Chapter 119: Your Girlfriend

"He wouldn't take it even if I want to," Sophia responded to him with a feeble smile.
Rio turned to look at the black-haired boy, not understanding why would he refuse such an offer.
'I didn't think he would have such a good character. Better than the many boys I have met before.'
He started seeing the blabbering boy in a new light hearing his response.
"It's a man's pride, Brother. I can't take advantage of her family background otherwise people will say I love her because of her wealth.
I want to become stronger on my own." Lucas said while patting his chest proudly, announcing to the world his true manliness glory.
"In a relationship, there isn't such thing. She may have her family behind her but she also has her own wealth and beast souls that she had earned herself.
If you're following this path, then tomorrow she can also refuse something good you offered her." Rio said in a serious tone as he didn't have the same opinion as him.
This was something that Layla taught him when he rented his apartment. She bought something for Rio with her money and the boy refused for similar reasons as Lucas.
This caused her to give him a long lecture that put some sense into him.
"Don't say that Brother. She shouldn't do the same." Lucas said with a bitter tone as he didn't think about it this way.
"Rio is right. I'm not completely dependent on my family. There are beast souls and money I have earned on my own. If you refuse to take them I should also do the same in the future." Sophia said in a nonchalant voice, agreeing with the crimson-haired boy's logic.
"Ahhh...Brother what did you do...." Lucas cried out in dejection.
"You should just accept her affectionate-filled gift. The man surely has their pride but even the lion has to bow down to their lioness being a king of the jungle." Rio spoke in a composed manner.
"Okay...okay...you guys won..." Lucas said in a defeated tone and surrendered.
He continued, "This brother of mine turned my gentle girl against me. It's not been a day since I met you and see what you've done."
Lucas's words were filled with sarcasm and let Sophia transfer him his first beast soul of the purple stage.
She gave him normal Armor and a weapon beast soul.
After they were done transferring, Sophia looked at the due and said, "I'm going to the mountains with a friend to hunt some beast. Do you guys wanna come along or rest for a while since you've traveled from the yellow tower of the outcast?"
"I'll join as I'm always ready if guys aren't afraid of my monster magnet effect," Lucas said in an energetic manner and showed his agreement right away.
"I prefer to work alone so I hope you guys can excuse me," Rio said in a relaxed tone and refused her offer.
"You should join us. Your girlfriend is the one with whom I'm going to the mountains. Her strength is at the peak of the purple stage. She will be here soon." Sophia spoke to Rio and told him about the friend she mentioned earlier.
Lucas looked at Rio with a surprised look and remembered how he was giving him suggestions to try on Sophia's sister.
"Brother? You have a girlfriend and you didn't even tell me." He said in a tone that sounded as if he was betrayed.
'This guy is fascinating. He is talking as if we know each other for decades.'
Rio couldn't understand his easygoing personality.
"Which girlfriend are you talking about?" The crimson-haired boy asked with puzzlement.
This sentence caused the blabbering boy to misinterpret his words and look at him with his mouth agape.
"Ah...you have more than one girlfriend?" Lucas gave him an astonished gaze.
"You will find out soon, she should be here," Sophia answered Rio's question.
As she finished her sentence, the door of the room beside Rio's claimed one opened and a figure walked out of it.
A lively expression was shining on her Adorable doll-like face. Her blue bouffant dress was making her look elegant as always.
"Hey, Rio...it's been a while. I don't even see you on the school's campus" Magenta haired girl greeted him with a delighted voice.
"Weren't you at a different shelter?" Rio asked with a questioning gaze.
"Yeah I was but how do you know?" Nyla asked him in a whisper, coming closer to him so others don't hear her.
She continued in a hushed voice, "Does my Rio stalk on me."
"What are they talking about so secretly," Lucas asked in a puzzled tone to Sophia.
"Why do you wanna know lovers' secret conversations?" Sophia asked him.
Lucas just shrugged to respond to her.
Rio didn't answer Nyla's question and turned to look at Sophia.
"So will you be coming with us?" The pink-haired girl asked as she saw him looking at her.
"If he doesn't wanna join then I'll just follow him alone" Nyla responded on his behalf as she had heard their conversation a little earlier.
'I didn't think she would come to this far shelter for me even after I intentionally hurt her that day. I fear I'll make her even more upset if she comes alone with me. So it's better I join their group so she doesn't get to be closer to me.'
"I'll come with you guys," Rio said, hearing Nyla would follow him if he choose to go solo.
"Okay, then we should go now," Sophia said and started walking downstairs to leave the purple tower of the outcast.
Lucas followed behind her while Nyla walked along with Rio, not leaving the chance to accompany the person she cherished the most in her heart.
