82 Chapter 81: A dreadful tale!

Paint the scene in your head. In a long corridor riddled with flames and falling debris from the ceiling. At one edge of the corridor stood Kyle Trueblood, dressed in sharp costly robes, adorned with jewels and ornaments of different kinds. Amongst the people here he stood out for the wealth worn on his body.

Meanwhile at the other end was a young boy of barely fifteen, standing amid countless darkish purple beings which have a striking resemblance to specific beings. These undead beasts lack real bodies and are purely made of mana. This aspect practically gives them an immortal body. This is something any strong necromancer could wish for and only the best of them all can reach something close to this level!

Only, one forbidden magic can make the other dark arts look like child’s play, including blood magic.

Outside those who have a strong relationship with the blood clan, no one else should have blood magic unless they are the guardians and pioneers of the dark arts.

“I FINALLY MET YOU AGAIN IN THIS NEW LIFE!” Kyle bellowed.

For someone who had a traumatic past on a particular event, one would expect him to flee from that past but once standing against it, Kyle didn’t feel fear, instead, he felt excitement!

As long as he could kill Damon, he can slowly open up the lock on his heart that has been dragging him down for a long time now.

As a being that has reached the peak of the warrior realm, not many things can challenge him

Even a champion realm foe would need to put in some effort to kill him, talk less of a kid who put in a lot of effort to just break into the warrior realm. His mind shook as he remembered the past when he did in-depth research on death guardian spirit hosts.

.....

He had a rough understanding of what their true power is like and their access to numerous arts of darkness. Gazing at the youthful Damon with pitch black demonic eyes, Kyle wanted to believe this kid knew little due to his young age but he didn’t let his guard down, one bit!

Grin!

A cruel smile erupted on Kyle’s face as his body began shifting and twisting, blustering with immense strength as a red surge of energy swept across his body

Blood empowerment!

Raging blood!

Blood lust!

While it was almost negligible, Damon noticed the red veil which ran through the body of the enemy. The air around Kyle turned bloody as the red mist slowly diffused from his body.

“Die....”

Xiu!

It seemed like time paused as Kyle dashed forward. Going up against countless undead soldiers is only a problem if the caster is not in view. By the way, no matter how troublesome undead armies are, he considered it a rookie mistake for Damon to summon human realm undead beings while hoping to compete with a warrior-level foe like him!

His image flickered through the enemy lines and quietly struck for gold! His palm shot forward like a spear, aiming to decapitate Damon in one blow, that was why he put in so much effort in casting many physical enhancement abilities in his arsenal!

His aim was to end this fight in a single strike!

“Cute....”

When Kyle moved initially, it felt like time was slowed down and all the undead army around Damon was frozen, but just before his palm could reach Damon’s neck, he felt Damon’s eyes twitch!

Shit!

Boom!

A fierce explosion occurred within the forbidden palace as a wall collapsed and two figures shot out of it!

Woosh!

Shooting out of the smoke, blood surged around Kyle like three rings, blocking furious bone spear bombardments! A small portion of Kyle’s right palm was covered in what looked like people’s blisters!

‘He wasn’t slow, he just let me come do close in, I wouldn’t be able to retreat immediately! I fell for a trap!” Kyle cried out in his mind as he flashed the purple blisters on his palm a cold glare!

It was spreading!

Puffff!

Blood splattered everywhere as his palm fell off and before he could do anything, a figure dressed in glittering bone armor shoot out of the smoke, charging toward Kyle with two bone daggers surging in darkish purple flames.

Peng!

Damon swung down ruthlessly but strangely, the blood pouring out of Kyle’s exposed wrist gathered and formed a sword, allowing Kyle to parry safely!

Hmph!

Damon snorted coldly as he stretched his hand and a darkish purple magic array emerged but this time it wasn’t around Damon but beneath the enemy’s feet!

Plump!

More darkish purple blisters began to emerge around Kyle’s body making his face twitch. He could feel his strength and speed leaving him and he instantly knew what was happening.

Curse magic!

“This!” Kyle was about to protest but then he looked up and on the far ceiling above them was a massive ball of eye and a dreadful feeling smeared on his skin!

“Sacrificial magic is no trivial power... the laws of this world are revealed through it!” Damon said coldly as cries of the dead began resonating within the room. His eyes were cold and distant as a cool breeze flushed in but even then it didn’t put the fire out.

Countless magic arrays spread across the entire building appearing beneath all the corpses and people still within the building, be it male or female!

Damon was planning on using them all as an anchor to his spell!

“And no, I am not some inexperienced child whom you can deal with easily... I may not carry their cultivation but I carry with me their memories and experience... even if you kill me, the next death mage will arrive with the memories of you taking my life. Since you have appeared in front of me, your life became forfeit!” Damon said coldly.

Bang!

Bang!

More debris fell across from the ceiling and the flames raged on even stronger. The world around them seemed to twist and turn as hands emerged from below holding onto Kyle. More cries could be heard as shadowy figures emerged from all sides holding the vampire!

“What is this?” Kyle was terrified.

Bang!

Fierce power exploded from his body as only one thought raced through his head.

Grrrrrrrrr!

Gagging and pleading voices filled the sky as more sounds could be heard. Around him, more of these shadowy figures and lost souls of the dead kept emerging from the ground and racing towards him. They seemed eager to hold him down but they couldn’t, so why?

Kyle gazed at Damon again but this time with a more fearful look in his eyes. The world has always worked a certain way, and so has magic beings.

Sacrificial magic always has three major factors that influence all spells related to it. The first is an anchor! For sacrificial magic to work, there must be an anchor or one can consider a sacrifice. The more sacrifice offered the more powerful the effect may be.

The second is the cause. Sacrificial magic tends to act like a trap which needs to be triggered by a certain action. Once triggered the spell activates and the final part which is the effect is the aftermath of using the spell.

The kind of effect it may have varies, depending on the spell and the anchors.

Everyone within the forbidden palace was used as Damon’s anchor and his presence here is cause for the spell to activate but the effect is what he is yet to see.

Being plagued by curse magic and now a sacrificial spell, Kyle sincerely felt like he had miscalculated by choosing to fight Damon!

Even till now, the souls and shadow figures kept forming across the room and walking towards Kyle, perfectly hiding Damon within the crowd. In such a situation anyone would be left disturbed but the enemy stood with furrowed eyebrows and clenched fists. Vampires have very specific methods through which they can be killed, none of these were amongst them so he couldn’t understand what Damon was trying to do!

“Once upon a time, in a distant land was a gathering of people with special abilities and incredible power, searching for a way to prove themselves. In a world where martial arts is king and strength is respected by all, a young man with terrifying confidence in his eyes appeared!” Damon said in what almost seemed like a sad tone.

Suddenly the approaching figures stopped and they all began playing roles according to Damon’s words.

At first, Kyle was confused but then his eyes dilated with surprise as he saw a figure amongst the crowd that almost looked like him standing beside Damon.

Buzzzz!

A cold feeling reached his heart and fear gripped him. His eyes shivered as he remembered a chilling story he heard not too long ago, maybe half a decade ago. It was about the old guardian spirit host of death and her untimely demise.

Held down by the kingdom’s forces and toured badly, only cries of pain and help could be heard for days but after a while, she stopped crying.

Instead, she began telling a story.

A story that claimed the lives of thousands!
