Since he was a small child that his mother had always been afraid of their mothers, the other consorts of his father, the Duke of Riverside City, and the son of the Emperor, who had fallen ill.
Not even his father was someone he could remember, always distant and cold, he was taught to never show emotions, and became an emotionless father that never showed any sort of love or closeness to his children, a man uninterested in what they did, if they suffered or not, he never cared for anything of the sort.
His sibling Hectarious was particularly wicked. Since he was a year old that Arthurious was a curious little boy, he once wandered outside of his room outside, only to be intimidated by the Black Wyvern that Hectarious had in that time, although it wasn't as big as before, it was almost a meter and a half big, big enough to eat a child with a single bite.
The little Arthurious was scared out of his life, crying while Hectarious provoked him by making his monster pet chase him down and groan at him… He still remembers, even as a teenager, that terrible trauma. Perhaps this was a reason why he grew so shy and weak-minded.
However!
That had to change now.
"I will surpass my brother and also this trauma…" Through Arthurious to himself. "I won't allow him to bully me or Blackie any longer!"
With hat on mind, the fight began! Two beasts against one another. There were no more beasts, the two princes only brought a single beast, the one they had been nurturing since childhood. These were called Premium Bond Beasts, beasts that were hatched from Premium-Grade Monster Eggs and came with incredible talents and Skills from the get-go, alongside possessing powerful and ancient bloodlines.
The princes were told to nourish this beast since they were children, feed them the best items and enhance their powers as much as possible. The competition was fair, only one beast per person, and this was followed up until now. But was there any disadvantage with them compared to other people with many beasts?
Well, no. In fact, their beasts were so inherently powerful that they could defeat many common beasts and trainers, even entire teams. The more a person dedicated their bond to a single monster, the stronger the monster grew compared to dedicating a bond to many. Their entire souls were dedicated to this single monster, so it naturally grew stronger quicker and developed quicker, all while being given premium items, the monster being amazing and talented from the very beginning, and also the princes having amazing control over mana and talent with beast taming all helped and built up together admirably powerful monsters capable of defeating many.
Blackie and Hectarious monster, the giant Black Shadow Wyvern quickly clashed against one another! Blackie coated himself in black lightning, unleashing a thunderous shockwave to his surroundings all while the Black Shadow Wyvern unleashed his breath attack, as blazing red flames reached Blackie!
FLUOOOSSSSHHH!
However, Blackie continued boldly moving forward, raising his head, and enhancing the power of his black horns, unleashing his enormous charging power, and clashing against the burning flames like nothing!
BOOOM!!!
"Hahaha! Fool! You should had never charge directly against my Wyvern, you're- Eh?"
FLAAASH!
From within the flames, Blackie's figure emerged, covered in darkness, and using this darkness to protect himself! Hectarious was left speechless as he looked into the scene. However, that wasn't all! Blackie's horns began to become overcharged with the power of thunder! Black Lightning quickly began to charge Blackie's horns, as they unleashed a tremendous thunderous attack against the wyvern in front of him!
TRUUUUUMMM…!
An enormous cannon beam of black lightning hit the wyvern directly, making its entire body suffer from the powerful electrocuting damage, the wyvern who was in the skies some time before suddenly fell into the ground, clashing over the hard floor!
"GRYYYAAAHHH…!"
BOOOM!!!
"W-What?!" Asked Hectarious in shock.
"I suppose Flying-type monsters are still weak to Black Lightning, the same as Lightning…" Said Arthurious with surprise, left on disbelief over the strength of Blackie.
"W-Wake up!!!" Roared Hectarious, forcing his wyvern that was in the floor to move as he kicked the beast while infusing mana roughly into it.
"Grooar…! Roar!" Cried the wyvern painfully, but without attacking or barking back to his master, as if he were accustomed to being hit and mistreated by his master. Arthurious felt disgusted, how could he hit his own monster pet? He had never hit Blackie and had only taught him with love and care… seeing the poor wyvern being treated like this made him grit his teeth in frustration.
"Why are you hitting your monster pet?!" Cried Arthurious. "Brother, I never thought you could go so low!"
"What?! This is mere correction! Heh, perhaps that's why your stupid goat is so conceited, you've never corrected him!" Roared Hectarious with a wicked and corrupt smile. "Now go you stupid lizard, fight and show him the power I've spent so much money into cultivating!!!"
Hectarious roared angrily as he infused overwhelming quantities of mana into his wyvern, who suddenly began to increase in size to almost double! It grew to almost 8 meters of size, and the entire body of the wyvern became more muscular, while his aura was of pure flames… blazing everything with a powerful fiery fire!
"GROOOOAAARRRR!" The wyvern suddenly entered into a berserk-like state product of being overwhelmed with enormous quantities of Mana… the way he used his monster pet was by abusing it!
"Y-You bastard…" Muttered Arthurious. "I won't let you win with such treatment to your monster!" Arthurious seemed decided to win. "Go, Blackie! Defeat him! Thunder Horn!"
