Seeing the sudden appearance of the silhouette in the cave, Udo was surprised; however, Edmond raised his eyebrows and there was no surprised look on his face.
"Summoning master, there is someone coming towards the cave."
In the next second, the blackish red-coloured elemental spirit replied to Edmond in a respectful manner.
That's right!
It was an elemental spirit and it called Edmond as 'Summoning master'.

When he heard those words, Udo was speechless as he looked at Edmond with a surprised look on his face.
"Thanks for informing. You can go back to your duty and continue to keep an eye on my surroundings."
Edmond looked at Udo but he didn't say anything to him; instead, he nodded his head at his elemental spirit as he ordered him to go back to his duty.
"Yes, summoning master."
Since the elemental spirit knew how powerful his summoning master was, he didn't bother to say anything and just dissolved into the ground before disappearing.
"It might be one of the top 10 mercenary squads. Be prepared to kill anyone that comes through the entrance."
As a mercenary for a few years, Edmond picked up many things and he knew who could track him in such a short time. So, he asked Udo to be careful.
"I will."
While maintaining the same surprised look on his face, Udo nodded his head at Edmond and focused on the entrance of the cave which was covered by a huge boulder and some bushes.
"Why are you shocked after seeing my elemental spirit? You know I am a summoner, right?"
All of a sudden, Edmond asked Udo with a small laugh.
Even though they were in a tough situation right now, Edmond could not help but laugh at Udo when he saw the surprised look on his face.
"I know that you are a summoner but I don't know you are a dual elemental summoner."
Soon, Udo's surprised look replaced with a scoff as he continued saying, "What can I expect from you? You never even showed me your elemental spirits. Even at the life and death situations, you never used them as though summoning them would decrease your lifespan."
"Actually, I am not a dual elemental summoner."
After hearing Udo's words, Edmond's laugh increased even more as he shook his head and continued saying, "Don't get fooled with the elemental spirit's colour. Not all black-coloured elemental spirits will belong to dark or shadow elements."
"Then?"
"The elemental spirit you have just seen is a fire elemental spirit; however, he mutated after I formed a contract with him and became a dark fire elemental spirit."
With a slight smile on his face, Edmond replied to Udo's question.
"So, how many elemental spirits do you have? Five? I know you will have three official elemental spirits but I wonder how many unofficial elemental spirits you have."
After hearing Edmond's words, Udo felt a little more knowledge about the elemental spirits as he continued asking, "With your persuasion talents, I will not be surprised even if you have five unofficial elemental spirits."
Even though Udo and Edmond were close and adventuring for years, Udo didn't know anything about Edmond's elemental spirits or how many more elemental spirits he had in his spirit consciousness.
Moreover, today is the first day he had seen one of Edmond's elemental spirits. So, he became a lot more curious as he asked more questions to Edmond.

Just after Udo finished his words, they heard a loud voice from the outside.
"Today is not the time."
Hearing the voice from the outside, Edmond's face turned ugly because he knew who was the owner of the voice. So, he looked at Udo and shook his head.
'I doubt you would have answered all my questions even if he didn't come.'
Similarly, Udo had recognized the voice and knew who was outside the cave; however, he scoffed at Edmond because Udo was very sure that he would not get any answers from Edmond.
Even when Edmond was almost near a life and death situation, he didn't dare to use his elemental spirits or other trump cards. So, Udo didn't think Edmond was going to answer his questions even if the Quickthunder mercenary squad didn't come.
