Chapter 488: Next target - Second batch of the demon army

An old man, who was in his simple robes rushed towards the exit of the cursed wilderness.
"Edmond? Blood rose?"
As he was running, he noticed a group of people in front of him and he instantly recognized them.
The old man was none other than the guild master of the mercenary guild. After the demon king Garreth left, he searched for the dimensional crevice for a while and didn't find the entrance.
So, he didn't waste any more time and hurriedly rushed towards the demon army.
However, he met Edmond and others.
"Guild master?"
Edmond and his group also stopped running when they saw the old man and except for Darbaudr everyone instantly became excited.
In that group, there were only four members. They were Edmond, Udo, Blood rose and Darbaudr.
"Why are you leaving the demon army and rushing towards the exit of the cursed wilderness?" That old man raised his brows as he asked them.
The reason he asked them was that behind then there was a huge demon army but they were running away from that army which made the guild master displeased.
Nevertheless, he didn't come to a conclusion and asked them.
"There is a first batch of the demon army that must have already reached the exit of the cursed wilderness," Edmond embarrassedly explained everything from beginning to end.
"Hmm"
The guild master nodded his head before saying, "Since Rulf and Ajax are already fighting the first batch of the demon army, let them fight. We will stop the second batch of the demon."
"But guild master, they need…..,"
"Let the first batch go to them. Anyway, other mercenaries will help them if they dragged the fight for enough time,"
Before Edmond could say anything, he was interrupted by the guild master.
After hearing that Edmond didn't say anything and nodded his head in agreement with his words.
"Let's kill these bastards," The old guild master let out a chuckle and said with an excited voice.
"Yes, guild master," Edmond, Udo and Blood rose shouted and went into the fight with the demons.
Finally, the guild master and Darbaudr were the only ones that were left behind, before the old man asked, "Are you part of Edmond's mission?"
"Huh?" Hearing the old man's words, Darbaudr didn't understand anything.
"So, that must be a no," The guild master shook his head and continued, "If he asks you to help him, will you help him?"
"If my young master asks me to do it, I will help him; otherwise, forget it," Darbaudr maintained some respect in his voice as he sensed some great power within the old man in front of him.
'His peak level strength must be higher than my peak strength. Does that mean, he is a king realm cultivator?' Darbaudr's thoughts wandered about the old man's strength.
Darbaudr's peak strength was peak elite general realm and only an inch away from king realm. So, he thought that the guild master was a king realm cultivator.

The guild master became silent before nodding his head.
"By the way, why are you not attacking?" Darbaudr asked the guild masters because he was the one who ordered them to attack the demons but he was not attacking.
"I can only fight for a few minutes with my full power. So, I am saving my strength for the powerful elite demon generals that you can't beat," The old man said with a bitter look on his face.
"Then I will start fighting," Darbaudr nodded his head and rushed to start his killings.
'I hope that no elite demon generals that can't be defeated by Edmond and others should never appear,' After Darbaudr entered the fight, the guild master sighed as he carefully observed the demon army for any powerful ones.

"Ajax, are you ready? My spirit consciousness is completely full,"
As Edmond and others were fighting the second batch of the demon army, Rulf opened his eyes and looking at Ajax, he asked about his spirit consciousness.
"My spirit consciousness is 60 percent full. Can we wait until the other mercenaries come here?" Ajax was still not ready as he wanted his spirit consciousness to be completely full. So, Ajax asked Rulf to wait for some more time.
They meditated for around one hour and Rulf was able to completely fill his spirit consciousness; however, Ajax's spirit consciousness was only filled by 60 percent.
The reason was the spirit stone. Rulf used a middle-grade spirit stone. So, he was able to recover his essence of nature within one hour whereas Ajax used only a low-grade spirit stone.
"The reason I asked you is that the other mercenaries are already here," Rulf shook his head as he pointed his finger at the surroundings.
In the distance, there were nearly 100 silhouettes that were moving in their direction with full battle equipment.
"Okay then. Let's go and fight the second batch of the demon army," Ajax didn't want to waste everyone's time because of his essence of nature. So, he directly stood up from the ground and asked Rulf to move.
"Good," Rulf nodded his head at Ajax's words and liked his behaviour before turning to the mercenaries that were coming from a distance and shouted, "Everyone, follow me."
"Yes sir,"
All of the mercenaries replied with a respectful tone before following Rulf towards the middle section of the cursed wilderness.
Similarly, Ajax also followed behind Rulf and at the same time he thought, 'Is he really the one who manages the mercenary guild?'
Seeing how respectful every mercenary was, towards Rulf made Ajax think about it.
'Anyway, let's think about it after this battle,' Soon, Ajax stopped thinking about it and thought about his spirit consciousness.
