Chapter 134

This really wasn’t a bad idea. Although right now Ling Xuan’s cultivation was incomparable to four thousand years later, his innate fighting consciousness was still extremely strong. If he was brought along, he would not only not be a hindrance but might even be of great assistance.

The most important thing is that since it was impossible to get rid of him within a short span of time, it was better not to waste that time.

After all, this Fortune Pill was not very well condensed. Since it had been done by that lazy little fox who was not keen on cultivation.

After making up his mind, Chu MuYun looked at him: “I need to go somewhere. Come with me?”

Ling Xuan was visibly startled.

Chu MuYun said: “There is danger involved. If you come, just follow behind me and don’t mess around.”

Ling Xuan said, “What are you going to do?”

Chu MuYun: “Going to get something.”

Ling Xuan narrowed his eyes but still said swiftly and without hesitation, “Okay.”

Chu MuYun didn’t need to say any more and immediately set forth for the WanXiang Palace.

It only took about an hour to find the destination but the most troublesome part would be to walk into the formation without disturbing Xie QianLan.

Ling Xuan has been wandering the world for nearly a thousand years now. He naturally knew Xie QianLan’s name but he didn’t know that this palace hidden behind the mist was where he lived.

But he didn’t need to know who the owner of the palace was to tell that the owner was someone that was very strong and powerful enough to set up such an intricate array.

But… Chu MuYun was even stronger because he was able to break through this formation that seemed so complex that Ling Xuan couldn’t even make heads or tails of it.

Even without Chu MuYun’s instructions, Ling Xuan knew to follow closely behind him. He stepped on each of Chu MuYun’s steps with extreme precision. He didn’t make any mistakes or increase the difficulty for him because of the addition of an extra burden.

Just as Chu MuYun had predicted, it took a whole day to walk through the maze. It wasn’t until the illusion was eliminated that their eyes suddenly became clear.

Suddenly seeing this gorgeous and exquisite palace, Chu MuYun was in a daze.

Thousands of years passed like the blink of an eye. Here, time seemed to be frozen. It had been frozen from the day he left.

The dusty memories were only hidden in a sealed box. Although they had collected dust and were locked away, they were no more real. Once the lost key was discovered again, they would immediately emerge again with all the gorgeousness and splendor of yesteryear. Not even a little bit was rusted and everything would appear as vibrant as it ever was.

Chu MuYun lowered his eyes and whispered, “Let’s go.” Although he knew Xie QianLan very well, it was because of his understanding of him that it was actually quite difficult to guess where he would put something.

If you really want to hide something, cheating yourself is the most reliable method.

Xie QianLan had just such a personality, so even though Chu MuYun knew him well, he couldn’t analyze where the spirit guide grass was.

So they could only look around carefully. Chu MuYun screened a few more possible places and said to Ling Xuan, “Let’s split up.”

Ling Xuan already knew what Chu MuYun wanted and, although he hadn’t seen the spirit guide graas before, Chu MuYun showed him a picture and it was easy to distinguish.

Chu MuYun didn’t worry about him and given that the time was urgent, he went to look around first.

Walking around the palace, Chu MuYun looked everywhere. An inexplicably absurd feeling rose within him because his memories were too clear. The scenes around him were too familiar and, because nothing had changed, it gave rise to the absurd illusion that he’d never left.

Although he hadn’t lived here a long time, it had been a very comfortable period of his life. Every minute and every second was enough to make people recall it with strong aftertaste.

Chu MuYun smiled. He focused his thoughts and began to look around earnestly.

But Ling Xuan, who had separated from him, only walked into the first room before he froze on the spot.

This was not so much a room as it is a reflection of a person’s obsession. Spanning time and space and coalescing onto the tip of the pen: what was drawn was not a simple picture scroll but the image of a deep-seated longing and yearning.

It was difficult to walk inside. Just taking one step made him feel as though he were trampling upon that person’s most hidden heart.

Ling Xuan stopped and didn’t move. It was not until a gleam of light rose from the corner and spread across the entire room that he could see the blurry picture clearly.

In an instant, Ling Xuan’s pupils shrank sharply.

It was a picture of a man with a slender figure and beautiful features. His black hair was like silky satin, scattered across his smooth back, creating an enchanting color that evoked the imagination.

Countless paintings depicted this person. He was either smiling or looking down, sitting down, or fighting… There were countless expressions and endless postures, and each one was more lifelike than the one before it.

Ling Xuan finally came closer and, as he got closer, he was more and more certain that…

This person was Ling Mu. Even if there were some differences between the facial features, the perfectly drawn eyes still revealed the truth.

Ling Xuan frowned and looked at these scrolls carefully… Time kept moving forward, one hundred years, two hundred years, three hundred years… for a thousand years that person had been drawing these pictures.

That meant that Ling Mu had lived here a thousand years ago.

Ling Xuan’s whole body froze in place…

The array outside this palace was very powerful. There were few people in the world who could break through but Chu MuYun walked in quietly within just one day.

It’s not that he really broke through the maze with his own strength but instead because he was familiar with it, so familiar that he had imprinted everything into his mind.

Why? Because this was a place he had once lived.

—Ling Mu, who are you? What are you planning to do?

Ling Xuan stayed in this room for a long time until Chu MuYun contacted him with his spiritual sense.

“Let’s go.”

Ling Xuan suddenly returned to his senses. “You found it?”

“Yes.” Chu MuYun’s voice seemed a little anxious, “I’m at the front entrance, you come directly.”

Ling Xuan replied, “Okay.”

Was it because the owner of this palace was coming back?

You don’t want to meet your old lover, so you want to leave quickly?

Ling Xuan’s eyes narrowed and his thin lips tightened until they almost became a line.

In fact, Chu MuYun didn’t actually feel Xie QianLan’s presence but he was still cautious. He had placed some little tricks inside the maze and as soon as it had any disturbance, he would know at once.

Xie QianLan could remotely control this maze, relying on nothing more than his strength. As long as the flow of inherent strength was frozen, he would discover it in advance.

Chu MuYun had already obtained the spirit guide grass and, after realizing that Xie QianLan had become suspicious, naturally he did not want to stay any longer.

After all, no matter where Xie QianLan is now, he could come back in a flash.

If he didn’t want to meet, then he needed to leave now!

Chu MuYun’s preliminary preparations were indeed abundant, and with the addition of the Fortune Pill, he smoothly left the WanXiang Palace and at the moment he left, he briefly felt the presence of Xie QianLan.

It was still far away but approaching fast.

Chu MuYun left without hesitation.

When the man in red returned to the WanXiang Palace, the building was already empty.

Xie QianLan released his divine consciousness and it instantly enveloped the entire WanXiang Palace.

He felt the presence of two strangers and discovered what had gone missing.

One bunch of spirit guide grass. One portrait of Ah-Yun.

The spirit guide grass was not worth mentioning but the portrait…

Xie QianLan turned and went to the room. The moment the door opened, he knew that someone had been inside and stayed there for some time.

Who was it? Who could break through the array he had set up?

Suddenly, a thought clambered up from the depths of his heart.

Even though he had searched for a thousand years, he still couldn’t find Shen Yun’s soul. Was it because of the characteristics of the ice spirit beast or was it because… he hadn’t died at all?
