55 Chapter 54: Surprising everyone
“I see” Damon nodded his head in understanding as he carried Lucy out of the room and no one attempted to stop him. It seemed like they were already aware that he won’t be able to leave so they weren’t bothered.
“what are you doing?” Lucy asked with a confused look on her pale face.
“There are lots of things you shouldn’t know about me. If you ever found out, I would have no choice but to kill you, so here is the deal” Damon said with a slight frown.
“You stay here, where it’s safe and I fight. Once the formation stopping you from leaving is down, run as fast as you can. Leave this place. I will meet up with you later” Damon said casually which made Lucy frown.
The fact that he refused to make eye contact with her meant he was hiding something. Even then she wondered if he would be able to win since that lady alone was more than enough to put her down and she is meant to be as strong as Damon if not stronger. Fighting against those people alone is no different from suicide.
“You can’t go in alone. You will be killed” Lucy held on to him and said.
Hearing this, Damon gazed at the lady with a strange look on his face. They both locked eyes and this could be considered a romantic moment for them because Lucy looked away and blushed deeply but Damon felt different.
He wouldn’t deny that Lucy is really cute for someone her age and he finds her attractive. But he didn’t have the time for minor things like love.
While they locked eyes, she assumed it was a moment but during that time only one thought ran through Damon’s mind.

Damon calmly dropped her and didn’t air his thoughts. He simply shrugged his shoulders, shaking off her words.
“Make sure you leave this place as soon as possible. I will do the rest” Damon said casually before turning and walking back into the building
The fox spirits were still standing there, waiting for him calmly and Damon chilled inside. Once someone experiences something seemingly impossible. A magic circle appeared beneath Damon’s feet, revealing a massive eye that twisted and turned fiercely!
“Sacrificial magic?” The three-tailed fox spirit growled in shock but Damon snorted in response!
“You wish!” He said disdainfully as a bone spear formed by his side before shooting at the formation at the ceiling!
Seeing this the fox spirits were too stunned to react quickly so they watched in anticipation and with their breaths held as the bone spear, pierced the eye at the center of the ceiling and slowly got sucked into the black whirlpool at the center!
“Hahahahahah! Did you really think you can destroy such an advanced formation with a single attack? ” The three-tailed fox lady laughed out loud but the next moment her facial expression froze.

Suddenly darkish purple flames erupted from the formation above, burning strongly! Right before their eyes, the darkish purple flames consumed the entire formation on the ceilings which shattered all the formations set up earlier!
Lucy who sat outside was shocked when she felt the mark on her forehead get cleaned by darkish purple flames but this fire wasn’t hot instead it felt cold!
She looked behind her and noticed the barrier preventing her from leaving was down as well!
Run!
An enraged cry erupted from the building in the form of a wolf howl which left her pale and terrified. Damon has brought down the formation through a means which no one could understand now he was calling for help!
A formation like this would have been perfect if the death mage wasn’t present. It didn’t work on him because of his death magic. Making contact with the formation with his power, he allowed his death magic to get absorbed by his attack, which set everything ablaze from the inside.
The air wreaked of Sacrificial magic so he wasn’t bothered about the Archmage and bishop since he can pin it all on the fox spirits. Meanwhile, he could have taken advantage of the barrier and used his death magic to deal with the enemy, that way no one would be able to sense the death magic but after considering a few things, he changed his mind.
If he were to use the death magic, their corpse will only be empty husks which will prompt the archmage to ask questions and investigate further. Unless he is willing to act like this incident never happened and forgo the rewards for killing so many supernatural beings, this is not advisable.
But why would he give up a chance to acquire resources?
