186 Chapter 185: Surrounded by enemies

Hmph!

“Who do you think will lead this war? Who do you think will lead the attack?” The ancestral dragon of earth said in a stern voice.

“Even without your arrival Damon Ross was a handful. We planned to lead the invasion from the start” The ancestral dragon of creation and death spoke in a lowered tone.

“We are not the only ones you will get to go against. Do expect to meet the old gods and cosmic beings amongst this army!” The ancestral dragon of destruction said coldly.

“Do well to train your baby hosts well. We expect a good fight. Don’t even dream of making it to the demigod realm in this lifetime” The ancestral dragon of storm said coldly before their aura vanished.

The sky became clear again, leaving Cyrus and the others stunned and terrified at the same time.

“What are they talking about?” Elsa was confused and she felt panicked as well.

“I thought immortals like this cannot interfere with the realm of mortals. How can they take part in this war?” Cyrus asked with an anxious look on his face.

“God’s descent” Sol explained in just two words.

.....

Hearing this Gin’s eyes lit up but it wasn’t in a good way.

“God’s descent. I heard about it before from my elder brother, the previous host. When deities are unable to bear to see things go bad for their people in the past, they found a way to reach their people directly and protect them. They called it God’s descent” Gin said with a strange level of excitement in his eyes.

Sol shot Gin a stunning glance and revealed a rare smile.

“Not bad for a mortal. You are quite knowledgeable” Sol complimented Gin earnestly

“With the Gods’ descent, they can hide in the body of a mortal. While they possess the host’s cultivation base. Their rich understanding of the secrets of cultivation plus their ability to show power far beyond their level makes them deadly. Most times the hosts die after a while and the lucky ones are just crippled for life” Gin continued.

“For them to say this, they must have prepared good hosts... knowing how shameless these old gods and Cosmic spirits are, they won’t use their spirit hosts. So don’t consider the possibility of Kaido and the other cosmic spirit hosts getting possessed. To gain more advantage in battle, they won’t remove a competent fighter. Instead, they would rather enter a weaker body and fight alongside them” Sol explained with a frown.

Buzz!

???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????-????????????.????????????

“Are you saying the cosmic spirit hosts will most likely betray the continent in their war?” Cyrus was stunned.

“Isn’t it obvious? Who doesn’t know this by now is simply too dumb. Those hosts can only answer to their masters. Regardless of the kind of relationship they have with people here, they will obey their masters” Sol said with such confidence, no one could refute his words.

“By hosts, do you mean the new gods also have hosts in the other continents?” Gin quickly asked with a panicked look on his face.

“You are truly the smartest mortal I have seen so far. Well there is Damon, but I won’t say Damon is as quick-witted as you, if not he wouldn’t have lost to me” Sol said with a genuine smile on his face. He seemed to be liking Gin more and more.

“It’s a recent development but a smart one. If the God vein can produce hosts why can’t they? By the way, even the cosmic spirits do it” Sol shrugged his shoulders while speaking. He had a nonchalant view of these things.

“You should be worried,” Gin said coldly.

While Sol and Damon were the types to have absolute confidence in their strengths, Damon never looked down on his enemies. He entered each battle like it would be his last. Maybe that’s why he felt Damon was easier to talk to about things like this.

“Why would I? New generation craps cannot stand in my way. The true threats will be the old gods and not their pawns” Sol snorted disdainfully as he spoke.

“Gather three pawns and place them expertly and even a king can fall. Just like Damon fell to the tricks of this new generation hosts” Gin said coldly.

Hearing this Sol frowned deeply and finally turned to meet Gin’s gaze.

“What are you trying to say?” Sol’s tone depicted his building rage.

“I’m saying, I will be a lot more appreciative if you can drop your useless pride and look at the odds stacked against us here. We have four ancient dragons with two hosts. Five to six old god hosts and five to six old gods available through God’s descent. Let’s not talk about cosmic spirits and their hosts who will cause a break in our ally’s defenses. If the kingdoms of this continent should fall, we will all fall” Gin’s tone was poisonous and fierce.

“That’s why I’m here. Large scale wars like this are where the true power of the death mage appears. Trust me, I’m far stronger than your friend Damon. There is nothing to worry about” Sol said calmly, ignoring all the points Gin just made.

Not bothering to speak, Sol began freefalling into the black whirlpool.

Wam!

As soon as he fell in, he felt a familiar energy pierce through his skin.

“The true death inheritance has once again returned to me. I will not fail this time” Sol spoke coldly as he allowed the enemy to pour into his body.

“I will be taking my body back!”

Buzzz!

Sol’s eyes yanked open and he found himself in that similar dark room which he left Damon. From the black pool, a figure could be seen dragging himself out with fierce eyes.

“Tell me, death god, have you experienced fear before?” Damon asked with a cruel look on his face, still mostly submerged in the black pool.

“Impossible...” Sol muttered as he watched Damon climb out.

Bang!

A figure shot past Sol and kicked Damon back into the black pool. Demos stood over the black pool, gazing at it coldly.

“L??” Demos muttered and multiple darkish green seals appeared on the surface of the black pool.

“Master...”

“Don’t bother much about it, the boy is very capable that’s why I chose him. If he didn’t cause any trouble at all, I would be disappointed” Demos said nonchalantly.

“He will be of no problem to you anymore,” Demos added.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Suddenly an explosion rippled around the black pool and a crazed laughter filled the air!

Hahahahahahahahahaha!

“You already know what I’m like and you dare cross me? For how long do you think you can hold me down? HAHAHAHAHA! I would like to see how long you can hold me down. Weaklings, I am Damon Ross. Death itself!” Damon bellowed furiously and an invisible force smashed against Sol, sending him out of the realm.

Wam!

Sol opened his eyes and frowned deeply. The vision sent shivers down his spine as he remembered Gin’s words. If he found a way to bring Damon back, he wouldn’t hesitate to do so.

He never took those words seriously but now Damon was able to pull him into his mind and expel him at will. The level of control he has over the body has increased exponentially. What happened?

[Do not doubt yourself. That will be the first step to failure. This is his body and he has the greatest level of control over it and he knows that. It’s not because your will is weak, it’s because his will is strong. I will remain here and make sure he is sealed. Focus on your transition to the angel realm] Demos’ voice echoed in his head, in a bid to make Sol focus on what’s important now.

Sol frowned and said nothing. He shut his eyes tightly and focused on his evolution. He could feel the cultivation defect in his body slowly rectifying itself as he kept consuming the darkness around him.

He could feel the hidden injuries within his body heal but even when he was almost saturated with the darkness the cultivation defect was still there.

Sol leaned back and frowned. His eyes seemed lost in thoughts as he considered a lot of things.

“Do I still need the Life mage to completely heal my deformations?” Sol muttered with a frown.

He believed his immortal body could prevent such wounds and he was right. The immortal body could prevent such wounds but since it has already occurred it couldn’t heal such a cultivation defect.

Fortunately, his injuries have been healed just well enough for the effects of this cultivation defect to be almost useless to him.

“We will deal with that later, for now, let me focus on my ascension to the angel realm. Only then will I have enough strength to deal with what comes after” Sol said with a dull look in his eyes. While he may not say it out loud, even the main god of death could feel the pressure from the forces against them. He just has no reason to
