Black smoke began to shoot ice with shattering loud sounds from somewhere.

Sharp icicles began to stick up from the bottom of the garden.

The icicles, which looked like they would cause critical condition if something went wrong, began to fly insanely near Dominique and me.

“You must avoid them, Mel!”

Dominique raised one hand and destroyed the mass of ice.

‘How am I supposed to avoid it!’

I hid behind Dominique, covering my face.

In order not to be nuisance in an emergency situation, you have to hide and do nothing!

However, the monstrous black smoke seemed to swell Dominique’s actions.

A sharp cross-section of ice began to pour down faster than Dominique’s crushing.

[That’s it? Contractor.]

Gruesome voices rang out throughout the garden, scratching the blackboard.

Soon after, my vision was darkened and my breathing began to tighten.

“Huh, huk…”

The moment my airway was blocked, I began to get drowsy.

I was breathing hard, feeling the air barely coming in through my nose.

But even that was completely blocked after a few seconds.

“Eu…”

In front of me, the black smoke moved slowly and shouted.

[I’m going to kill this human!]

A scream rang out. It was the voice of a chilling devil.

‘What the hell is up with this crazy guy?’

When I got goosebumps all over my body, I heard the voice of relief in my ear.

“On whose desires?”

Dominique, who came near me, tried to take off the black smoke that was strangling me.

[I will kill you! I will kill you and get revenge!]

However, even with Dominique strength, the evil spirit only choked me even harder.

“K-keub!”

My vision was quickly blurred.

The smoke that was strangling me penetrated my heart.

I was really dying.

Paak!

Just then, Dominique pulled out the smoke.

“…h-huk.”

I touched the area around my throat where I had been choked.

It seemed like it would leave a scar.

Dominique, who raised me up, gritted his teeth and spoke.

“Come out.”

Pang!

The large smoke turned into a child that looked about seven years old.

Hair blacker than black, dark skin, fangs protruding from the teeth and pointy horns above his head.

Dominique grasped the child and spoke ferociously.

“You, do you really want to disappear?”

Dominique’s big eyes glared at the tall child.

“I can’t disappear!”

The child, who was once black smoke, groaned and pouted, as if he was surprised that his body was embodied.

‘Just what the hell is this?’

I looked at the child.

Although it was a deserted house, the floor of the building was flooded with icicles. The building was about to collapse.

And as I was grasping my neck, I looked around.

‘Lets get the situation straight for now.’

***

A moment after.

Dominique, the child who was black smoke, and I had a three-way face-to-face situation on the first floor of the stationary store.

The child, bound by magic restraints, was, in fact, the frowned upon devil, who had been around more than a thousand years.

“This is the devil I sealed in the old days, Mel. The one I was sealed with in the sword together…”

“I, the Winter Moon Devil, have finally arrived!”

The devil smiled brightly as he looked fascinated by his body that was a child’s.

Looking at the excited devil with cold eyes, I whispered to Dominique.

“You sealed that devil? Then it must’ve been sealed with magic. How did it get out?”

“I don’t know either.”

“Coequal, I don’t clearly knoweth how I got out. But I am very fond of the human world. Valorous morrow to thee, sir!” (The devil spoke how Koreans spoke in the Joseon era. So I chose to use Shakespearean for the translation.)

Perhaps because he was such an old devil, it was rather difficult to understand his old words.

Dominique sighed as he watched the devil of the Winter Moon, who burst with a loud voice.

“It’s been a few hundred years since I’ve been controlling it, so I don’t know why… But it looks like it was released naturally. But it will go back. Because sealing magic is strong.”

Dominique shook his head and restrained the Winter Moon Devil’s body again.

“You, apologize to Mel.”

“…Ignorant human, accept mine apology.”

Wasn’t he being too forceful?

But I had something to say to the Winter Moon Devil.

“About the ice outside, did you create them?”

“Thou art right.”

I gazed curiously at each of the unmelted ice that the devil had made.

“Is it ice that will never melt? It’s fascinating.”

I don’t know what the winter moon devil is, but the ice the the devil spewed was clear before my eyes. It didn’t even melt when I touched it.

‘And it’s ice.’

Ice was common in Korea. But in this world where there was no refrigerator, ice was rare.

“I knew it as that there were only few people in this world that could make ice that didn’t melt…”

“Yond’s right, a devil born under a winter moon like me can produce an infinite amount of ice yond doesn’t melt.”

“Dominique can’t make it either?”

Dominique, a hero specialized in fighting, strangely avoided my gaze.

Come to think of it, his words were right.

Even the great Duke Vaveloa and Duke Hesman couldn’t get ice easily.

Ice that would never melt made by this devil was especially rare.

‘This devil isn’t so bad?’

I thought of how to use him properly while getting revenge on this devil that choked me.

I smiled insidiously and gently touched the horns of the winter moon devil.

“Yes, devil. I have a job for you.”

“A job?”

“Yeah. I hope you can make me some slushies.”

The devil opened his eyes wide.

Of course, there were magical restraints, so he could only move his eyes.

However, he was so surprised that his big and doglike eyes were about to burst.

“What? Art thee declaring thou art going to drop of sorrow me apart with slushy magic? Thee archangel-like human!”

What’s thee, what’s slushy magic, more than that, what’s with the angel?

“Are you complimenting me right now?”

“Nay, it’s a terrible curse.”

Dominique grinned and spoke.

“Yes, Winter Moon Devil. Now you’re about to be torn to shreds with slushy magic.”

“…?”

I looked at Dominique with a curious look on my face.

“Mel is a very strong human. She even scammed me into a fraudulent contract.”

I was stunned to see Dominique raising his nose high.

‘Why are you bragging about that?’

But that devil gave another shot.

“Darn, so thou art a great human.”

Why was the horn that was as hard as iron drooping like a marshmallow? Why were you changing your tone all of a sudden?

“Yes. So a little devil like you will surely perish. Goodbye, Winter Moon Devil.”

“N-no…”

Dominique’s cold words made the Winter Moon Devil’s whole body flinch.

‘…I didn’t even say a word though.’

Things were smoothly getting worse.
