Then, this scourge entered high school. His mental state began to return to normal.

But this person had never been ordinary.

His highschool was the kind to restrict every type of electronics. Yet, he once became known throughout the school from sneaking to the empty fifth floor of the dormitory to play games with a group of friends. If it wasn’t because the delivery guy who sent their midnight snack had ran into their teacher on patrol, then no one would have found out about this great achievement of Han Shi Yu.

Han Shi Yu’s flowery heart had already blossomed then. He liked to act spoiled with his teachers or sneak up to the rooftop during evening break and enjoy the breeze.

The door here wasn’t open to students, but the ones who were always going up against the school will always find a way around it.

One time, Han Shi Yu saw two boys kissing on the empty rooftop.

He froze in place for the longest time. He knew the two of them, they had a really close relationship and often went everywhere together.

He saw them kissing very seriously and passionately, then ten slender, long fingers grabbed onto the back of the other’s uniform, so tightly that it wrinkled. It went up all the way to his neck.

Han Shi Yu didn’t make a single sound as he silently backed out of there. He even closed the door gently.

He thought about it the entire night.

How were there men who would kiss another man.

The next day, when he saw the same two friends again, everything were like the usual. They were talking and laughing with their classmates like nothing was wrong.

A subtle emotion grew in Han Shi Yu’s heart as he chewed on that image over and over again in his mind.

He imagined that the person who had his back clung to, was himself. And as he faced the other person with the same physical strength as himself, what he had to do to overcome the psychological barrier within him to hold their waist.

Han Shi Yu felt like he couldn’t do it.

For the first time, this guy thought he wasn’t able to do something.

In high school, he was still a star figure sought after by many. If a girl handed him a love letter at this time, he would only smile and say, “Thanks, but I’m already someone else’s.”

Although this ‘someone’ wasn’t actually real.

Other people’s high school lives were fiery and passionate. But Han Shi Yu’s was quiet and uneventful. He was born a smart guy, plus he had read too many books in the past including sciences, humanities and social sciences as well. Therefore, he had double the knowledge than his peers, hence having a deeper sense of understanding and perception.

He did not have the pressure that other people had either. Han Lang never imposed too man excessive expectation son him so he didn’t care that much about his own grades.

Time passed by really quickly for him since he had no obligations to tend to.

At the end of his college entrance exams, he was accepted into Shou Cheng University.

As he pulled along his suitcase to this university, he would never have expected he would meet such a person in a few months’ time—

He recalled the times when he played the ‘nice guy’ card with the girls who had tried courting him in both junior and high school. Then, he seriously thought back on that line— “I want to learn everything about you. I kept weighing my luck, calculating them even, but I just couldn’t figure it out even a little.”

Han Shi Yu did not believe in love at first sight. He thought those were more like lust at first sight over his looks.

He didn’t even notice it at first.

When Han Shi Yu’s five accounts were hacked in one go, he furiously rushed to the school of mathematics and statistics to look for someone named Yang Mo.

He was a sociable person and his social network circle was widely spread out since day one.

It took quite some effort and various networking to find out that the one who hacked his accounts was a Shou Cheng University student.

He suppressed his anger while asking a senior he was acquainted with.

“Yang Mo…” The senior tilted his head and thought for a while. “Let me think…”

The senior chatted about this person while picking a drink from the vending machine.

While listening to him, Han Shi Yu glanced to the side for a bit. But it was in that one glance that his eyes unexpected landed on a stranger in the bustling crowd at the cafeteria.

His movements froze.

The senior was scanning the QR code to pay as he said, “I remember he had been transferred to the Seastone Apartment already. Furthermore, this person…”

But Han Shi Yu wasn’t listening anymore.

He stared at that tall guy with sharp features who was glancing around looking for something. He wore a plan white t-shirt, and like a gust of wind, emitted a soft and refreshing aura.

Han Shi Yu blinked. And the first thing that came to mind was: that celestial god is really good-looking.

“I advise you not to mess with him. If there’s anything going on, just talk to the teachers…” The senior bent down to pick up his drink, “He’s difficult to talk to…”

The guy in Han Shi Yu’s sight found his target in the crowd.

He walked over expressionlessly, and then there was a scream that could be heard. Although it wasn’t very noticeable in that noisy environment.

Without another word, he tugged on the back of the neck of a foreigner-looking, blonde-haired man and dragged him out of the door.

“Ahhh, my roommate, I didn’t mean to do it. I know my own faults now…I…”

Seeing this scene, Han Shi Yu covered his mouth with his hand and let out a snort.

“What are you looking at?” The senior turned around with his can of Coke and caught Han Shi Yu giggling like an idiot, so he followed his gaze.

The senior raised an eyebrow. “Isn’t that Yang Mo?” He turned back towards Han Shi Yu, “Didn’t you say you wanted to pick a fight with him? Go ahead then.”

“……” Han Shi Yu slowly turned around.

He stared at his senior.

""

Han Shi Yu: “.”

Han Shi Yu felt like a gentleman should only act with his words, not his hands.

That day, he went to an off-campus supermarket and searched for a very long time, picking out the best quality megaphone.

He was even feeling a little nervous when he walked to the round table at the center of Seastone Apartment.

Han Shi Yu let out a deep breath, basking in the curious gazes of the public before he stepped onto that round platform.

He tapped on the megaphone.

He could hear the curious chattering of the crowd around him.

Then, Han Shi Yu’s lips curved up into a faint, almost undetectable smile.

It was as if someone had travelled through time and space to tell him that, whatever he was going to say next, would be the proudest start of his life—

“On the fourth floor, student Yang Mo, I know you’re up there.”

T/N: This is a side chapter sort-of, focusing on Han Shi Yu’s childhood/life before he met Yang Mo. Next chapter will be the same except it’s Yang Mo’s turn! Honestly really enjoyed translating them because it gives such a good insight to the person they were before. And how much more it means for them to have found each other :’)
