning showed up today and ran directly into Xie Zhuojun!

Having said the words, she stopped talking to Luo Rong and turned to Xie Zhuojun, instead. “What are you doing at my company, Mr. Xie? Are you here to accuse me of taking Liyu Science & Technology away from somebody?”
She spoke in a sharp way reminding him of the stupid things he had said before.
He gave a small cough and said awkwardly, “No. I misunderstood you earlier. I am here because I want to collaborate with you.”
Shangguan Ning felt that she had just heard the funniest joke.

“I have nothing to do with you. You can turn to somebody else. Our company is too small for you.”

“Can’t you separate private affairs from business? What happened between us should not interfere with our collaboration. I am here for a fair competition, and you must not bully me just because you are in an advantageous situation.”
