Title: My Son Might be a Villain
Translator: Fringe Capybara
Chapter 148 - Su Ran was just about to greet him when she heard Su Han's voice from behind her, "It's you?!" (2)

“Have you ever thought about your father? Your birth father, I mean?”

Su Han: Birth father? What? That man?

Recalling the self-righteous scum of a man that he met the other day, Su Han’s look worsened.

“No, never.”

He paused, then added, “Nor do I need one!”

If Su Han had just a little bit of resentment when they started talking about a father, then he definitely sounded a more hostile when the subject turned to his birth father. What was up with that?

“Ugh.” Su Ran hadn’t expected the overreaction coming from Su Han and was baffled all of a sudden.

Mr. Lu, my son said he doesn’t need you so you don’t need to show up anymore.

At that moment, that was the message that Su Ran really wanted to send to Lu Shao. Luckily, she was able to stop herself.

On the other end of the dinner table, Su Han, too, noticed that his mannerism was a bit stiff and rude and an apologetic look flashed passed him.

Su Ran would not have brought this up out of the blue. What if she had found someone else and wanted to get an idea of his opinion on it?

After all, why else would a single mother suddenly ask her child whether they’d want to have a father? Most likely there was already another man in her life. At least that was how it always was portrayed in those gossipy television shows.

As much as Su Han was unhappy about the thought of there being another man but it also didn’t seem like it was right for him to turn the man away in Su Ran’s place.

“I am not saying that it’s entirely unacceptable…” mumbled Su Han with his head lowered, providing that it was this woman’s own decision.

“Really?!” Su Ran had almost given up and was already trying to come up with what to say to Lu Shao when Su Han’s words made her beamed.

“All I am saying is that I’m not completely against it.” But he was, overall, against the idea.

“That’s good.” Su Ran smiled, then said, “Then, what if he’s an all-round nice guy, like, mature, stable, professional. Also, kind and altruistic when he sees others in need. I’d say he’s also humble and polite. He seems to be rich but not the stuck-up kind of rich people. He might seem like a bore but he’s gentle, reasonable, patient…”

Su Ran tried to recall her impression of Lu Shao from their few encounters in the past.

“Can you accept someone like that?” asked Su Ran as she looked at Su Han.

Truth be told, Mr. Lu didn’t seem like a bad guy and Su Han would be able to have him as a father. That didn’t seem like a bad idea at all.

As for Su Han, after listening to everything that Su Ran had to say, he let out a sigh of relief.

From what Su Ran was saying, the man whom she was describing could not possibly be Lu, the scum.

He felt much better knowing that it wasn’t that scum.

Nevertheless, could the man really be as good as Su Ran had described?

Su Han frowned and had his doubts.

“If he’s truly how you’ve described him…” And you liked him that much.

As though he had been through great loss and made a big compromise, Su Han pursed his lips and finally looked up, gave Su Ran a very serious look, and said to her, “Then I will be okay with that.”

“BUT,” His tune changed as he added, “I must check him out first.”

This woman has historically had bad taste in men. Su Han felt that it was his duty to help her screen the man first.

If the man was half-way decent, then they’d make do. If he was a scum who was just toying with her heart, then he would…

A cold beam flashed through Su Han’s eyes.

Su Ran did not notice the look on Su Han. She felt emotional that her son had agreed to first meet up with his father. She felt that they had already taken a big step forward in the right direction.
