Dragons fly across the clear, blue skies. The sky was blanketed by the huge number of dragons, the main force of their airpower, carrying the willpower and pride of the Second Civilization Area and flying off to destroy the enemy from another world.
Commander of the dragon knights, Alban, looks behind him.
The highlight that was in the form of over 300 dragons held a power that gave the belief that they will be victorious over any enemy imaginable.
The wyvern lords, the Second Civilization Area’s main force… They set out in almost full force within their operational range, towards their destination, the 42 warships of the invaders from another world, the Gra Valkas Empire.
“Hm?”
An object that looked like a dot appeared in the direction ahead of Alban. The dot gradually became bigger and it’s true shape became clearer. Alban takes out his magic communicator and slowly addresses the other dragon knights.
“Everyone, we, the elite dragon knights of the Second Civilization, are the hope for the Second Civilization Area and their final holdout!!!
We must push out the invaders… the invaders that have come from another world out of the Second Civilization Area!!!
The homeland which you love… the families you must protect… it is no exaggeration that this will be the battle that defines whether we can save them or not!
Everyone, give your all!!!”
He turns off the magic communicator. The guardians of the Second Civilization Area resolved themselves for the coming fight.

“Th…they’re fast!!!”
“Don’t break formation!!!”
High-pitched sounds from the Gra Valkas Empire’s proud Antares carrier-based fighters resounded through the vicinity. More friendly knights fall out of the sky from the bullets of light that fly past them. On the other hand, the fireballs from the knights miss them almost entirely. The enemy only numbered 36, while the more than 300 wyverns… the supreme ruler of the skies, was being one-sidedly slaughtered. Regardless, the dragon knights advanced while their numbers were thinned out. Eventually, they sighted the fleet of the Gra Valkas Empire.
“Gotcha!!!”
The dragon knights’ numbers have decreased to 213. The enemy fighters that played around with the dragon knights have probably run out of bullets since they have flown away, leaving only friendly fliers occupying the skies.
“Chaaaaaaarge!!!”
Their will to fight burned up and they began their customary charge on the enemy fleet below.
Tracers mixed in with the vicious anti-air fire hurled from the fleet cleanse the skies above… if there was one word to compare this dense cloud of bullets with, it would be rain. Sounds of guns firing and explosions reverberated in the vicinity.
The shells that were being fired are equipped with proximity fuses. The reflection of radar emitted from the shells prompt the shells to explode just from the detection of a wyvern passing nearby.
The wyverns fall out of the sky one by one. However, they were valiant, and so they continued onwards.
The magic fire bullets released from magical powers inaccessible to humans… The attacks from these fireballs find their mark on the Gra Valkas Empire warships one by one, burning military personnel on the decks, the ones operating the anti-air cannons, and everyone else on the unarmored sections. However, they couldn’t fatally damage the imperial warships which are on the same level as those from World War 2, and their numbers slowly plummeted from being caught by anti-air cannon fire.
Another imperial warship is hit by a fireball. The swollen fireball engulfed the front section of the ship. However, the enemy ship advanced as if nothing had happened and continued to hurl attacks up into the sky.
The attacks of the wyverns… their immense magical firepower was completely absorbed, and their enemy didn’t even seem to have received any damage at all. It was just like a sea monster that marched on unfazed.
“Tha… that’s ridiculous!!!”
The commander of the dragon knights Alban hopelessly continued to attack with the firepower at his disposal. Even the magic ships of the line of the superpowers only used anti-magic shell armor plating sparingly, with much of their hulls made completely out of wood. The viscous flame bullets are difficult to extinguish, so even if the enemy had ships, wyverns would be very effective… or at least, that should have been the case.
The more than 300 dragon knights at the time of the sortie dwindled down to only a few, including himself.
“You… you bastards!! All of you!!”
Something popped. The right side of his body felt abnormally hot. He went in and out from a feeling of slipping off to a continued sense of balance, and then for some reason he lost all sensation in his body and he fell from his wyvern.
Commander Alban of the Union of Second Civilization Dragon Knights lost his life to a timed fuze while riding his wyvern lord.

The World Union Fleet also had many of its ships destroyed and up in smoke. Despite that, the enemy fleet was hardly damaged, and the fleets of the Holy Mirishial Empire and the superpower Mu, which are considered to be the sole powers that could stand up to the enemy, were hopelessly fighting off and being overwhelmed by air attacks.
Commander Raider of Mu’s naval task force was suffering from a sense of powerlessness which he had never felt before.
“The enemy fleet will soon be within sight!”
The casualties they suffered off of Cartalpas came to mind. They will soon make contact with the enemy fleet while at the same time, receive attacks from the air.
“Nghh… Gra Valkas Empire… will this be the end for us?!”
The commanders of the World Union Fleet, including Raider, were being dominated by a mood of despair.

There were no longer any friendly forces up in the sky and the enemy aircraft were simply going around in circles. On the sea, fierce bombardment from the enemy ships set fire to many ships and pulverized even more.
Mu’s flagship, the La Erdo, was no exception. A single strike from an enemy cruiser rendered the main battery in front of the ship out of order while the enemy ships were still out of their range.
Right across the battlefield, several ships from the fleet of the Holy Mirishial Empire, which was said to be the world’s strongest, had already been sunk. Flames rattled the flagship Ceintel while intense smoke engulfed the entire vessel.
On the other hand, the damage inflicted on the enemy was zero… completely zero.
The difference in power was crystal clear and many from the World Union Fleet felt hopeless.
“Is this… is this it for us?!?!”
Commander Raider powerlessly mutters.
“However… if we lose here, they will turn their fangs on our home… they will point them towards our citizens… the citizens we must protect!!!
The World Union Fleet still has some strength left! Everyone that can fight… At least up until we lose our fangs, we mustn’t yield!!!”
La Erdo captain Tenal vigorously speaks to commander Raider.

If they know they will die wounding the enemy for the sake of their people, everyone will fight valiantly. However, the reality is that they cannot even harm their enemy and the result is that they are simply being one-sidedly slaughtered. Everyone was terrified.
“Emergency message over the magic comms! It’s… it’s from the Holy Mirishial Empire flagship, the Ceintel!”
The communications officer raises the volume on the magic comms.
“Holy Mirishial Empire ship, Ceintel to all units! Holy Mirishial Empire ship, Ceintel to all units! From this moment on, our empire will use ancient weapons.

Accompanying sounds they have never heard before was an approaching aerial battleship that made splashes of water underneath it. Its size easily dwarfs a La Kasami-class battleship and it approached with a speed far faster than any contemporary battleship.
“!!!”
They were at a loss for words… Sweat fell from their foreheads as they looked at the mind-boggling thing which they have never seen before.
“That thing… Is it even possible for something so massive to float in the sky?! Could we as a mechanical civilization even get to that level… Are you telling me we have to be a magical civilization to reach such places?!”
Raider has reached the limits of his shock.
Eventually, the Gra Valkas Empire aircraft circling over the skies turned and flew towards the aerial battleship. As they observed the aerial battleship closely, bullets of light on a magnitude they have never witnessed before are fired from the top of the aerial battleship.
A few seconds passed… It only took a few seconds for the powerful aircraft of the Gra Valkas Empire to disappear from the skies.
“Huh?!”
A rain of fire fell from the skies, consisting of pulverized pieces of what were once aircraft.
The old weapon advanced as if nothing had happened.
It was mind-blowing.
The Gra Valkas Empire is obviously overwhelmingly strong in comparison to us. And yet… just like child’s play, it showed the empire that despite its strength, it is powerless against it.
Commander Raider’s fingers trembled.
“Wha… wha… what just happened?! Wa… wa… was that… the power of the old weapons?!”
The ancient sorcerous empire which, in ancient times, ruled over the world with terror from its immense power, destroyed the nation of the dragon gods, and even dared to draw a bow against the gods themselves… The superweapons of the Ravernal Empire… Power too extreme that it can be seen in all dimensions…

What happened after seemed like a dream. The aerial battleship successively dealt attacks from outside the range of enemy guns, reliably sending ships one at a time to the depths of the ocean.
The ships of the powerful Gra Valkas Empire were helplessly sunk. Towards the end, with an intense onslaught that felt otherworldly, the enemy battleships were entombed in coffins of waves and maelstroms.
“Ho… how dreadful!!!”
“Are those the weapons of old?!”
“The Holy Mirishial Empire truly is amazing! Befitting of carrying the name of the world’s best!”

The morale of the troops from all the countries returned.

An ominous flying object travelled through the beautiful blue sky as the sea beneath it oscillated and swirls of water cluttered around. If a modern Japanese person were to look at it, it would seem like a giant UFO.
Bigger than the Self-Defense Forces’ proud helicopter destroyers, the approximately 260 meter-wide object that flew over the skies was nothing short of magnificent. The image of it floating 200 meters above the sea evoked an overwhelming sense of intimidation.
It is the Holy Mirishial Empire’s proud ancient superweapon, the aerial battleship Pal Chimera. Captain Meteos, having been given this absolute power, listened to reports from his subordinates.
“The enemy ships and flying machines engaging the World Union Fleet seems to have been annihilated by Machine 1.”
“Hmph… An expected result. Captain Walman is also merciless, it seems.”
“Sir Walman is moving west towards the enemy main fleet.”

That alone was enough to despair them.
The commander in chief of the Eastern Fleet, Caesar, said to be the great general, unwaveringly stared at the sea. Defiant against attacks from the air, dodging anti-air attacks, and repelling small caliber anti-air cannon fire… There was no doubt that it was certainly a monster. Deep down, he was agitated, but he showed absolutely none of his disturbed self in front of his subordinates.
If the commander were to falter, the rest wouldn’t follow him.
“Got something on the radar! 2 aerial battleships are starting to make their way here! Furthermore, according to our recon plane, the enemy main fleet has sped up and is also heading towards us!”

The commander in chief of the Eastern Fleet, Caesar, said to be the great general, unwaveringly stared at the sea.
