Chapter 95 - De Facto Couple

Sehun, the cause of Yoonshin’s outburst, casually played dumb.

“Did you know that you excel at making people want to lash out?” Yoonshin snarled.

“I’ll take that as a compliment,” Sehun replied coolly.

“Are you planning not to meet me? Are we not going on any dates whatsoever?”

“Why should I go on a date with you?”

“Wow…” Yoonshin exclaimed, struck dumb when he heard exactly what he expected. Sehun had a point though. Their relationship wasn’t clear enough to be a sufficient reason for needing to go on a date together.

Last night, Yoonshin felt a thin wire now connected them, allowing a small current of emotive electricity. They had yet to share any deep conversations, and Yoonshin’s feelings toward Sehun might not be that big. However, something that cropped up into existence couldn’t simply be undone and vanish.

“Do you hate talking to me by any chance?” Yoonshin asked.

“No, I like to,” Sehun replied.

“…”

“Do you have a problem with that?”

“No.”

“You looked like you did just a moment ago when you exclaimed, ‘Wow…’”

“I said I don’t have a problem.”

The word “like.”

Yoonshin’s lips stuck together in a rigid line as he had never dreamed that the word would come from Sehun’s mouth. His face was probably burning up. His thoughts completely froze solid like a water pipe in the winter, so he couldn’t come up with an appropriate response in time. While he struggled to hide his astonishment, Sehun waggled his finger at the remote control on the coffee table.

“Fourth-year, close the blinds, lock the door, and come here,” he ordered.

Yoonshin wanted to deliberately act difficult just like Sehun sometimes did, but before he knew it, he had walked over to the table and picked up the remote. Before Yoonshin lowered the blinds, he checked the hallway in case anyone noticed anything strange. Thankfully, all the employees were focused on their work and weren’t paying attention to Sehun’s office.

Upon confirming, Yoonshin locked the door and closed the blinds. He felt the presence of another person from behind him.

It was Sehun.

At some point, Sehun had approached Yoonshin and hugged him from behind. Then, he angled his head slightly to gently kiss Yoonshin’s neck. Yoonshin leaned his head against Sehun’s shoulder and stretched his arms behind him to pull Sehun closer.

Sehun was the one who instructed Yoonshin to come over after he was done locking the door, yet the older lawyer couldn’t wait, pressing his body against Yoonshin. Yoonshin felt the impatience in Sehun’s actions, and he felt flattered about it. Even so, he hadn’t heard from Sehun how he truly felt about Yoonshin, so he still felt like he was getting the short end of the stick.

“I want to see your face,” Yoonshin said breathlessly, wanting to turn his head. Sehun grabbed Yoonshin by the back of his neck and forced him to turn his way. Sehun’s fingers brushed teasingly inside his shirt collar. Where Sehun touched, Yoonshin’s skin flared up.

Flustered, Yoonshin tried to repress his excitement when he heard Sehun’s low, melodious voice vibrating in his eardrums, “Who do you think will say it first?”

Sehun dropped all the context, but Yoonshin knew exactly what he meant. Sehun was talking about who would say he liked the other or express a deeper sort of emotion first. They had already kissed, yet Sehun was still trying to feel out and measure the other. It was just like Sehun to do that.

Yoonshin, who was getting doubly uneasy, asked, “So… Are we actually going out with each other? I think you need to make that clear before I can answer your question.”

Sehun’s eyebrows scrunched together, baffled as to why Yoonshin would ask that so suddenly. “I didn’t ask you?”
