SYSTEM MESSAGE:

[Linguistics Lv.3] has reached Lv.4.

After finishing a book explaining special Crafter classes, the System Message signalizing the increase in my level popped up with perfect timing.

I'm currently in the library located in Barataria town, studying so I could unlock the Demon Caller class. To do so, I need to read a designated "quest tome". Doing so would fill a "completion gauge" that I could see in the corner of my vision, and when it hit a specific number, the quest would be cleared and I could obtain the class. Most Mage-line classes are obtained in this fashion.

However, reading requires the [Linguistics] skill. And the Demon Caller book was of a higher difficulty than my class could handle, so I asked the librarian if they could help me with that. They gave me some books they asked me to read through, and just like that, my skill level went up! General skills may be easier to train than I first thought.

And with this..., FINISHED!!

SYSTEM MESSAGE:

You have consumed 5 AP to obtain the class: [Demon Caller].

Due to obtaining the class: [Demon Caller], the skill: [Taming Lv.1] has been replaced with the skill: [Demon Taming].

Bwa-hahahaha! Take a look at that! No, seriously. Better take a look at this class.

Class: Demon Caller
Rank: Intermediate
Class-line: Mage
Requirement conditions: Quest: "The Great Tome of Demon Summoning, Beginner version" Skill: [Taming] Karma Value: -50 or less. Special: Having tamed a demon-type monster with the [Taming] skill. Special: Own a facility that can contain demons.
Stats:
MP+ LUC+
Class traits: Unlocks taming- and summoning-related skills, restricted to demon-type monsters. Increases the effect of command-type skills (on demons only). Improves the chance for taming a demon-type monster.
Description:

The Demon Caller is a Mage-line class that focuses on taming and summoning demons. They do not shy from using the powers of evil to make their work easier. Succubi are not classified as tamable monsters, so many hormone-ruled boys do often fall into despair when reading this description.

The class grants skills related to taming, supervising, and summoning demons. It also grants access to general magic skills, as this class is still considered a Mage-line class.

If you want vicious demons to do your bidding (and you are not the kind to be terrified of the potential consequences), take this class.

There are no downsides with the stat-growth, but on the other hand, it means I won't have such a drastic increase compared to classes that do have such a situation. Not that I can see a stat a "tamer" would be bad with.

After that, there's the "upgraded" skill I got from the class:

Skill: Demon Taming
Skill Type: Leadership Skill
Skill Tier: 1
Element: ---
Effect: Allows the taming of demon-type monsters. The tamed monster will respawn in the user's Player Room after 1 hour (Players only) Can tame up to as many demons as this skill's level divided on two. Lv.1 allows the taming of 1 demon. The skill holder will receive EXP equal to [Skill level / 10]% of any EXP the tamed creatures obtained and vice versa. The skill holder can summon any tamed demons from their Player Rooms or other facilities where the demons live. For every summoned demon, the skill user's total MP will be reduced by X%. The value of X changes based on what type of demon is summoned: Single-type demon: 10% Flock-type demon: 5% Swarm-type demon: 1% Special-type demons: 50%

Yup, this is a straight upgrade. The summoning part sounds tricky but helpful. I can't drag Nyx with me everywhere either, like when I need to sneak through places like with the Goblin lair recently.

Regarding the part about "type", it seems that it differs if the tamed demon is from a race that works alone or not. Nyx is a "single-type", or so says the additional info on the "followers' tab" in the system menu, but I bet species like Goblins are of the "flock-type". "Swarm-types" must typically be insect-type monsters, no? Not that I wanna have a bug around me.

I'm blank on what a "Special-type" could be. Perhaps something like a dragon or a giant? Or even a demon god? I'll know if I ever encounter one.

I still have more than 1 AP thanks to clearing all the quests recently, but I don't feel like hasting it with the last class. Most of the books here described heroes of the sword, spear, bow, and so on, including great magicians of lore. Bluntly speaking, they're explaining the different classes by showing protagonists using them in their stories.

Using my time to study here to learn about the stronger classes doesn't sound bad, plus I need to develop my skills if I want to unlock rarer classes later on. Plus the stories are simply amazing on their own. I'll end up as a regular here if I'm not careful.

I dragged Nyx out of the picture book corner and we ventured outside to the city. The Succubi inhabitants didn't seem to be cosplaying today, but that only meant that they were dressed in incredibly revealing clothes. It's easy to get why there are so many male players here.

Hmm, what should I do for the rest of the day? I got Nyx with me, and it would feel strange to send her back just to test out the summoning effect...,

Quests. Let's farm quests and get AP to level up this new skill. With Nyx being completely an attacker-type, I still lack a meatwall to defend me in battles against stronger enemies.

So with that, I returned to the Union hall. I'll look for unlimited Quests and go on a killing spree, be it F-rank or whatever.

The most lucrative quest seems to be..., "Color-Fishes' scales". Creatures that live in the Dungeon and are unique to that place. [Dismantling] is required since the fish doesn't drop items normally. There is one quest for each of the different colored fish, meaning red, blue, green, yellow, purple, pink, and grey......

Suddenly, I feel like I'm having deja-vu. Ain't these fishes similar to the "sin spiders" that used to live in the fort before I took over the place? And the description of the place, ain't it the same as the one for the Dungeon where Jill, the "trapped demon" from the demon thread, is trapped in?

It could be a coincidence, but I sent a message on the demon thread that I was gonna take a look at the Dungeon close to Barataira town.

Not that I'm gonna waste time waiting for a reply. Those fish scales are waiting for me~.

But before that, some preparations. As in, shopping.

---

"*Graw!!*" - Nyx

Nyx's claws slashed through the flying fishes and reduced them to sashimi. Well, they're G-ranks. They're so easy to beat that we're not getting any EXP from them even. The ranking difference is brutal, for both sides. In the late game, it will be difficult to level up from then on, won't it?

We're currently inside the Dungeon. It feels like we're inside some ancient Greek temple, but with lots of waterways and small waterfalls on the walls. Colorful fishes, our target for the trip, keep on emerging from openings in the walls to attack us. Luckily they're just G-ranks, so they do practically no damage if they hit. Besides, we can use [Dark Drain] if things get dicey.

We'd split the workload so that Nyx was responsible for killing the fishes that kept on charging at us while spitting water bullets and I took care of dismantling them so we could get our hands on the colorful fish scales. This doubles as both farming for the unlimited quests and giving Nyx some proficiency with her Warrior class. Sweet~.

As for why other people aren't hunting the fishes here with us, they've graduated to fishing in the sea. The colorful fish scales don't sell for a lot, plus the fish themselves don't give much EXP, so most people have turned their attention to the much more profitable sea fishing industry.

Speaking of status growth, I haven't been that occupied with my own lately.

Hmm, not bad. And the only thing I've been using AP on is the new Demon Caller class. Nice~. Teachers are a blessing to us talentless mobs~. Not that I am one.

As for the advanced title, I got it after clearing some quests back in the village. Its effects aren't that dramatic, so I never showed much interest in it.

Title Name: Quest Novice
Acquisition condition: Quest: [First Quest Cleared] Clear 100 quests.
Effects: None.
Status enhancements upon equipping: HP: +10 MP: +10 SP: +10 LUC: +10
Description:

A title that commemorates the many quests you have cleared. Keep it up, because you have barely begun.

And while I was busy looking at my stats in between taking the fishes apart, the number of colorful sushi ingredients seems to have diminished. Rather, we're out of them.

Nyx looked around in dismay, but she couldn't see any more fish. Did she find them that enjoyable? Wow, am I raising a future mass murderer? Or fish-murderer?

Now, this is a problem. There should be more fishes inside the Dungeon, but the place's closed off. Specifically by a huge set of doors. Many other players have tried to pry them open, but there have been few successful attempts..., not.

These doors have a nasty trick to them in that there are multiple methods of opening them. The nasty part is that they can easily lead to monster houses with tons of D-rank creatures, insta-death areas, or places filled with overpowered tentacle-like creatures. The last one is a gender-equal threat.

And even if someone managed to unlock these doors, they only lead to the second floor..., only to find another set of doors blocking the path to the 3rd floor. Most players have given up on this Dungeon, especially since the correct "solution" to the doors seems to change with each attempt.

"Hmm, yeah, too risky. Let's give up for today." - Garami

Nyx let out a sad sound in response to my decision. Was it that fun? Claw-fishing, I mean.

*Beep*

Ah, someone responded to the message I left on the demon thread. And it is good ol' Jill. He says..."wait, there may be a way to let you in"? Let me in? Is he talking about the doors?

Not too soon after, a screenshot appeared on the thread, showing a wall that seems to be from this Dungeon from its architecture. It has several engravings on it, and some of them..., are glowing?

Let me guess, there is some similar stuff here on the door..., yup, a classic. You need two players to get past these doors without taking any risks.

I tried opening the door by using the combination of buttons shown on the screenshot. The doors opened and revealed..., the stairs to the next floor. I walked one step at the time up the stair, ready for any monster houses popping up at any given moment, but I reached the second floor quite anti-climatically...

"Hey, what's the big idea!? If you could let people in, why did you never give a hand!?"

I wrote that kinda message on the board, aimed at Jill, and his reply was: "Because they were all a bunch of horny perverts with an interest in gender-bending!!". Yeah, I guess that's a reason for being uncooperative.

"Nyx, it seems we're having an extension on this fishing trip." - Garami

"*Graw~!*" - Nyx

Time to collect as many fish scales as possible and evolve that class of yours!

Please report us if you find any errors so we can fix it asap!
